  1. This watch is wrong for a whole load of other reasons, so the least thing I'd be worried about is the datewheel. It's just a matter of personal preference I suppose, but the dial design this watch carries is normally accompanied by a white datewheel regardless of colour so I'd be inclined to leave it as is, although the date font on this particular rep is incorrect (open 6's and 9's). The 2824 black datewheel should fit with no problem though! PS. How's the 'look and feel' of the watch otherwise? I've got my eye on the blue face/bezel version of this.
  2. Still the Planet Ocean.. If Daniel Craig can wear one while swimming with gorgeous babes, jumping off cranes, driving an Aston Martin DBS then why not.... ... yeah, right
  3. No - welcome BACK!!
  4. If you can call it a fued. Ultimately there was only ever going to be one loser.
  5. The 090 Pam is a particularly good buy from Silix. Their price undercuts everyone else who sold the same watch by 10-50% and it is a quality item!
  6. As I keep saying, this is definitely worth the 'wait-and-see'. The 45mm Planet Ocean will become a hot item with the general public (not just the rep cognoscenti) later this year and into next, which will drive the rep makers to improve their product. The Seamaster Pro 300 got good for one reason and one reason alone - the association with James Bond - and when even a small percentage of the few million people who see the Planet Ocean on the big screen come November decide they want one..... If us impatient lot keep jumping for the flawed 42's that are around at the moment then where's the incentive for the rep makers to improve them now?
  7. Josh's 'latest' has been around for a month. It is no better or worse than the other '4th gen' offerings. Major shortcoming of it is that the markers are the wrong shape. IMO the 'best' Planet Ocean at the moment is still the 45mm Asian movement offering. It is currently the only 45mm rep PO and the movement beat frequency is the same as the Co-Axial movement of the genuine one (ETA 2824 beat frequency is too high!!) Buy it with a rubber strap and you avoid one flaw, and save yourself $140 so you can afford to get the dial fixed and the crystal AR coated if you are that way inclined. Otherwise, stay sitting tight for the promised other 45's to come along..
  8. Actually - this particular version of the watch is now only sold officially with a black leather or rubber strap!
  9. Another one to add to the 'Polfy Gelena Shitnerand' catalogue of watch engravings. Still doesn't beat the Panerai Dayught though....
  10. Hope the perpetrator archived it first (or maybe just changed a few filenames).
  11. Is there a 'tongue-in-cheek' smiley?
  12. OOps! Just noticed the bracelet is completely wrong.
  13. Looks good for the money (although I'd like to actually see the GMT hand), and the Asian 21J movement is rock-solid.

I think several people tried to hack it at the same time (no names, no pack drill) and broke it.
  15. It's like watching a car crash, in S-----L-----O-----W motion.
  16. Another reason why the Miyota 21J movement versions of this watch are more visually authentic than the ETA 2824 ones!!
  17. We are going round in circles here! An identical thread was started a week or so ago on the same issue. This is NOT a 45mm model - read the small print carefully. It is the same 42.5mm model that PT has been selling for months now.
  18. Sadly, this isn't quite the case. Latest batches of these watches also have an incorrect pearl design (which looks to all intents and purposes like surplus from the Rolex Submariner reps). The 'new' pearl is oversized and therefor precludes doing Veloci's conversion as the hole in the bezel insert will be too large to accomodate the modified pearl. Secondly, the dial printing has deteriorated - the '300m/1000ft" print is now oversized, and the "Chronometer" print incorrectly uses the font for the black faced models. Finally, the clasp (probably one of the most authentic features of the older generation replica) now has laser etched rather than machine engraved markings.
  19. What an irony - on the week the UK parliament are debating assisted suicide for terminally ill patients... (Which is legal in Switzerland, incidentally.....)
  20. Groan!! That has to be the weakest F1 link ever! Now, if you'd been talking about one of the Oris rubber straps on their Williams F1 specials I'd have let you off as they are in fact styled to look like grooved F1 tyres. Oh, and just to blast totally off topic... David Coulthard arrived at the Catalunya Circuit today wearing a PAM, but I couldn't see which one it was...
  21. How many threads do we need to discuss this??
  22. Omega Seamaster Pro 300m. Absolutely without a doubt.
  23. Hope you kept the sick-bags handy from earlier today... Golfers,... no taste...
  24. PS. This watch is about as far removed as you can get from any of the models that will feature in the movie 'Casino Royale' being released on November 17th. Correct watches are the 45mm black Planet Ocean with rubber strap, and the blue Seamaster Pro 300m GMT model.
