  1. I'm afraid that is not a service dome. Regardless, it's a great project you assembled. If someone sold that as a service dome, you should contact him. If it was a service dome and you sanded and polished it to get the rounded corners..then great job!
  2. This is the bezel remover I have:
  3. From what I hear though, separating the insert from the bezel is a task that is complicated even for RSC. Allegedly, RSC technicians snap inserts occasionally, so whatever method Rolex is using, it is not 100% foolproof either. My suspicion is that the mysterious plastic insert retaining clip is sacrificial; i.e. one time use only. So even if I can remove the insert safely, I may need to source a new retaining clip to reverse the process. Just a guess at this point.
  4. Well. It would appear that a 32mm die fits perfectly inside the bezel and one could then put it on a press. Will need to find another die that has a ID that is just smaller than the OD of the bezel though. Might have to mill a custom one. Will hunt through the tool box tonight.
  5. What version gen T19 did you use? Was it sold to you as superdome?
  6. I'm not people Yes. The modern subC ain't exactly mod friendly
  7. What is the j12 case? Chanel J12??
  8. Thats unusual... the BP accepts gen gasket/crystal.. the retaining rings on both should have same ID. I have a BP lying around and will measure dimensions..But it should fit no problem.
  9. Did you buy all 4 Mike?
  10. I believe they are all sold
  11. Congrats everyone. Lets do this again sometime soon. Good times.
  12. I briefly owned a Yuki 5513 case. It did not have the gasket groove.
  13. I have not decided. Most likely neither. At this point, I'm just trying to familiarize myself with how this thing is constructed. I have mainly been working on vintages recently, so the modern ceramic sub is a bit of a mystery to me. Although I do own a gen 114060, I have not had the balls to dissect it...yet. I'd rather experiment with a $800 Indian special first before tackling a future project with this bad boy.
  14. My OCD is kicking in. Insert must be removed. Can't Rolex line up the insert with bezel teeth??? I know its dependent on the clicker teeth, but still. It's so ghetto.
  15. I have the tubes. But no Athaya crowns. You should use a gen crown anyways.
  16. Exactly. I have several spare plastic dies at home. I may have to mill one to the same diameter as the bezel ID
  17. Now that the retaining ring is off, I think if I had a die that had the same OD as the bezel's ID, I could press the insert off. There's enough of a lip now to push the insert and equal (theoretically) pressure can be applied to release the retaining clip without snapping the ceramic. I'm getting scared.
  18. Actually. The thin plastic friction washer needs to snap into the inside bottom of the bezel first. Then the bezel is pressed over the retaining ring. The sides of the washer is "T" shaped and fits into a channel in the bezel. This must be installed before the bezel is pressed on.
  19. I dont think the gen uses glue.. its a plastic holding clip of some sort
  20. so I stand corrected.. Installing gen bezel assembly is different than the BP. It would appear that the order of operations is: install crystal gasket and crystal to the case carefully press on the crystal retaining ring (just like the 16610). Thicker part on top snap on the tiny friction washer so that is is flush to the bottom. install bearing springs and clicker press on the bezel.. It looks like it can press on with thumbs.. Cant really tell until I try it once the ring is expanded by the crystal gasket. Now removing the insert from the bezel is still a challenge.. havent figured that out yet.
  21. The inside of the bezel as a couple of channels that I guess clip onto the retaining ring:
  22. Whoa. I just got the retaining ring off. It is not shaped the way I thought. I just carefully pried it off by inserting tweezers between the insert and top of retaining ring This is not like the BP at all
  23. I've taken apart the BP as well, and yes, there is no friction gasket between the retaining ring and the bezel.. But the construction is otherwise the same as gen, with the exception of the mysterious insert retaining clip. I think.... Really cant confirm until I get this f--ker apart
  24. I'm no longer into buying reps. But if I was, this would be on order. Just got the email about the BB V2 release. Not bad.. http://puretime-asia.com/product/heritage-black-bay-zf-11-best-edition-on-bracelet-a2824-v2/
