  1. Nice watch Mike. You should think about a Marathon. What a 'Tool' Diver. I miss mine.

    http://www.marathonwatch.com/product/JDD

The movement in this watch is completely made in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland for Marathon, it is a Sellitta SW220 modified!

Stainless steel case: 46mm diameter x 17mm thick with uni-directional bezel (120 click), crescent shaped sapphire crystal and screw-down crown.

  2. My newest acquisition a Graham Chronofighter Oversize Diver Tech Seal on an after-market strap.

I love this strap because is very flexible and the chrome side-bars add a little extra touch. The factory

strap is very thick and not as flexible.

  3. A fellow army guy :D

I was Air Force, but don't hold that against me. B52 Crew Chief. Yes, I'm an old guy I guess.

My youngest (Daughter) is in now, along with her husband. They both are in Security Forces, going on their 5th year already!

    I couldn't be a prouder Dad! :good:

  4. I like it, but I just wished they used Black printing on the dial (so you can read it) and just make sure no matte black

parts of the camo paint is over the dial printing. Otherwise I like it, a lot!

Or they could use white printing and make sure to use the black painting sections over the white printing.

  5. For me, it's a journey I think most of us take after being here a while. I've wanted the classic 16610 lug-hole cased sub for a long time. I was about to jump on a rep, but after reading more and more about every little detail / tell I thought I was going to spend just a 'little bit' more and have a nicer rep built. I started gathering the parts and even had most of the parts with my builder when it hit me. It's still not going to 'really' satisfy me. So before it was even done getting built, I started a new Franken build. See my other post under the Rolex section on 'My 1st Real Franken Sub'. I wanted to be able to look at My watch and see nothing but 'almost' all gen parts. As others have already said, gen parts have a look that the reps just can't duplicate. The real dial & hands are so much better than what the reps have out. I did not build it to try and fool anyone else.  But I do know if anyone happens to look at it, they will have no idea it's not 100% real. Plus I spent about 45% of the cost for the same thing in a 100% gen. Another plus for me is, now if it needs work, I have many options / modders that can fix it for a hole lot cheaper than if I had a gen. Just because I can afford gen sub, I really don't want to spend $500 just for a cleaning. I understand all of the work that Rolex puts into a service, but that doesn't change the cost they charge.
    I couldn't be happier now.

    Thanks,
    Dave...

  6. Dave - I like your Deep-See Sea-Dweller shirt. But what happened to the missing 'D'?

HA, HA. Well I sold my DSSD so I guess it went with it!

Most of my shirts are monogrammed & or French Cuffed too.

I work in a Corporate office with over 500 people and here its been Business Casual dress for years!

I'm just about the only guy that wears a tie M-T, Friday is still Jean Day!
