  1. Well, that's pretty much the info I sent you via pm. I'll post it here, others may find it useful too:

If I were to build another 5517, I would buy the complete case set from Ruby. (Request login password via email: infor@rubyswatch.com)

Ruby's bezel insert is currently the best, it's also included in the case set:

Although not perfect, dial from Ruby too:

    Hands from Yuki:

702 crown and tube either gen or from Athaya:

    Movement:

Ruby’s case is for a Gen 1520 movement. Alternatively an ETA2846 with adapter ring from Yuki. Check case dimensions with Ruby first. She may have an adapter too.

Admiralty Grey NATO strap from Phoenix, the original MOD supplier:

Caveat: Some may suggest it, but bon't buy any parts from MQ! He's tricky to deal with at best.

    That’s abut it. Good luck!

  2. Do you know if they reply fast normally? I sent an email but no reply. Also what is the watch in your picture? Cartel?

HR is usually fast at responding.

The watch is an MBW case. Dial HR, mixed hand set, Yuki pearl and insert, Athaya crown and tube, Gen T19 service crystal, ETA 2846 movement.

  3. Go with the PA 462-66 crystal, available from Ofrei. It’s very close to a gen service crystal. The T19 from Clark will distort the rehaut. Here’s a shot of one of my earlier builds with a Clark crystal, look how thick the rehaut appears to be at the bottom.

Here’s another of my earlier builds with the PA 462-66, see how even the rehaut appears.

And here’s my MBW with a Gen service crystal.

  4. Unfortunately Goodwood has become a money spinning circus and is much more about ticket sales, family entertainment and supposedly comical re-enactments than about cars. Nothing wrong with family events - don't get me wrong but the emphasis has shifted too far away from what it is supposed to be. IMHO.

True that. I used to go to the Goodwood Revival every year. Was a GRRC member for a while too. The early years were a dream come true. Even so, it just got too crowded for my liking. Stopped attending over 10 years ago and haven’t been back since.
