  1. So, i've seen this being a thread on other large communities, and thought it would be fun to start it here, since it can give some good laughs and lighten the mood! So i'll go first: The Dark Knight Rises Next?
  2. Why thank you good sir, for stating the obvious and being so chivalry about it!
  3. Thanks Panerai153 for the great feedback! The only two other real favorites of mine (contrary to many others seemingly) is the AP Jumbo RO (15300 i believe people usually call it, though i do not know why.) and the Rolex Milgauss! The two later i know are very good reps (depending on the model chosen of course) but they both seem to have some minor external flaw. I did notice the AP RO 15300 is under "investigation" for being, or not being a "super rep" which i presume means its pretty damn good! The Milgauss seems not to be that common here, only seen a few members with them!
  4. Thanks for the great answers guys! The reason i want to do this, is because one of my dreams as a child, and yet still, is to design and build my own watch. Perhaps not from scratch, but with different parts, and making it work! I really do like the Hub Classic, but as mentioned above, it seems to be rather unmoddable, which is a shame since it is such a beautiful piece! Is there anything really that can be done to mod it, apart from a new strap & buckle?
  5. Why switch it? Because i can, and wish to have something more reliable than a chinese movement in it. So can SOMEONE please give me some advice, instead of just saying YES or NO?!
  6. Anyone know where to get hold of, and if it fits, a ETA Swiss 6497?
  7. Date is at 4.30 I'm looking for a highbeat, swiss movement, possibly with the Hublot counterweight. Anyone know what the price of getting one of these is, from a dealer or someone here?
  8. Its not the fact that it is a good movement or not, i simply wish to have a better timepiece within! And recommendations?
  9. Standard movement. "Nickel Plated, Cortes De Geneva Decoration on Bridges, Asian 2824 Automatic Movement, 25J, 28800bph, Insignia Engraved Rotor as per the Genuine" According to the specs from Andrew at Trusty. http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=279_348&products_id=7748&zenid=f149f78df6284812042adad001136b28 Link btw.
  10. Hey guys! I've recently got my new Hublot Classic Fusion, Link below. I don't know alot about the mechanics of the movements, but i feel that i need to upgrade it so something better, in the pricerange of maybe 150 - 200 USD, along with a SOLID caseback for Hublot CF. Anyone know where, and who can install these? /CS
  11. Very nice watch! Always looks better on wristshots, than from the seller!
  12. Very good and accurate comparison, and this is 6 years old (Which in ALOT for reps) so the reps being made as we speak are alot better!
  13. Congrats to one of the most helpful, and nicest guys here!
  14. Thanks for all the great anwers! Then on to the million dollar question, is anyone around the Stockholm (Sweden) area capable of servicing a watch in this manor? With this i mean people known to the forum (Ansers can be sent in PM), and not private watchmakers since they have a reputation of being very negative towards reps in Sweden, thanks to the general way of seeing things here. Sadly enough.
  15. Hi guys! I was browsing puretime and TT for Hub classics, and started wondering the difference between the Asian 2824 and the Swiss ETA-2824, both at 28800vph. What is the real difference between these two movements? Which should i chose for minimal service, that is more "Fit and Forget", then having to fiddle with it. What is the difference in general between Swiss and Asian movements? Link to the specific watch from Puretime below. Furthurmore, how does the Asian 2892 and the Asian 7750 compare to these two movements, and their main differences to the ones stated above? Sorry for me seeming to be a newbie, i'm just trying to learn so i can contribute to the community later on! Thanks guys! http://puretime.co/product/big-bang-classic-fusion-45mm-11-all-black-on-black-rubber-strap/
  16. I don't like the chronos either, and can't seen to find a decent auto with date!
  17. Hey guys! I've been looking for ages for a Panerai with a calender, but without the magnification (which i don't like at all) and that is automatic, with Swiss movement. So not a handwind, but a swiss Auto! Does this exist at all? Models of my taste are the more simple ones, like the Pam Base, and Luminor! Sorry if i might be confusing, i'm kinda new to Panerai. /CS
  18. Thanks for the great answers! Panerai153: And if i were to get "busted", what happens then?
  19. Hey guys! This may seem like a stupid question, but since i'm new to all this i'll just go ahead. If i want to service my watch, or do something EXTERNAL on the watch, for example shorten the bracelet and do not have the tools myself, what would happen if i where to go the the local mall where there is a standard watch shop from a chain in sweden called "Stjärnurmakarna" (Tissot, GC, Certina, simple stuff like this.) Most of the people in these shops are not actuall watchmakers, merely people working in the shop who know a little about watches. Would they be able to call it as a rep (Depending on how good it was ofcourse. Was thinking about this: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_114&products_id=10440&zenid=88e22518cdb556d606633c73762bd26f ) and if so, what would they do if they realised it was a rep? Thanks, CS
  20. Alot of flaws on that one, good base though. Still needs alot of work sadly...
  21. Hi guys, i didn't really know where to post this, so please feel free to redirect me! I am simply wondering if anyone here, Swedes obviously, know of any rep friendly watchmakers etc. in the Stockholm area. (Sweden) Answers would probably be best done over PM, since these watchmakers may or may not want to be public about it. So, either post any and alla answers here, or via PM! Thanks! /CS
