It Looks Like PAM's Are The "It" Watch in the Hamptons
slay replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
I did talk to a few salespersons at various AD's (Tourneau, Alpha Omega etc.). All of them had maybe one or 2 Pams, that was it. They all told me PAMs were very popular in the US, but they only get very very limited quantity of watches. They said most of them go to the european market. They did have the PAM Clock, too. But at over 1k and with only a quartz movement, I dont think its worth it! It would have been nice with a cal. 240 and btw. they all thought my WM was a 50.000$-historic PAM! I could try on ANY (!!) watch, even though I dressed in heavy worn shorts and t-shirt (maybe it was a polo, dont remember). I think I spend more than 2 hours at Tourneau -
No, he didnt have a black magic, he had a steel one with ceramic bezel and the only-steel one. Maybe he had others, too, I really didnt look much, cause I was not there for buying replica watches. At 12$ for a 6-pack of heineken (or any other non-shitty american beer), and a surrounding company of girls that have no problem drinking half a bottle of vodka and of guys from countries that are known for their drinkin habbits, there is absolutely no money for replica watches! haha, no that was not the one, but I think it was close to that one. Has FWATCH showed it off yet? Not sure though, as my orientation skills were barely enough to figure out where uptown and downtown was I didnt buy anything. I was tempted to buy the Arktos (guy asked 90$, could have probably had it for 70), but I decided to shop on 5th avenue instead

you will need to swap the dial, cause of the datewheel. that should be it?

i didnt look for breitlings, cause i'm not really into them. they probably have some there, cause they even had all the big bangs! you dont really have to pass through all the crap, the nice watches were actually at the first stand i looked at right in the center of canal street. it wasnt the only one offering nice watches. and as for police not doing anything... I dunno, but I really think its a US thing. I mean in germany, there is NO WAY anyone could just sell anything on the street, cause you need a selling permid and blah blah blah to sell anything and the cops will ask you for it and if you dont have one, they will confiscate ALL your stuff. but thats germany. in america it seems to be no problems to sell pirated dvd movies right on wall street? among all those cops? a

I dont know who got the rumor started that there was only shitty watches on canal street, i'm pretty sure it was one of the "New Yorkers". Maybe you guys dont know your city so well after all? Or was it just last century when you been there? I didnt really look for reps, I was only at 2 stalls, but yet I saw pretty much ALL the watches our dealers carry for less. The onoly watch that was more expensive was the Big Bang (yes, THE big bang!) it was 700quid, maybe there was room for negotiation, I dunno, I was not looking to buy one anyways. Basically an asian Unitas fiddy goes for around 80-90$, I'm sure you can get it cheaper of you haggle them down. It's definitely worth a trip if you are in town, because you can try the watches on etc. and as I said, prices are better than the dealers' and there is pretty much no risk involved. Besides of watch failure (probably), I dunno if they would take anything back. So please, new yorkers, maybe its time for a trip to canal street to see for your self!

basically it was only fwatch ed and me. food was great, location was pretty good too. ed&fwatch were nice aswell we made a little trip to canal street after our g2gether, but we spend so much time in the restaurant that most of the shops were closed when we got there. fwatch bought a real "beauty" at one of the open shops. i'm sure he's gonna show off that "bargain" in a while

alright, see you guys in a while. i might be a few minutes early/late, depending on how busy the metro is.
-
i hope people will show up... how are we going to know what table we are sitting on etc.? did you make a reservation under a special name or so? i dunno how big this place is, i mean if its huge it would suck running around there and lookin at everyones wrist lol

just curious, is that a good university? never heared of it, thats why i'm asking. what kind of requirements did you have to fullfill? my friend is at LSE, he said you need to have an average A in all your high school classes to get in. he would not reccomend it though, because they do nothing but theoretical stuff.

you can read, correct? i NEVER said apple would crash or anything the like! i never said not to buy apple stock. please use your braind and READ before you put things in my mouth i never said! WHAT I SAID WAS: "buy apple, keep it till after a few days of the macworld, sell it, buy some mopre and keep it till the iphone is released, then sell it and buy again later". the iphone wont be a big success in europe. it wont come with UMTS (i had a UMTS phone more than 3 years ago and that phone could make video calls, UMTS is more than standart, especially for internet apps! how [censored] ridicolous is it to praise the [censored] safari when the phone is slow as [censored]? when there's wireless lan around i most likely have a notebook or am at home, no use for an iphone! jobs sais UMTS modules are too big? BULLSH1T, my w880i is small as fcuk and thin like a Nano) and germans are not used to pay 500Euros for a cell phone. germans chose a CONTRACT first and then the phone. you get most high end phones for 1euro if you get a 2 year contract. SOME might cost you like 100 with a contract, but those phones can do a lot more than the iphone! only 3% said they might buy the iphone, which is really not much if you consider how much it was in the news etc. and most of them probably didnt even know the iphone would come without UMTS and would bring a very expensive contract with it. the ARPU is about 30$ in germany. in america its about 50 to 60$. making calls here is more expensive aswell. a text message costs 20cents, a minute up to 70cents, there is usually no such thing as unlimited mobile to mobile unless you get an expensive contract. same goes for nights and weekends. in long term i believe apple will be very successfull. i'm not saying dont buy apple, i'm just telling you how to get the most money out of it by trying to predict whats going to happen! if you had followed my advice, you would have made a LOT of money right now! I said buy apple before the MacWorld, then sell it a few days after, then buy some more and sell it after the iphone is released. if you start using your brain and look at the chart of apple stock, you would see that this was the perfect way to do it, until now. ( http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=AAPL&t=6m ) iphone can be a success in america, but for germany (biggest market in europe!) i highly doubt it! other european countries besides france and the UK wont even get it until 07 because apple couldnt find partners. vodafone declined the offer, because apple was too greedy.

i think its correct as it is, i remember seeing a gen exactly like that!

fine with me aswell (is cuban food legal in the US? i kno cuban cigars&rum arnt lol, just had some fun at a tobacco shop the other day with the sales person there). could we please nail this now? i have no idea if i can get online again before the 11th (i just paid 12 bucks at this internet cafe here!). i dunno if i pm'ed you my cell # or not, i'll just send it to you again. would be cool if you could text or call me on the 10th some time and let me know if its final and what time etc. or have kruzer call me, i think i gave him my number, too! and can you maybe send a PM to everyone, eddhead? edit: oh i forgot, could anyone please bring a bigbang (kruzer maybe?) i just looked at one at an AD and i wanna see how it compares to the rep.
-
take it to the breitling AD and have them resize it lol
-
and if it had been the right one, it would have been stupid to ask here, because dozens of guys here would have started to bid on it and the price would have risen tremendeously!

10th is fine, but it will have to be some time in the afternoon or at night. i'm busy in the morning

if so many cant make it on the 14th, we can do it during the week, cant we? I mean is there anyone who could NOT make it on the 10th 11th 12th or 13th? It would be very helpfull if everyone that wants to attend could post dates and especially times where he can make it! @kruzer yes, that would be nice if we could do that. i still hope we can manage to put our g2g on a date where everyone can make it. so, please everyone, let us know when you can make it

14th is fine with me. I think at a naked sushi bar you have a naked women on a table with all the food on her genitals, breasts, etc. not 100% sure if he meant that though! i wont eat sushi, but i'm fine with it as long as there serve anything else besides seafood! i'm also not sure if i want to eat a steak off an unknown womens vagina lol but i guess you have to try everything once, except for the one thing we wont talk about!
