Looking for mid pin (spring bar type) for a TAG HEUER clasp
TmeShare replied to AMK000's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
One of the best things I did when I started playing with watches is bought a containers of spring bars that range from 5mm to 22mm. You can find them on e-bay and it is a worthwhile investment. Most watch shops do not carry really small or really large sizes. TimeShare -
Look forward to my blue dial version but I half suspect that the bezel blue and the dial blue are different colors of blue. I will see soon. The black version is perhaps the safe version. TimeShare

Never knew that a repgeek site existed. Can it be trusted? Only know TRC and RWG and reluctant to join and post. Thoughts? TimeShare

Is there any technical reason that anyone is aware of as to why the Cartier Roadster Chronograph has not been reproduced using the Asian 7750 high beat (28,800) movement? TimeShare

Can't emphasize enough folks, when you get a Breitling on a bracelet check all of bracelet screws. I have found screws just attached and have learned to check all the screws. In fact, as long as you are fairly consistent in weight and do not gain or lose a large amoutn of weight and do not need to remove or add links I would loctite all bracelet screws. I have been amazed how quickly they can loosen. In terms of new screws try a Breitling authorized dealer. Some have them in stock, wear another none Breitling watch when you go to the AD, they may help as you look like a potential customer with several high end watches!! TimeShare

I see that there is a new Bell & Ross BR01-92 being sold by many sellers and the claim is that it has a real ETA movement in the watch. Does any one know if this is correct? The prices on these watches seems way too low to have a real ETA movement OR is this like the 1st round of the BR01-92 watch which sellers claimed had an ETA moevment only to be discovered that it is a cheap movement. How to remove bracelet from Carrera SS?
TmeShare replied to scoobs1971's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I located an OEM Tag Heuer perforated strap that was fitted to the case and a Tag Heuer Deploy and after all that work, like you I decided the SS bracelet looked the best.........oh well, one has to try these experiments, sometine they work!! TimeShare -
How to remove bracelet from Carrera SS?
TmeShare replied to scoobs1971's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Get a spring bar remover or pointed tool and pull back the sping bars and wiggle the link which attaches to the watch case and the bracelet will come off. I would advise that you leave the spring bars in the bracelet and use new spring bars. Why leave the sping bars in the bracelet? Experience has shown me that they may be slightly bent to keep the link close to the case and if you remove the spring bars you may have a fit problem when you go to put the bracelet back on. Spring bars are cheap and I think this watch (Carrera) uses 20mm spring bars if my memory is correct. TimeShare -
Super reps? Unless this is a new workout term it sure does not apply to recent watches. The recent rash of so-called "super reps" or higher quaity reps (more accurate) are few and far between. Seems like most of the higher quality reps came from Taiwan and now most watches (notice I did not use quality or super) come from China. As examples, the much anticipated AP ROO Chronograph, Big Bang, and Chopard Grand Turismo were highly touted and greatly disappointing. Each has had major quality issues well documented on the Board. The only exception recently has been the IWC Pilot Chronograph which, whiel delayed, ended up being well worth the wait from the quality prespective. For me the hype from some sellers, on in particular, has far exceeded the quality of the watches in the end. More Taiwan reps please leave the lower end quality, dare I say junk, in China!! TimeShare

I agree with the posts that the Breitling Bentley is an eye catching watch. I have the watch in black and white dials and 90% of the time I receive comments or questions about the watch(es) when I wear it. In addition, I have found them to be a high quality rep (i.e.: excellent screw down crown). Another choice would be a square watch like the Monaco which catches folks eyes because of the shape but there are no good reps of this watch, that I am aware of. TimeShare

