  1. I am happy you like it

You are very lucky that i have this modded case ready in my watch spare box since 1 month and don't need to use it :) because modded the case take me more time than all other step to achieved it.

The only flow is the lack of paint because paint is fragile on stainless steel, but when RMC will do a new run of dial, it can be easily changed.

The matter with this one is the thickness, it was mounted on movement without back dial, so i was obliged to put the lume directly on the dial.

But what realy surprise me is how accurate time it give, very very accurate time!

  2. Special thanks to R. , S. and V. , you can always count on my help as you help me a lot to achieve perfectly some of my projects; without RMC, i will never have the perfect cutoms engraved dials, without FGD, it will be impossible to find an absolutely correct GPF buckle, and dadog make the perfect ring for vintage movement, and madasboot make the correct plexi and...(you know what M.... ^_^ )

But the best is the contacts i now have with this members, it's realy a nice community :D

When possible i am happy to explain, how do it, the real clue is "take your time" ; 2 years back i knew nothing, even don't know how open a case or how remove hands.

So i think all member her can do it if they take the appropriate time for each step of vintage making.

Chronozen, the case is not replated, only polished, before i use a silicon polishing disk on a dremel, after i use polish past and hands.

The soldered look like the case in real, you only notice it on pics, but in real it's like invisible

  3. ANSOME WORKS, superb lug very well done to be perfectly rounded, and the new crystal you instal WOOW really looks like genuine or really really near.

please can you tel us what you do to make the lugs like you do. size of the rod, welded with ?...ect.

    felicitation I LOVED.

What kind of movement you want to put on this beauty ? CORTEBERT,MOLNIJA,...ect

I have made the lugs from a kitchen whip(i dont be sure if it 's the correct word for it in english, the tool you use to mix when you cook) , because it's the only one where i find stainless steel this one are 2.0mm in diameter but all other i find are only 1.6mm; it's hard to find a correct one.

I bend it by hand using a plier, very strong work :D

It's hard to do the good shape.

Movement will be a cortebert i have , i absolutely new condition, but i need to find the correct blues hands, and a new winding stem because mine is too short.

  4. Hello,

I have just achieve my last project, making an exact replica of a gen 3646 with history.

I choose to reproduce the one of Heinz Pape, a kampfschwimmer during world war two, 1944-45.

I realy like this model, with the sterile dial with indices turn in orange color, with some cracks.

Pics of the Heinz Pape one :

    364617.jpg

    36468.jpg

    364615.jpg

    364619.jpg

The case is a standart rep case from ebay, i removed lugs, make new lugs, slimmed the case, soldered lugs and also the screw tube, plexi are changed with a new one domed plexi.

    CIMG2640-1.jpg

    CIMG2636-1.jpg

Crown are engraved and mod to look molded.

I have work a lot to reproduce exactly the same dial, so i do the same color on same indices and numerals, some are more clear than other who have cracks on it like the 3, 6, 9 and 2.

Indice are filled with orange dye resin, cracks added after.

The indice are shiny like gen with a very little matt finish.

    Kampf1.jpg

The hands are gold ones, more long than the standart blue ones from a cali rep; so i have mod it, added a middle bar for the hour hand, and paint it in black (instead of flamed blue because impossible to reproduce correctly, and some gen vinatge have black hands like this), after used and vintagesed with some rust.

Actualy only a standart unitas on it, after i will put on it the cortebert i have i new condition, when i will have the correct hands for it and a new more long winding stem as mine is too short.

Let me know your comments :)

  5. Do you still have these pics? Or should I contact DSN for them?? I would love to see what he came up with.

I always have the pics, but i am not at home.

i have contact DSN to know if it can be possible to reproduce this big watch, so he answer me it's on the way and send me the pics; he said it will be ready in a month.

Ask him and he probably will send pics in fews hours.

but he don't give me a price; i think price will be high because all parts seems tobe made for this one, dial, hands, case, cg...

