  1. i'm new to this as well.... my second rep is here: my PO 42mm ETA its from Trusty (number two in the top sellers on that site) I am very happy with this watch strongly recommend buying a few tools to help resize the strap quickly and easily
  2. heh heh didnt notice that was too busy taking photos, thanks! i was worried about leaving the movement open to the elements
  3. my second rep, first was a reasonably cheap SMP from MBK (
  4. i just got a 4th gen 42mm ETA PO from Andrew at trusty, looks great so far but i'll post in more detail in a few days time after i have adjusted the strap and got used to it, nice build quality posted from china but as long as you dont mind the wait its not too much hassle, first time it got rejected by customs so Andrew resent in a small toy and it got through ok, takes a few weeks if customs give hassle but who cares when you are saving 90% of gen price
  5. that's a great shot! i'll be wearing my pumpkin PO as well this weekend, literally just arrived from Andrew, took a while but first inmpressions are very good! i will post some pics in the omega area when i get around to it
  6. thanks for that, i was getting disappointed with the website
  7. hehe didn't think i'd be that lucky he has very resonable prices then, cause the overall quality is very good for the price i must say glad its only an avg rep as i am hoping the PO i have on order will knock me socks off should do does silix only do the cheaper reps or are his prices THAT good?
  8. interesting, i am very happy with this rep so far do you think its up there with the $200 reps from the dealers websites (aside from the asian movement, lume and print issues of course)? i am still awaiting my first dealer sourced rep (PO 42mm 4th Gen Swiss ETA)
  9. yeah not sure on whether its a proper replica, but 9 times of of ten 10 i bet avg people will be initially fooled and impressed when i tell them its a fake (won't let them have a detailed look before springin the surprise)
  10. thanks i am hoping the PO i have on order (with orange bezel) will be good for casual as well, the colour will be sporty and this SMP for work without drawing too much attention, i'm not into too flashy watches the movement is automatic but its definately asian and the seconds hand isn't rolex smooth but what can you expect for only 40 smackers
  11. These are rushed shots but they give you an idea of the watch. Bought it in MBK for THB 2800 (approx GBP 42 or USD 84). It was the first stall I visited and it turns out that I had amazing luck, good quality/price compared to most vendors in BKK and also most reps are absolute rubbish out there unless you trawl through mountains of watches to get to the good stuff (as advised by board members) some stalls wanted THB 6000 for this watch, cheeky! Nearly bought a moon watch at the same stall but decided to save my cash for shopping in Chiang Mai, big mistake, if you find a good stall stick with it! As you can see it has the usual problems such as mis-aligned bezel and logo print issues but all in all I am extremely happy with this watch. Good weight, great strap and its been very accurate over the three weeks I have had it so far... Oh and the lume is a joke, only the hands make any attempt and they are very weak. Still for the money its not bad, it will be my daily. Waiting on a Swiss ETA PO 42mm from Andrew which should trump this one easily but customs didnt like the rep box sent it straight back to China. Andrew is going to re-send without the box.
  12. yeah i just saw the santos 100 in a local shop, its massive!
  13. don't worry, just wear your rep and enjoy it only dealers have any chance of major problems whats the worst that can happen to a collector? bye bye watch(es) and maybe a fine ooooo dangerous lifestyle, will James Bond track us down?
  14. yeah and the CIA have a satellite tracking you as we speak, watch out
  15. have a search through the dealers section of the forums for their websites and have a browse there is also a section on the techie side of things like movements, i came across a good article recently that described all the major movements etc.... i havent been here very long at all but i know that the search function is the key
  16. thanks for the info everyone the strap actually looks really cool in the photos, shame the quality is not great then do you know roughly how much a gen strap for a Santos retails at? and are they easy to get hold of without attracting too much attention from Cartier or their dealers? i really like this watch and even if the strap ain't cheap i am seriously tempted to get one as a dress/work watch -- UPDATE -- found this post from lollipop, gen strap looks good http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...l=cartier+strap but this non-gen strap by HKTAN looks good as well, prob save a lot of money going this route http://www.rwg.cc/members/Cartier-Santos-1...rap-t11629.html
  17. Silix has this nice looking version... http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1690 I really like the Santos Chrono but they don't seem to be very popular on the forums. Is there a reason for this? i.e. quality usually = crap etc... thanks
  18. i have the omega box etc on order from Andrew haven't received it yet, will let you know how good it is
  19. yup, imagine what they could have achived without franco surpressing 'em!!
  20. don't know about you but i thought the atmosphere in the camp nou was crap compared to anfield i visited the stadium on a weekend trip to barca, very impressive size 'n all but the trophy cabinet wasn't as impressive as the guide thought
  21. we won it five times......we won it five tIIIIiiiiIImes! :1a: :1a: great away performance, barca will be better in the next leg though
  22. naa don't go for either, Audi is the way forward, A4 is in your bracket
  23. sorry, but to me that watch just looks plain silly, you would need the massive wrists of a blind scout leader to carry that watch off
  24. exactly, true class has left many of the big brand names if you ask me
