  1. Credit card transactions involve the card platform (MasterCard, visa, etc.), an issuing bank (the people that actually assume the credit risk for non-payment), a payment processor (Moneris, square etc). Plus maybe one or two other intermediaries if international transactions are involved. Normally all these entities work smoothly and efficiently together. Sometimes they do not, and there can be delays, especially if there was a holding period involved with the initial vendor (in this case Toro). Often times, some merchants do not get the money deposited into their account for up to a month (E.g Amex), depending on the vendors return policy or industry type. Things maybe further complicated given that we are dealing with CC transactions of unauthorized trademarked items. I don't know how Toro set up his CC payment services, but I don't think it's unreasonable that a refund could take a month or more until the customer sees the credit on his/her statement. OP, I say relax until you get your February statement. Further, in the worst case, if you are not prepared to occasionally lose $150 for whatever reason, then maybe this hobby is not for you.

  9. Well still need to fabricate the spindle that will allow the case holder mandrel to spin freely. Trying to emulate this: Needs to be able to slide on X Axis, rotate horizontally, rotate vertically and be able to spin, all at the same time. Oil filled pan/tilt mount is a good starting point. Gimme another couple weeks and it should be done

  12. For those of you that have no idea what a lapping machine does, here's some background info: http://www.rwgforum.net/index.php?/topic/173852-Lapping-Machine-project%2E--Stage-1 After having accumulated the motor, speed controller and other hardware, it's getting closer to the goal line as the mounting plates are being assembled. Struggled for awhile on how to rig up the horizontal rail as well as the case holder itself. I'm going to be using a decent quality pan/tilt camera mount that will slide on the rail. I've also made about 6 lapping blanks that will each have its own abrasive disc so I just simple swap blanks rather than using one permanent blank as I'm only using 1 motor. Some lapping machines use 2-3 motors. More progress pics to come in the next couple of weeks.

  19. A hole would need to be drilled for the stem of the HEV. Then a recessed area for the head of the HEV along with the associated washer. The inside of the case will need to be milled so that the rectangular spring does not interfere with the movement. Here's an old pic i have of the inside of a Phong 5514:

  21. Euro/USD is 2% lower today. It's a race among the western nations to see who can lower rates the most. SNB last week, Bank of Canada yesterday.. EU today. I dont think the Fed will be hiking anytime soon.
