FIFA suspends the Hellenic Football Federation. With the Greek parliament going into recess without passing the necessary legislation requested by football's governing body, FIFA have decided to impose the ban before the 15th July deadline they had set. What do you bet that a few 'emergency sessions' may now be called before the new footie season?!

Talk about confusing I have figure out that the 28xx series all use essentially the same datewheel design though, but that's not much help...

I'm struggling to find these PDFs Interesting that the 7753/2893 datewheel is the same. I'm just wondering which movements use the same datewheel as the 7750.... Edit - found them. 2557/1!! Same datewheel as used on 2824/92.

Date misalignment is not uncommon on genuine watches too incidentally. WRT this rep I am sure the problem is simply a badly printed datewheel. In one case the two-digit dates do not even line up with each other. In theory an easy fix - either overlay a better printed wheel or replace it with a generic ETA one.

All I'll say to that is remember 1st March 2006!

The screw to worry about on TAG bracelets is the one holding the fliplock on the clasp. If you lose it the whole bracelet will come apart. That watch is beautiful - eyecatchingly different without the garishness of the Orange PO. If it had a 7750 I'd be there like a shot...

All's well that ends well... Cost - £0. The receptionist at the local opticians was VERY helpful, although I'm not too sure how the other customers felt waiting for us as we peered at tiny little screws togther.

Hmm - you've got me thinking now. I was going by the screw on the bridge being recessed on the King watch but sticking out proud on River's as this is where the fake microregulator would be attached. Anyway, the easiest way to tell without taking the back off is to look at the sweep of the big second hand with the chronos working...

As opposed to the silky smooth, crafted football of the English you mean?? @ Neil - I'm pretty confident now of finding an inexpensive solution to this, so please don't hassle your suppliers (rakes through a box of broken spectacles) @ everyone - sage advice is to check everything about your watches when you get them (real or rep), and a tube of loctite is a necessary addition to your watch toolkit.

I thought of the pin solution, but I think I may have come up with something better. I found an old pair of my spectacles and wound out one of the screws holding a nosepad and tried that. Correct thread and head shape, but too long (easy cut to size) and wrong finish (brass ), but at least I'm getting somewhere!!

My beloved TAG heuer Link Chrono obviously had a screw loose.. Thankfully I noticed the other end of the threaded bar sticking out the bracelet before the whole thing fell out and sent the watch crashing to the ground. I have no idea where the screw is or have any chance of finding it. The bar is 19mm long with the screw missing and I am struggling to get a replacement. To think I spent a while threadlocking my SS PAM last week too... I'm gutted

No no no!! Neither of them looks like that old movememnt, but I suspect one of them may have started life as one (and the reason for my suspicions are in my previous post....) Clue - one way to spot the old slow beat Asia 7750 was the phoney microregulator PS. My watch has the fast beat movement......

Get the good ones while you can folks!! River's not so good version

Well folks, looks like the second gen of this rep is out already, and it isn't good news.. Ryaku and myself have been comparing pics of River's new version of this watch (an apparent bargain at $189) with the ones we received from King and Neil respectively. Spot the differences... River's King's (Neil's is the same as this) Apart from the lack of o-ring (which I suspect has just been mislaid in River's pics) clearly some material has been lost from inside the watch case and a brass spacer inserted to make up the difference - check out the difference in gap between the ridge for the caseback seal and the lugs!! The bearing on the movement rotor also looks different (inferior quality?!) and that screw sticking out the bridge plate looks bad! Neil did mention that there appeared to be some disparity in the case dimensions being claimed by some dealers.

That's twice you've mentioned that now. Do tell, and did you keep any samples???!! Oh, and for a football chant, how's about.. You're going home, you're going home, you're going... Aussies going home.....
