  1. I don't understand the logic behind the 'investment' aspect. If I like a watch, I wouldn't then sell it (even if it's price appreciated), because I'd then be minus the watch I liked. I can appreciate 'babysitting' a watch to pass on, but again, that is not going to be sold... On the issue of the poll, I'd take the rep and cash any day. Why spend more for something just because it's 'gen', than something which will do the exact same thing: Tell the time. And, unless it has glaringly obvious flaws in construction, look perfectly nice and presentable.
  2. I'm an art consultant. I work for myself, and wear whatever I like whenever I like In the past, I've gone to client meetings in Casios, and reps of Rolexes, Omegas and PAMs (not all at once, of course ) To date, I've never had a client comment on the watch I was wearing, or even appear to notice... Infact, the only person to ever spontaneously comment on my watch, was a friend. If you're working in an office, I'd say consider these points: 1. What does the majority wear? 2. Do you want to blend in with the majority, or stand out? I remember reading that, in office politics, don't dress like your boss. Dress like your boss's boss, as that shows a more 'longterm' and professional attitude.
  3. Why the pin stripes? Well, my father in law and I are going to see a solicitor today, to put the smackdown on someone (legally speaking) so I figured it wouldn't hurt to dress appropriately Okay, so I won't be taking guns, but other than that, this is pretty much what I'm wearing right now
  4. I have a couple of straps which are btween 4-5mm thick, but, I think the trick is to wear them with standard pre V buckles, as, being thinner and more curved, they draw the eye back to the strap 'quicker' than the chunkier buckles, which can simply 'terminate in a step' down to the strap, which is slightly less easy on the eye.
  5. On a totally unrelated note, what's the car?
  6. Out of curiousity, what didn't you like about it? I felt there were parts of the series (what I've seen so far) which were as good, if not better, than Rise of the Machines.
  7. Thanks for the information I figured that titanium might've been the way to go, but wondered about PVD, and if it might have been a possibility Thanks, that's interesting to know Might be cheaper for me to suggest a titanium watch
  8. There are clearly folks here who know the technical ins and outs of PVD, so I wondered if anyone might be able to answer a question for me. I have a friend who cannot wear SS due to nickel reaction. Would a PVD coating make the watch 'wearable' for them (by creating a barrier between their skin and the SS) or, would the coating itself be likely to trigger the reaction? Thanks in advance
  9. I guess most pilots are a bit shabby, but most series do pick up afterwards She's certainly an incentive

Ahh, the time consuming fiddly stuff Awesome work
  11. So these 'A's are wrong? Again, not that I realy care, in terms of 1:1 replication, I'm just trying to clarify how they should or shouldn't be
  12. Same as last time I'm really liking this combo

Awesome, what did you do? I liked how he played the part, and I'm a big fan of his other movies (I can watch L4yer Cake repeatedly and enjoy it more and more each time) I just felt he didn't look close enough to Fleming's descriptions. If they'd just died his hair black, all would have been fine

Looks like some good articles in that mag, I might have to get it. Not too sure about 'the haircut you have to get' though... Loose fitting watches are okay, that's just a personal preference, but, wearing it with a tight metal bracelet?? That watch is going to grind and scrape over it constantly Like nails down a chalk board
  15. But high or low? This is my confusion. My 127 has low crossbars. Is this correct? (Not that I actually care about 1:1 accuracy, I'm just trying to find out if it's correct or not )
  16. If it's of any help (for future reference, should anything happen) Mine's the 0117 case. The crystal was advertized as sapphire, 'thunks' rather than 'tinks', and water droplets stay beaded rather than spreading, so I think it's safe to say that it is indeed sapphire.
  17. [Edit due to re-reading of goods being replacements rather than original consignment]
  18. I guess it's a male thing... Indeed, some women don't care, but, there are also some real 'Size Queens' out there who make a huge deal about only wanting Monster C0cks, ie 9", 10" and more etc... When guys hear about people like that, it's no wonder they can get complexes about size issues... I guess it's a bit like small-busted women who envy women with larger attributes, where the women who are more generously endowed, often complain about back pain and discomfort while running. I guess it's just a case of the grass always looking greener from the other size (and it not actually being so)
  19. If it's a two-parter, chances are there'll be a season 2 (fingers crossed ) I liked the third, but wasn't as impressed with it as I was with Judgement Day. I think it would've been better if Cameron had been directing it, but all in all, I quite liked it Apparently, he had a nightmare while filming in Rome about a machine coming out of the fire to kill him, and Terminator was the result. As a point of interest, Summer Glau's character was named after him
  20. Well, you know what they say... When you're used to things being big... I wear reps because I'm too tight to pay retail costs on gens (and don't want to sell a kidney just to get a real 127 )
  21. Here're my gens I don't have this one any more, but, it was a really nice watch (and the analogue/digital displays synched better than my X-33 rep) It also had an awesome 'indiglo' nightlight Once the battery died, I bought the Casio dive watch
