just what I was looking for... two questions though: im curious to how you can tell the difference between rep springbars and gen springbars.... is there much difference (physically and visually... i mean cmon a springbar is a springbar or no)? Also, i noticted that you included the ETA movement. Did you buy your MBW and scrap out the stock movement with a new one?

I want to start a project soon - getting an MBW and putting gen parts on it (prob sub or sea-dweller not sure yet). I'm looking around on ebay (the best place to find gen parts right?) and I see that people are selling gen dials for $300... Is that a right price? I would expect a dial to run in the $600-$700 range... What do you people think a gen bezel or crown would cost? I'm guessing a gen band 316L probably gonna be in the $1000 range... sounds about right?

Will we stop seeing ETA movements in our reps around then? Anyone know whats going on about this? Is there another movement out there better than ETA if this truely does happen?

I was searching through youtube for rolex videos (theres quite a lot of amusing ones) and came across this video: In the vid the people look like they are at some kind of store but if you look closely theres a crap load of reps all over the place... Do they have no law enforcement over there or do stores just freely sell like that?

Is it me or does the green bezel always seem to make the dial look like a light black? With the black bezel it seems to always keep the dial a darkish color...

Which brings me to a question regarding shipping (specifically to the US)... Say if we did request a watch, and it was stopped by customs... can't we deny the whole thing and not reply to the letter that customs sends to us? Whats the worse that can happen? Whats the penalty for getting rep watches in the US? I also agree with you on that one, we truely need to go be more low key espically on search engines and so on...

Yeah, normally when you see that it goes to City of Shanghai and then to another hub in another country (i.e. LAX), thats odd that it went right back to its original source location. Shanghai is always China's main international hub before it exits the country

I heard that banks and credit cards do cash advance because moneybookers is used widely in gambling and crediting your account is the same thing as throwing down money...

I just joined yesterday morning and I have to say.... this is one hell of a forum, so many posts and tutorials from a lot of people. I've been buying reps (3 so far - day date, submariner and a noobmariner) from a couple dealers in RC and never had a problem. I don't really know much about watch modding but thats why I joined this forum because of all the tutorials i stumbled across... One of my goals of 2007 is to take up a new hobby - rep modding... It feels great to be part of a community of people that share the same interests in me, and this forum looks rather promising
