  1. pipe wrench is WAY easier than any other method... i tried duct tape, rubber gloves... all didnt really work out for me, but the pipe wrench did!

for rolexes i do the following:

i use the HOT-glue pistol and put a drop of HOT glue on the caseback and then press a piece of wood on the glue which is on the caseback. you have to hold it till the glue cools down and is sticky. then just turn and open it. after you're done, simple put the caseback back on (leave it on the wood stick!!!) and then simply remove the wood stick from the caseback, once you screwd it back on the case (hold the watchcase in your hand and press the woodstick upwards)

  3. @ Slay, the owner of the project will see the part, i believe that most of the members here are passionately interested in rep watches, the challenge is to make it as close to gen as possible, that is the fun part. For me personally, i find the challenge of making the watch much more fun than the final outcome. This is a hobby, some people collect stamps and other things, if it was only for the green i would honestly not waste my time here nor searching for watch parts.

i agree (partly). i could fully understand you, if it was a visible part. but even you guys are most likely NOT going to open the caseback every few days, are you? (this would be very bad for the o rings!).

my point is, that something that's not visible is not a part of making something "close to genuine".

An AMG is an AMG. if you take a regular mercedes engine and just put an AMG plate on the engine, it is still not an AMG and will never be an AMG. And noone will even see the AMG plate on the engine, besides a car-dealer or potential buyer. still, buying an AMG body kit, rims and stuff will make your mercedes look like an AMG and sound like an AMG.

and also, i doubt anyone would collect a stamp, where the face of the stamp cannot be seen, because something is on top of it :)

just my opinion, if you guys feel better with that bridge, go ahead and buy it :)

for me only visible/technical improvements! i would even put a poljot movement inside my DW, if the dial would fit, but unfortunatly i think it does not!

  4. compliment i got from a girl (on my fiddy):

"wow, thats a really nice watch! whats that little thing doing?" - its the second hand? - "oh... really? why is it @9o'clock?" - why do women wear lingery? - "are you making fun of me?" - no...! - "anyways, thats a really nice watch!" - thanks! btw. would you gimme 50 more bucks in (poker)chips!

  5. in my opinion it IS [censored]in stupid to invest money in something thats useless and invisible! opinions are like assholes, everyone has one :)

mostppl who try to get bridges, rotors and other crap which would only be seen by a watchmaker who opens the watch, are usualy trying to rip ppl off with that and/or trying to show 'em of on gen-forums! see the discussion about the rotor for the pam063 ( http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1784&hl= )!

but if you have the money and dont care to wasted it - hey, who am i to tell you not to?

I just think its [censored]in stupid, thats it :)

but if you dont think so, i'd be willing to sell you my invisible genuine 6263 Rolex! and i only want 200$! :)

  6. This is an Ollech and Wajs chronograph with a problem: a previous owner went for a swim, and the movement is now rusted. The valjoux 72 movement (same as in Rolex daytona / cosmograph) is in bad condition, and maybe only good for parts, I do not know.It definately will not run in this condition, parts have to be replaced.

lol that guy for sure is telling some [censored]! looks like he got the watch on ebay and tried to fix it for his own project, and after it didnt work out, he lists the item himself

    w. do you guys know of any movement besides the valjoux 23 that has the same subdial spacing? 7734 maybe? or vj 22,21,92 ?

  7. Then in order to remove the caseback, take your caseback remover, or rubber gloves/duck tape, whatever you use and twist, COUNTER clockwise:

OH!!! you said DUCK tape! Watch out for the little brick coming around the corner and bitchslapping you!

    :)

    btt: great tutorial!

  8. Now, if I owned a shop and was paid by a stolen credit card, the credit card company would still pay, and the card company would take the loss! So, why should I or you lose???

that is not correct. the store HAS to take the loss, and NOT the credit card company!