Chopard GTXL on Gator Strap from Watch Prince
TmeShare replied to section8's topic in Other Brands Area
Nice. I did something silimar on mine. I put a 24mm Hirsch Carbon Fibre like strap with Red stitching on the watch and an aftermarket deploy on the watch. Yes, the Chaopard is 23mm but a 24mm will fit. The Chopard deploy cannot be used on another strap and while the Chopard deploy buckle is nice the rubber strap feels really cheap. TimeShare -
I received mine today and was quite disappointed also. The jerking second hand grabs your attention and undermines an overall good dial. The strap looks cheap and the keepers are really cheap. I will be looking for a replacement which will not be easy as it appear that the strap is 23mm in width not 22 or 24? I have had enough disappointments with rep watch lately to give this hobby up!! When I did mine I found that the end links fit very tight in the case (well done, nice to see a rep with such a close tolerance). Pull back one spring bar and wiggle the end link. Once the spring bar is out of one side, do the same with the other side. Once both sides of the spring bars are out of the case you can pull the link straight out. I removed my bracelet and then tried on a few straps and went back to the bracelet again. TimeShare

It is the square shape that gets the attention. I have a BR-01 and a Monaco and both of those watches get more notice and comments than any round watch I own, even Panerai. The only round watch that I receive comments about is the Breitling Bentley, and it is the thickness of the watch not the case size that gets interest. TimeShare

Nice and thick strap with an aviation heritage has to be the Di-Modell Chronissimo strap. No contest, take a look at the strap. Here is one on e-bay but the wrong size. You need a 22mm which should fit a 21mm with a bit of work. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-18mm-Di-Modell-AVI...1QQcmdZViewItem TimeShare

I was approached by someone looking at my watch...
TmeShare replied to Usil's topic in General Discussion
I had an opposite experience. Where I live 99.9% of folks don't know high end watches other than say Rolex. I was at a function and a gentleman came up and compliemented me on my watch (that evening it was a replica Tag Heuer Carrera, black dial, red hands on the rubber strap with tag deployant buckle). I told the person that it was a replica and through about an 8 minutes conversation he refused to believe it was a replica and kept saying "Don't worry I won't tell anyone how much a Tag Heuer costs" and "I have looked at that watch at the Jewellers and there is no way that is a fake". To this day, I think this gentleman thinks that the watch is real and that I was trying to be modest by informing him that it is a replica......go figure!! TimeShare -
Is it the font or the alignment. I have this watch and there was no alignment problem with the day and date. TimeShare

Screws arrangement for AP Royal Oak Chronograph
TmeShare replied to TmeShare's topic in General Discussion
Watcher, much thanks for the photo and follow-up. Even though I have an bracelet on the way I will probably leave the rubber strap on mine based on the weight and frustration factor of messing with the screws. The person who put mine together was really hard on the screws for the strap and the caseback screws (it looks like he/she tried to do it with a too small of a screw driver and wearing wool mits). I look forward to the missing screw arriving so I can wear my watch, real surprised the watch with was shipped as the one lug (where the screw is missing) sticks up and does not sit flush. There is no way this could have been missed by the person wrapping it to be shipped. I ordered a few screw pins from Ofrei which are said to be for Panerai but are not the regular panerai pins, the ones I ordered have a long screw pin and then a shorter screw pins. These pins are wider at the end and taper down, you can see a picture at http://www.ofrei.com/page888.html. If they work they would be a source for future replacement. I will let your know. Screws arrangement for AP Royal Oak Chronograph

Watcher, jsut to confirm these are the screws in the case not the screws that go through the rubber strap, correct? TimeShare -
Screws arrangement for AP Royal Oak Chronograph
TmeShare replied to TmeShare's topic in General Discussion
Thanks watcher. I got an AP ROO Chrono on a rubber strap and one screw was missing, was trying to figure out if some others I had would work. Caertainly not easy screws to remove as I tried on the other side and decided against trying it. I bought an extra bracelet for the watch that is probably useless to me as these screws are best not messed with!! TimeShare -
Does anyone know if the screws that attach the 2 links from the case to the strap are 2 short screws or 1 long screw pin (with a screw head) attached by a smaller screw head on the other side? I am trying to remove the screw on mine and have a bugger of a time!! TimeShare

AP ROO Chronograph with High Beat Asian 7750 (28,800)?
TmeShare posted a topic in General Discussion
Do any of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronographs watches have the newer High Beat Asian 7750 with 28,800 beats? I ask this as I have seen one with a blue dial on a rubber strap that some sellers (i.e: trusty) have labelled as having the high beat new Asian 7750 or are they all the old and unreliable Asian 7750 movement?
