Love the patina on the MK1 long E dial.
Love the hands, insert and the case is indeed slimmer than the 1680.
There is no better feeling than building a gen Rolex part by part.
Another awesome project man.
CongratzI hate to be the bearer of bad news but ... Judging by the picture, that retaining ring is not gen. Sorry,, Nice Try

Looks Amazing.. wow
I love the Creamy Lume color
I love the faded insert
Good Choice in using TC Hands.. best you're going to get to gen.
Good Choice in using Athaya 702.. best you're going to get to gen.
I would use a plain White Date Wheel as the red's came with a white date wheel.
Silver Brushed Dates came later on white 1680's.
May I ask where you obtained your bezel? Not the insert but the actual SS Bezel.

Blurry pics and the business end of the dial is covered by hand.

Welcome. Love your story. Looking forward to your build progress

Anyone know if the seller is a member of this community?

absolutely amazing build and a great write up.
One of the best frankens I've ever seen... ever.
You need to take some wrist shots with the bond strap !!

Please do not re-quote an entire set of pics just to add a line or 2 below it. Thanks.

It was my favorite 4 out of 16 pictures

How long did it take D?

Personally watching the market, I've seen my fair share of gens with missing serials and they sell usually for 50% under the market value, if at all.
I personally believe that this information should have been transparent during the sale of the watch.

I love this forum but I would never ever buy a gen from here.
You must ask yourself... why would someone sell a gen rolex on a Replica Forum?
Replica Forums are a dumping grounds for fakes and frankens and most sellers are selling pieces to move onto gens or other projects.
This means that if you are unhappy with your purchase, the money is already gone or spent.
There are many legitimate venues to buy a Gen.
TRF (The Rolex Forum), VRM (Vintage Rolex Market), HQMilton (Jacek, Awesome guy to deal with), 10PastTen (Eric Ku, who is also the owner of VRF)
All gen parts 7928 PCGs build...

Wow great looking 7928
Love the patina... almost tropical..
Love that Hodinkee strap and faded insert... fits the look
Any plans to complete the build with a FF insert and 700?