But be carefull as the watch will be in steel with ti plated, not full titane or aluminium, so hard to wear for small wrist.

But for me, 60mm is the diameter ecluding the crown, are you sure the 60mm include the crown ?

if yes it will be only a little bit more big than a 47mm :) .

  6. if the case will be able to host the Angelus mvt we will need the help from R once again to make a custom dial for this one...

I will also buy one when the DSN will be ready, but i think i will mod it with the unitas; i don't want to put a angelus on a watch i will probably never wear; but maybe...

I search but don't find it, a wrist shot of this monster, it look very big; some of you maybe have this pic ?

i usualy wear a 6152 who is the good size for me because i have enough luck that it don't see too big on my wrist :D

    But a 60mm ?

  7. The same in 47mm will be very nice.

But 60mm ??? who can wear it?

    DSN have one 60mm who will be sell in the next month;

I have see pics and i am interested to buy one to complet the vintage collection,

But all will depend of price, as i think i will never wear a soooo big watch.

DSN one will be of stainless steel; We can imagine the wheigt !

Not for swimming or you will be obliged to dive

  8. Yes, good choice, short thick hour hand, curved and rose gold; perfect for angelus project.

If someone are interested for cortebert ones, i vote for the number 13, with the long point .

    Nice for base dial.

Maybe even not more high price because this one will be made flat.

If possible for you to make the two style hands let we know T :)

Do you know if it can be possible to do a special order somewhere even for only one set ? because i need correct blue hands for the 3646 project i have.

  9. My dials fit if that's what you mean! I'm looking into another run, but would probably create only a few Angelus dials and the rest Cortebert (unless there is still a huge demand for Angelus dials?). These would ideally avoid any trademarks - so plain, MM or fictional dials (like the Gruppo Gamma one).

Oh yes, a new run of dials

The one with subdials, angelus or unitas are perfect, don't need to change anything.

For angelus i have what i need , so new base one for cortebert or unitas will be nice.

Maybe one with only Gruppo gamma instead of MM ?

If you plane to do unitas subdials more , i will be interested by a MM GG one, for an all day use and for a full case back.

You want to avoid any trademarks ? it's nice because i don't want to make fake pam

Thanks again for all you work ,

(R, i will PM you this evening , now it's time togo eat :D )

  10. "if i am correct... the hour hand only is curved and the minute hand is flat??????? Please check it."

no, the two are curved; i have the two set , gold and rose gold, the two hands are curved; but maybe you can find watches with a mix of the two in the gold color, but for the rose gold color if i remember correctly i never see flat ones in the rose gold color.

"we need a picture of an vintage model with Cortebert/rolex movement and the curved rose gold hands... we need to be sure that this curved rose gold hands set was used also by 618 caliber and not by 240 cal. only."

I have never see vintage cortebert with curved hand because curved hands are from angelus and for angelus.

The most(all?) of watches with cortebert/rolex have flat hand in the dagger style; the first one just after war are more short and more sharp/dagger(i don't know the name in english)

"what should we do with the thickness of the hands. We have 3 options

    1. we use the origin design (thick hour hand curved, thin minute hand flat) like on picture

    2. we build the minute hand thicker like the hour hand

    3. we build the hour hand thinner like the minute hand"

The best choice for me will be the two thick and curved.

  11. All seems to be ok, but gold or rose gold ?

i have the two type in gen, the one i prefer is the rose ones, more nice with a not too dark yellow lume, more white .

    ok we have:

    - gold hands

    - curved

    - thick

    - with green lume C3 (everyone can modify it)

    - small second hand for angelus with long pin

i would like the rose gold color... not yellow gold

    anyone disagree?

  12. I know it's not the search place but as it is very specials parts for vintages pam...

Around one year back, madasboot have offered here some hands set blued for cortebert, the two hands, hour and minute, have a middle bar in it.

If someone who have buy a set ( or more) have one to sell or exchange, please contact me.

