  1. This is a good quality rep. I happen to know one of our very own dealers gives one of these a lot of wrist time and it still looks A1.... No fears.
  2. Didn't he play in the 'Rest of the World' celebrity charity team for Sport Aid? Didn't see the game but he's looking a lot healthier these days than he once did. Tax evasion is a national sport in Italy - getting caught is the sign of a real idiot!
  3. I take it is is supposed to look like a V-cylinder configured car engine. It's all a matter of taste, but this piece is unusual for a reason....
  4. <<sigh>> Does no one EVER read my posts on this subject. The movie character will wear two Omega watches - the black 45mm Planet Ocean with rubber strap, and the 300m Seamaster Professional GMT.
  5. (we need a decent smiley for this!) I wondered why Skinner and Baddiel didn't re-release Three Lions... "Forty years of hurt....."
  6. I've waited too long to see this again..
  7. Well, on Sunday 23rd I plan to be spending several hours on the old Champs Eleesays (preferably right at the finishing line!) so you are welcome to join us there if you can find us..... Le Tour
  8. Hmmm.. Frank Williams got there first
  9. That's not what you said to me two days ago! So, anyway... who are you and JTB supporting in the World Cup then, seeing as Thailand didnae qualify...?
  10. The list of topics discussed makes the level of conversation at the recent WoS GTG sound positively plebbish. PS. I'm spending three nights in Paris starting 21st July, but seeing as part of the reason I am there is to mark the 10th Anniversary of my engagemnt (the other part being the last day of Le Tour) I think my wife will kill me if I bugger off to talk watches with complete strangers
  11. This is EXACTLY what I was seeing, although I gave the cash to Pug as he sort of said it first. PS. I see that all that US Government indoctrination about Arabs being terrorists is sinking in quite well... PPS. I feel I should give another $50 to Jens
  12. Indeed. How many of the other dealers actually bother to come in here for anything but posting another half dozen offers or so in 'their' section?! At least Neil does more than just use this place as a cheap shopfront.. Hear here! As I said, he's not a mass market dealer, so comparing him to this is just nonsense. "One single order for xx pieces. The customer save a lot of money"?! More like the customer is a scammer who is about to sell these on ebay as genuines. That is just so so far away from how TTK runs his operations it is unbelievable. Another point to note - Neil is one of the few dealers still able to accept PayPal (probably the most customer friendly payment method) and maintaining that status is very important to him and his customers. Having funds flying back and forward will raise the attention of the PayPal police and that will be no good for anyone concerned. Sometimes you would be better accepting a small delay in receiving your watch, or consider taking an alternative than raising a stink and wanting an instant refund.
  13. Either will not do Pick one, with a reason now as I'm giving you a hint.
  14. Yeah, but never the one you are looking for, and rarely for anything less than two years old in design....
  15. ..to the first person who posts here saying what it is I am seeing wrong with this web page. TAG Heuer F1
  16. Knowledge is power! I could make a small fortune repairing television sets, washing machines and other household appliances if I could get hold of schematics and technical manuals for them as often the expense is in identifying an eqivalent to a blown component that costs pennies. When a component cannot be identified then the only alternative is to replace complete circuit boards, often making 'repairs' uneconomical. If the information in these manuals wasn't so closely guarded then the lifecycles of the products would be extended, thus lowering the manufacturers' revenue streams!
  17. He shouldn't have stuck his 'neb' in...
  18. The Asian 45mm I have has a sapphire crystal. IMO this rep is ridiculously overpriced and a poorer choice than the equivalent Asian which, while having the same flaws, at least beats more like the gen. This is a watch for ETA obsessives only and choosing the ETA movement actually takes it one step further away from visual accuracy. PS. I have a spare crystal for mine and I am still investigating having it AR coated. I've enquired with a few opticians who say it is possible, but so far none are willing to try it in their machines in case something goes wrong
  19. Don't panic - Neil is not a mass-market dealer like some others. He prefers to hand-pick his items, so often will only take one intitial sample to see if it is any good and to guauge demand. This means you will often get unusual items from him that others who sell in bulk simply won't carry. Unfortunately it also means he can get caught out when demand is high. If he can get you another one then he will, but that doesn't mean just lifting another one from stock - it means finding another of the same standard (a service you will never get from the drop-shippers). Sometimes though it will also mean disappointment if he can't source an equivalent. One you can be sure of though is that he won't keep your money if you are not satisfied with his service. A point to note - make sure that in any communications with him you let him know any aliases you may go under in the forums. It's hard for anyone to keep track of three complaints in three forums from three different id's which in fact all originated from the same person!!
  20. Actually, I was going to get into VOIP but haven't got round to it yet... Anyway - now that I am unshackled by the constraints of Glasgow City council I can tell you that I actually took a wee gamble with this purchase as I did it blind - photobucket is a filtered site at my work!! I figured it was a no-brainer though - the price was already what I was hoping to negotiate another seller down to (for a while there I thought I was going to have to go to Ass-Pyre or even that corrosion merchant ) and your dial colour was the one I liked best on the gen but no-one else is carrying. When vric said the date alignment was 'perfect' - that's when I jumped! Having seen the pics now I am over the moon, but Neil - your standards are slipping!! That's a fair bit of refelction coming off the crystal.
  21. To me I hope! I know you don't 'do' PM's Neil, and I'm at work and can't pick up or send personal emails, but I'll fire one off later to say what a pleasure it is to do business with you again
