This is after the model sold in the UK in the 60s. Case full reshape -done a while ago- and viet bracelet repolished as it should
-
DW made some of the best cases !!! Pushers are really nice and bezel is fairly accurate. Gen T21 and gen coronet, reshaped case and athaya crown. Cool summer piece !!!
-
Genuine Cyclop 116, genuine crown, custom Viet dial, reshaped and engraved cartel case. Shaved caseback to low dome. Note the correct shape of the CGs on the mid case !

Hi guys, sorry but currently I don't accpet jobs... I have way too many currently and I try not to compromise quality. I ask patience to all. If you're in a hurry, please contact someone else to build your dream watch. Thank you for your kind understanding !!!! I wish I could help everybody as it's a real pleasure for me to communicate with nice people and assist them in getting their grail piece !!! But I have only two hands... 😅 And I refuse to do sloppy work in a hurry.

Refinished Vietnam case and custom dial. Nice gloss finish on the dial with a fine white 3D print. Extra flat lume as it should on GMTs to allow the GMT hand to operate smoothly.

Now, now, now... 1974 double red Sea Dweller... This is IT

This build was EPIC! Almost two years in the making. The owner was very demanding as he's familiar with the original of this specific year. Dial was redone twice !!! As well as the engravings untill the goal was reached. A great piece resulted of all this good attention. Enjoy the pics !!! -
Here is one of the most difficult Rolex reference to get: the 1019. I has a unique case shape that does not allow using an other ref as a base. Unique crystal size and hands... Everything but the crown differs from all the other refs. This one was totally custom made, with a very nice case !!! Diameter is correct, and it hosts a genuine vintage T39 !!!! So simple apparently... yet so difficult to get. Enjoy the pictures !

A few cases engraved, reshaped and color treated that will soon become exciting DayDates ! Look at the light gold perfectly even hue of the metal. When fitting a genuine WG crown, one can see the color is perfect !

Usual specs... DW case with a 7750 movement. Owner wanted it with lots of character... This one sure has some !!!! Enjoy the pictures.

This is the second Space-Dweler I get to build. A beautiful watch, so simple yet with so much identity. Enjoy the pics !!!

This model needs no introduction... The 7750 powered DW daytona. With the best dial DW ever made. The dial was tripped to be textured as per the genuine, a gen coronet was fitted and a "vintage" style lume was made. Gen service T21 with the desired "jewel" effect. Case is stock with just a slight buffing, enhanced by a gen crown... Classic.

Simple and efficient: the last version of the standard 6263. Note the correct 7 on the bezel insert and the nice font on the dial. Specs are: Cartel base, DW dial revarnished, relumed and with a genuine coronet, Swiss subsidiary hands, Viet bezel insert, Athaya crown, Cartel and DW links with a genuine clasp for the bracelet. Genuine T21. Case was fully reshaped to be as accurate as can be !

TC 16610 Submariner. Making the best better !!!
rolojack replied to rolojack's topic in The Rolex Area
No. There is an engine number like on a car, and only rolex archives can tell if it matches the case number. They are not related when made. They only get related after the papers are issued. -

Engravings are done by Neckyzips but you need to refinish the case first as surface is concave on those cases, like on most rolex reps... After the engravings the final brushing is done. Only that way will you have that result ! So it's a three step work. -
This one has all the refinments but a genuine T21 as these are getting harder and harder to get... I don't get tired looking at these elegant chronos ! It is such a timeless design. Enjoy the pictures !!! Specs: cartel based; viet dial and insert; alpha hands; swiss T21; Athaya crown.
-
TCs are probably the best 16610s made outside Switzerland... Now: with a better crown, engravings and a rebuffing of the sides how good does it get ???
-
Now... This one was something !!! And the result is worth every drop of sweat !!!! The case polishing was redone twice untill I could achieve the crisp edges I was after to match the great Phong bezel featuring a too nice finish to be repolished "aged" style. So: aim was NOS condition ! No the easiest aim... Mid case and case back are cartel. the caseback was shaved to achieve the super low dome shape of the genuine watch -cartel original shape it much too thick- and the mid case was considerably modified on the CG side. Dial was an adventure too: custom made on a ETA plate. Over 6 month of waiting... Anyways :no glued on dial !!!! Super sharp fit with a date that snaps at midnight and will never get caught rubbing the dial. Lume was done as thin as possible to accomodate the hands stack: Needles are straight. Not bent up to accomodate the lume... In short: it's as perfect as can be using a ETA machine. Genuine crystal, cartel hands (from an other model. The ugly oversized case one... purchased for the hands only!) Enjoy the pictures !!!!

Rolex 1665 Viet case refinished... Approaching perfection?

It is your case... Glad you like it ! -
Rolex 1665 Viet case refinished... Approaching perfection?
rolojack replied to rolojack's topic in The Rolex Area
Yes, Viet cases are the best base but it has a price tag... However: deep reshaping of a cartel case by shaving it and engraving it brings you pretty near that price ! There are no big savings to do that way if you want your built to be presentable... That case belongs to a client. It was retailed by Phong and was really worn. I did not do anything between the lugs. I reworked the sides and carved the CG as those details were off. As well as the top of the lugs: the big flaw of Viet cases. -
