  1. While the Blue Aquaracer looks good on the metal bracelet I am starting to wonder what it would look lik on a black or dark navy blue sharkskin or gator strap. Anyone try this yet and if so any pictures? RaceMaster
  2. Here are the first pics taken less than one hour ago. Try to post more pics with box and package. I got the same watch this week, only down side was the dial has less illumination then the regular B-Uhr they sell with the unitas movement. However, I love the lack of a logo on the dial and the thicker case is nice. TimeShare
  3. Make sure the ladies know your talking about a watch!! Enjoy, TimeShare
  4. Saw this on You Tube..........home made Big Pilot ad Timeshare
  5. Perhaps the bloody gloves from his murder trial were also made of vinyl, which is why he could not get them on!! Too bad the murders weren't fake!! TimeShare
  6. Yes, the Aquaracer Chronograph has the toughest link pins to remove. The Tag Heuer Carrera use to be the hardest and now the Aquaracer Chronograph has garnered this dubious award!! I have both watches and it is possible to remove the links yourself but you need the proper watch link removal tool (see the attached link): http://cgi.ebay.com/WATCH-BAND-LINK-PIN-AD...1QQcmdZViewItem If link above does not work enter item number 320160015170 in e-bay advance search. If you look at the pictures of this link remover on e-bay it is very different from the ordinary link remover. This link remover has 3 interchangable pins that fit into the end of the remover. Again, in the picture you will see that one of the pins is much longer than the other 2. This longer pin is the one that need to be used for the Carrera and Aquaracer link pins. This longer tool works with no problem on the Carrera pins and when you have inserted the long pin as far as it will screw in you can remove the pin by hand. In the case of the Aquaracer, the longest pin is still not long enough to push all of the pin out of the link but it is far enough that it can be easily pulled out with a pair of pliers without damaging the link pins. Trust me, buy this link pin remover, it is far superior to the other ones on e-bay and well worth the few dollars!! TimeShare
  7. Nice Bvlgari.........is this the 44mm wide version or the smaller case size? TimeShare
  8. I have the Tag Heuer Monaco Automatic Chronograph (Black Dial) and have never regretted buy that watch. I get compliments whenever I wear it and unlike other real watches I have bought and regretted this is not the case with the Monaco. Keep in mind the non-chronograph Monaco has a smaller case than the chronograph 38-39mm versus 40-41mm. TimeShare
  9. I have the same 69 and it is the best one out there rigth now. By "best" I do not mean accurate just the best of the bunch. Here are a few areas where the watch is not accurate: - red second hand - Ticking second hand (regular watch face is a automatic mechnical watch). - screws at the four corners of the case front. When the watch is flipped over to the digital side the non-accurate items are: - the "Tag Heuer" label on the bottom right hand corner should be engraved in case, - crown is more ornate than the orginal. On the positive side the mechanism that allows the watch face to be flipped is good and the watch stays put and does not come loose out of the case. There are version of this watch without the red second hand but they have other problems. TimeShare
  10. You will see in a number of reps that the spring bars are not straight and have been bent by the installer to get them to fit into the lug holes in the case. It is simply a matter that the holes in the case were not properly located to meet the springs bars (once they are in the bracelet). Not ideal but I would say 50% of the rep watches I buy are like this. Tip: If the spring bars are bent do not take them out of the bracelet if you decide to take the bracelet out and use a strap. Leave the sping bars in the bracelet and tape them so they do not fall out. If you take them out to use with the strap OR mix them in with other spring bars it may be difficult to install the bracelet again!! TimeShare
  11. How about anything bling, void of real style or substance, to match Cadillac's image..............a Jacob on a pink strap!! TiemShare
  12. I had the same problem on my Carrera. Unfortuntely, in my case the pusher fell off when I was on my way to work and therefore I could not re-attach. I had a cartain well know watch repair person source out and rettach the pusher. Based on the information I was given if you have this watch open the case back and glue those pushers on as the clip will fail it is just a matter of time and use. TimeShare
  13. I have a Cartier Santos 100 Chronograph from EL, does anyone have this watch and do you know if the strap is attached by screws or pins that look like screws? TimeShare
  14. Having bought items from around the world I have found that EMS (Express Mail) from China typically takes 3-5 days to show results after a seller has provided a tracking number. Any ideal why OR are sellers giving a tracking number and then look for watch? TimeShare
  15. Yes, it can be a challenge to locate information on watches on the Forum as the information is prevalent when the watch is released and is in vogue and then the information gets lost as we all move onto the next big thing!! TimeShare
