Only if you can find the person with the title deeds and persuade them to sell. Not forgetting that the location might now be a slum as the smart set have moved to a new town..... 'Empty' buildings generally stay populated - with rats and other scavengers.

Most of the problems you have described with your watch are characteristic of your choice of model/movement. There is more than enough information around on the rep 7750 movement to make an informed choice whether or not to buy a watch that uses it. They are notoriously unreliable. Secondly, I have read before about the paint on the bezel coming off on the Navitimer 7750 rep. I'd blame your choice of watch over the dealer in this case.....

Far easier and safer to replace the whole guard. 2 screws into the watch case does the job. Replacing the lever means removing the interference-fit pin. Once you've loosened it there'd be no guarentee it will stay in place.

Its a bit like playing in an abandoned building. Great fun, but it's abandoned. It might even stay standing for a long, long time but it will only deteriorate...

Hmm. That's two watches I received with misty crystal and corroded rotor screw, and two other rwg'rs receiving watches with the same problem. If it is any consolation, my watch now looks and functions wonderfully after being cleaned out and oiled, but considering I've paid less for watches and received better products this is not 100% service. Andrew has been well warned that these watches are variable in quality, to say the least.

I've got one of those watches in a drawer somewhere (no kidding). It's crap I know, but the movement looks interesting.....

@poopy - the watch is real. Anounced at Basel this year. Dunno if it is in the shops yet though. @archi - the dials would be bang-on, but the datewheel would be sunk (as per the 7750 pannys). A 7753 version would be 100%.

Don't be surprised if they came from the same factories as the 'genuine' articles....

Pics are the real deal - I was looking at one in the metal today!!. Doesn't mean that you will get what's in the pics though.....

It's 21,000 BPH and it is a Miyota copy, not ETA. Damn good movement tho....

I think after my experiences I may write one! I'll need to get a decent camera first though....

The crown on my Asia Planet Ocean was 'freewheeling' in one direction. Turns out it was unscrewing itself from the stem extension. Unfortunately I went a bit too tight when I was doing it up again with some threadlock... A new stem extension will cost peanuts, but I've no idea which one to get from the vast range available. Does anyone know if there is a standard thread for this particular crown/movement combo? Many thanks.

My Asian movement PO was running 5 seconds fast a day. I tweaked it this morning and now it is running bang on. Lost/gained nothing in 6 hours. Can't beat it!

To prise money from badge-conscious people.

Seeing this in an earlier thread has given me an idea.. Following my shennanigans with Andrew's suppliers and his 45mm Planet Ocean, I now have a complete, fully functioning but 'strapless' black bezel/faced PO assembled from the duffers I received plus some spare parts. I fancy trying a redial with the orange numeral face of the 45mm rep and tracking down a black strap with orange stitching as shown above. Watch this space....

Only one word to describe the workmanship... WOW!

@rek001 - its a quality control issue which so far has tarnished (no pun intended) only the 45mm Asian version of this watch. Admittedly it is half the current price of the best 42mm 'ETA' ones (with no 45mm ETA officially on the market yet), but if it is any compensation - this watch is now running +5 secs a day with some lubrication and no regulation. I'm happy!

TBH I'd be more interested in her co-star...

Looking forward to it Well folks, here's the (almost) finished article - defogged, de-rusted and with a snug fitting strap. The pic ain't good enough for the photo gallery so I'm posting it here.

UPDATE! This morning my postman handed me a package that was way to heavy to be just a rubber strap. Opened it and sure enough it was another PO from Andrew with strap attached this time! Closer inspection reveals why... The strap is the same as the first one I got and in fact a good rep of the real Omega deal. The watch case has had to be modified to make it fit. The first watch I received is on the left. New one is on the right with extra lugholes drilled closer to the watch body and a locating hole to accomodate a lug on the strap-end has been added. The new one has the same 'foggy' interior so I guess I'll be cleaning this one out too... 10 out of 10 to Andrew, but a big zero to his suppliers for using him and his customers as product developers!! I'd also fancied doing some mods to the pearl so this gives me some spares to work on!!! PS. Just taken the back off - this one's corroded too. So much so that the rotor is stuck. Guess I'll be doing a movement swap as well.....

Another giveaway is the scalloping on the bezel. I bet this is the feature they will get wrong on the 45mm reps....