    Thanks a lot :D

  13. RMC have all explain.

Molnija are close to cortebert, finish is different in color, cortebrt is shiny, molnija is grey.

The real problem is the hour wheel who is very short, to adapt, you can make a mod by adding an extra tube on it beetween the wheel and the hand.

But this movement run like a tractor

  14. Thanks Tourby for this nice project :)

Like RMC say, the one like on unitas are easy to mod for cortebert so maybe not the bestest choice.

The curved one for angelus are the one i prefer, fat with short hour hand.

in what color ? gold or rose gold ? ; i will be in it for 3.

And a second hand with long pin will benice as it take a lot of time to do one by myself; i will be in it for 3.

For the lume color, maybe the bestest choice will be to sell it free of lume, as it can be easily to lume it for the one who will buy it , no? if tritec is too hard to use(but i think no) i know a french old horogical shop who sell vintage lume little yellowish, ready to use , and who need only 1 minute to relume hands.

But for me , the hands i realy want will the blued ones with long hour hand with middle bar for 3646 cortebert , for this one i will be ok to pay a big price, as theire are no good other alternative(even if the one on cali rep can be correctly blued by myself, the hour hand is definitely too short).

Maybe for this project, for you to be sure it will be ok after you will made it and you don't loose money like on the T60 crown, you will need to take only pre-order and paiement before starting the production ? it will be ok for me :)

Thanks again T for this wondefull project

  15. I have order one.

More for the Kampfswimmer than for the torpedo.

Some year back i made a lot of this kit and figure, especialy WW2 german tank and crew; i realy like to paint and mod the 1/35 figures.

And of course, i will add a 3646 on his wrist ! :D

  16. I agree with T ,

This vintage movements are very problematics, sometime runs perfectly for months, sometime only for days.

I have two cortebert ones, the two works perfectly and keep accurate time, one is one watch for 10 months and watch was wear during around 3 months without any problems.

I have 3 angelus, and quality is badest than a cortebert, one is on watch a wear every day since 4 months without any problems, except each day it take or loose 2 minutes, impossible to adjust it correctly,

The other in new condition are problematic since i receive it, change 2 wheels, work ok for 10 days and have problems again, so will be exchange with the one who run for 4 weeks in my other watch.

So now i will send 2 angelus for service for T.

Vintages movement is not for everyday wear :(

    I don
  17. c_e...your work never cease to amaze me...your skills are great! your improvements are great for the vintage world of PAMs...

    G. your 3646 caseset...very cool and bad for Kevin...

    Thanks S. and V. :)

And what is your idea about dial and movement ? i think cortebert with sterile kampfschwimmer, because my prefered 3646 is with sterile dial, or i will try to find a gen dial, the one stamped and painted of late war, not sandwich; VDB have yet use one; if someone have one for sale please PM me

  18. Since i have see this topic i have in mind to do a new 3646 case.

    I have achieved it yesterday :D .

The case was slimmed, rounded, new lugs was made, lugs and screws tube are soldered, new domed plexi, display caseback with plexi.

Crown is engraved with cross and brevet.

At this time i have not decided the movement; cortebert with display, or unitas with full caseback; and dial ? a vintage cali, a sterile kampfschwimmer, or a radiomir one( but this one i don't have and need to find one).

Let me know your comments , :)

    Enjoy the pics :

  19. Very nice work !!!

It's the one you have made i prefer.

    i realy like it .

    The thick caseback is beautifull.

And the cover plate for angelus is what i talked on my previous post about my gruppo gamma one, i work on it for 3 weeks but as you know, i have some difficultys with the movement who was changed yet.

Now the movement on it is with CDG so cannot add the cover on this one.

i will work for an other project when movement will be repair.

What do you use to do the cover plate ? steel or aluminium ? i search thin aluminium because i am afraid the steel can be too magnetic; no problems with yours ?

If you have a scan of the cover plate please PM me, i can help me for the drawing.

Again, a very nice work S. :good:
