  1. Hello,

Like i promise last week, here my topic about my 6152 Cortebert powered, with all mods by me.

This one was more easy to do that the angelus one.

    Here the mods :

    - case slimmed, rounded, polished and aged.

    - lugs modded

    - crownguard: removing of the "rg tm" , re-brushed, aged.

    - new crown guard lever made with a more thicker end to touch the case, because the first one was too small and thin.

    - new axe made of steel for the crown guard

    - stamped the pre-patend number "1" on back of crown guard.

    - springbars of full s-steel self made like gen rolex ones, with one size pusher( honestly, more strong and safe than the screws bars and more durable if you change the strape often.

    - glass remove and change for a plexi clone of rolex tropic 24 one that i have shortened in height of 1,5mm ( maybe not close to gen for the height, but don't like to height plexi, it is again 6 mm more height than the bezel) and in diameter to fit perfectly.

    - case back sterilized by removing all the marking, glass changed for a vintage plexi domed one(found from a french watchsmith supplier).

    - all white nylon o-ring tinted in dark brown

    - dial changed for one with thin markers like gen vintage(the bestest and closest dial i ever found; i found 2 of it) dial aged and vintagized with markers under resin flat filled, and MM in off white color.

    - hands reshaped and modded to be more pointed, oxidized and lume change for vintage one in yelow/greenish/white color.

    - Simona vintage extr long strap, the bestest i have found for sale, because same spacing of holes and same leather than gen vintages; all the next ammo i will do will be the same in shape.

    - winding stem re-tapered to be screwed on the crown

    - inside movement ring made of brass from a bar

    - And of course, a full serviced cortebert 616 installed, who work perfectly and keep accurate time whith a rolex sun polished wheel.

I have found one more cort 616, now on stock, but in a absolutely new condition, for a next project.

I have wear it for some month, and even if i own gens this one is one of my favorite !:D

    Now the pics :

    Comments will be appreciated

  2. And last picture for this one; the engraving case back in the kampfschwimmer style , all by hand with a self made tool and a hammer, more than 3 hour of hard work .

On gen in 1945, engraving was made in the prisonnier of war camp by one the captured german kampfschwimmer who was a watchsmith before war; he used a modified razor blade.

On this pic you can also have a better wiew of how the lugs are round and welded.

Toomorow i will do the post with my cortebert 6152 :D

    3646back.jpg

  3. Thanks for the comments,

Movement is a standart unitas because it's not a display caseback, but you are right i need a hight cannon pin or a movement with it yet instaled; if someone here have one for sale let me know, what will be great will be more hight pin for the hour wheel and for the minute wheel .

The brown resin is self made using clear resin that i dye with brown wood varnish. very easy .

I will post a pic of crown to see the engraving,

Case back is totaly sterile but i will engrave it the next week or maybe today, will post pics when do.

My model was the one posted by dadog, who is from Heinz Pape who use it during his kampfschwimmer zeit in 1944-45.

  4. Hello,

So i promise, here pics of my other self made vintage : a 3646 kampfschwimmer one, with sterile dial like use in the world war 2 by german frogmens; dial is sterile to give no information about the owner if capture by ennemy .

    So here the mods :

    - case will be slimmed and a little resized

    - new lugs is made ( from kitchen wheep :) ) and welded on the case

    - screw tube is welded

    - crown as "brevet and cross engraved"

    - dial is repaint in black with touchs of brown an a little polished

    - markers filled with brown resin who do the correct vintage color ( under dial the lume is white with no mods because it's the resin who do the vintage color)

    - hands was aged with rust and relumed with the same product that in my Angelus

    - crystal was rounded and aged

    - standart flat back who will be engraved by me with kampfschimmer text with my name next week, this will be long to do.

    - finaly strap as seewn directly on the wacth and buckle is mod and seewn again

    Now the pics, enjoy :D

And on this pic you can better see the real color of the vintage lume who is very less darker in reality than in pics :

    GW36465.jpg

    Hope you like it,

    I will do a new post this weekend with the cortebert one;

    Have a nice weekend !!!

  5. I sand the dial for two reasons : first, to be a little less darker before use the varnish with aerograph, and second for remove the little excess of paint who is off the text on the dial;

You will be very lucky if your case feet correctly the movement without any mods; i have 3 different case from 3 dealers, inside size is different on each one, even some dial are too small for some case.

now i will do the new post with the 3646... :D

  6. How????!!!!

The amount of work that has gone into this is incredible. Getting the movement to fit the case is challenging, removing the text from the case back is a horrible task, but the dial?! Having made vintage dials myself (not by hand - which makes this even more amazing), I'm amazed at the quality of the work, the resin-filled numerals and the colour matching on the dial. Matching the colour of the dial is something that I never expected to be so challenging - is this one painted, oxidised or have you used a different process?

I'm looking forwards to seeing the other watches - it might persuade me to get around to finishing off all of the unfinished projects in my drawer!

    Thanks RM,

It's right that it was a hard work to do this one, but when you know how do something, it will take less time when you do it again; i think that do an other one will take 2 or 3 time less when i will build the next egiziano.

it's not as complicated as you think, just need a lot of time to find the correct process for each part of the work.

As for remove the text of case back and polish it and vintage it, 1 hour is enough.

Slim case and lugs and vintage it, less than 3hours.

Make springbars, less than 1h30 ...

The dial will take more time;first disasemble the two parts, after i sand it a little, after i paint the MM, after i polish it a little, after i do the resin-filled, after a little of matt varnish and little polishing on some place like midlle of dial and around the numerals; vintage the color of the markers is easy by a little of paint, just hard to do a color like the one you think.

The real hard job is to put this so thick movement correctly in the case and in good place for the hole of the winding stem, but now all is ok :D

  7. Hello,

I know that I am new and this forum, because i usualy i only read here and not write, but as a a vintage lover of pam, i want to show you my "products".

  8. Hello all,

i buy a DW kit from David and recently a vj72 movement that i have yet put on it, all was OK :thumbsupsmileyanim: , hands , dial, but it seems impossible to screw the winding stem on the crown  , winding stem seem to be too thick for the screw hole in the crown.

someone have the same problem ?

what can i do for this ?

i was OK for a real rlex crown but all i see on ebay seem to have a too small hole on crown to put it in place.

Thanks a lot for your help!!!!!

  9. Mvt is real for a 6538, it's a rolex 1030.

the bezel insert no; a real is made of brass and chromed or aluminium plated.

the nsert will be (for the same as seen in "Dr No", "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball") a 6200 insert without reapeter minutres beetween 0 and 15 minutes. triangle was silver.

for the dial the circle around is correct but gilt color was better and"200m-660ft" will be in white letters.

for the case i loose angles on each lugs.

hands are little too fat, seconnds hands needs a biggest round on it.

But honestly i think it's a good replica.

i do the perfect bond sub(except mvt) if i can i will post pics. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  10. hello,

    i search a val 72 but don't find one,

i would like to know i someone know what movement i can put in my DW daytona case?

is his "mystery" mouvement available elsewhere ?

or what mouvement can be replace it ?

even with only two subdials at 3 and 9o'clock ?

it's not a matter if the pushers are not assymetrics, i can moddified it .

a valjoux 7750 can fit it ?(if i remove the balance wheel )is it the smae subdial spacing?, or maybe a 7760, or maybe a poljot mvt ?

    Please help me,

    i realy need your help,

    Thanks a lot :D