  16. Here is the info from my previous post: The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph bracelet is identical to the OEM, and very similar to Omega pin system (if that helps at all). The links are attached by a pin that can be removed in either direction, unlike many link pins where there is an arrow on the inside of the bracelet to illustrate the direction that the pin must be removed. The Carrera pins have a small groove in the middle that fits into a sleeve that is inside of the middle link. I am surprised to hear the 2 watchmakers cannot remove the pins/links as I am certainly no watchmaker and had no problems. There is no special Tag Heuer tool needed but you will need a watch pin remover. E-bay is a good source for these tools and it is a good investment, particularly if you plan to have many watches. The watch pin remover I use is like the one in e-bay auction 120082344138 (I am not the seller, do not know the seller I just did a quick search on e-bay for you and found the one I own). The watch pin remover you want should have as long a pin as possible so that you can push the link pin out of the link as far as possible. When you have a watch pin remover insert the pin into the hole in the side of the link and turn the dial on the watch pin remover, if you have one with a long pin you will evenualy feel/hear a snap and that means that the Carrera link pin has been pushed out of the sleeve and you can now use a plier to remove the pin the rest of the way and seperate the bracelet. If you turn the bracelet to the side a small sleeve will slide out from the middle link. Remove as many links as need and do the reverse to push the link pins back in. If you do not want to buy the tool the other option is to try the watch on and guess how many links you need to remove and then remove the watch from the bracelet and go to a Tag Heuer delaer with just the bracelet and ask them to remove the number of links that you think you need so that the watch will fit. These is not the best method as your guess on the number of links may or may not be right and the Carrera bracelet has 1/2 and 3/4 links to help you find a near perfect fit. Hope the above makes sense and you get the watch on your wrist.......nothing more frustrating than having a watch and not being able to size it right away and get it on yur wrist (I use to run into this problem myself which is why I bought the watch pin remover)!! Hope this helps, TimeShare
  17. In search function enter just "Carrera SS Bracelet" or "How to adjust Carrera SS Bracelet"......all is answered. TimeShare
  18. Try the search engine for this site, there are a number of posts and explanations on how to get the links out of a Carrera Bracelet. TimeShare
  19. So possibly just a QC flaw rather than a design flaw? No consolation I know.
  20. The Tag Heuer Carrera and the Cartier Santos 100 Chronograph.............own both and "love" both. Watches I bought right away and wished I hadn't?................Tag Heuer Link, Cartier Santos 100, and IWC 3717. TimeShare
  21. Like many on the Board I was thrilled when the Tag Heuer Aquaracer (Day-Date) was released. Always loved the blue dial version and so I promptly ordered one. When I received the watch I was impressed with the watch. However, when I looked under the clasp I noticed that it was held shut by 2 prongs of different lengths. Later I realized, when the clasp keep coming open, that the prongs are not meant to be a different lengths and so really only 1 prong was holding down the clasp. Also, the prongs looked very fragile No big deal I thought, the watch is working so all is fine. The next day the (longer prong) fell out and when I took apart the clasp I discovered that the 2 prongs are only pushed into 2 holes of a similar size, no rivet, no weld, no glue, no epoxy.........no nothing but friction. Thought I would post this discouver so if you have this watch you can pop open the prongs cover (it has 2 holes and fits over the prongs) and glue or epoxy the bottom of the prongs to the surrounding metal. If not, they will probably pop out at some inappropriate time (Murray's Law of Watches "If a problem occurs with your watch you are 1) never at home and 2) don't notice until it is too late"). 22. There are many sources for a few..............try www.banda.com they have ready to sell straps and will do custom straps, also try your seller who may have a strap for the watch. TimeShare
  23. I am interested in the new 44mm ETA Bvlgari Assioma that is out. Has anyone bought the watch? If so I would really like to hear your views and if possible see a wrist photograph of the Assioma. TimeShare
  24. I don't knoe about them being wron by women but I have bought the Santos 100 and the Santos 100 Chronograph. The Santos 100 non-chronograph was really unimpressive in my opinion. It has a fairly thin case, poos strap and overall is not as impressive in person as in the pictures. On the other hand, I love the Santos 100 Chronograph which is wider and thicker than the non-chronograph. The strap on my chronograph was even reasonable, not glaringly fack like on the non-chronograph. Again, not sure about women wearing either watch but for us men I would go for the Santos 100 Chronograph. I got mine from EL. TimeShare
