    can anyone recommend a cartier ballon bleu for the wife? just straight white/silver and no diamonds. seems like they are mostly quartz around $200 range

    thanks, freddy. that's exactly what i think about rep watches being in gold. so i showed her many many non-gold and 2 tone models but she wanted a gold one. her friends are no experts in any means (less so than me) so hopefully it won't show too much. same on jewelry......oh well. you're thoughts help tho very much.

    greetings, i always seem to get more help from this forum than the other. looking to get this for my mom (yes, she knows what it is). does anyone know how the date looks thru the magnifier? comparable to the gen? http://www.p-cls.com/rdjlf10004-pres...12-p-7913.html not into rolex's personally (especially datejust altho i have a gen datejust at wife's behest...) so i'm not familiar with any featuers but i guess, generally, how are the magnification of rep rolex's? i heard gens have magnification of 1.5x but i figure reps these days can easily replicate this feature. no? otherwise, you masters wouldn't be buying them. also, these look identical to me. figured the price is due to dealer difference. but is trusty's a better version? can anyone help? above or http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main...oducts_id=5643

    i got the 3rd pic above. even wife was impressed by that one. she was not into reps but after seeing that one, she wanted me to get her a cartier tank. it's a good looking watch but the strap is cheap compared to gen but that's why it's a rep. still, very pretty and heavy on your wrist.

    i like cartiers but she and her friends are old school so datejust is better to them. one more question, how is the proportion the date inside the magnifier for datejust/daydate (or other rep rolexes)? that would be another obvious givaway

    she does like her watches a bit larger. i think i might have to go that route didn't knwo there was that much a different between the men, women's tank reps.

    powermax, bingo! i'll have to look into the ss's. not sure about mymanmatt as i'm not looking to spend above 300. hopefully somewhere around 200-250 but i'm sure that means quality is a bit lacking. he sounds a bit expensive but i guess asking is free. maybe i'll ask him spec out something. also, i would never rip anyone off ....especially with a gift. haha. i showed her my 2 reps (tag and cartier) that i got with help from this forum and she was very impressed and asked me to look into one. her circle of friends, obviously they're not watch experts, even less so than i'm, so all they really look at is whether the 2nd hand moves correctly. she asked that i don't get anything beyond a couple hundred so i'm looking into the matter. also, another problem might be that she won't be able to take care of the watch. i mean about the auto movement and how not to set the date between 6pm and 3am(?) or something like that. so that's a concern. is there anything out there in ss that is quartz? the 2 recommendations up there by asciwhite would be perfect except she'd want metal straps. i'll start looking around at dealers' but wanted to start off here as i had 2 great buys with your helps. thanks a lot

    wow, thanks guys. she's mid 60's. i think she like stainless steel straps. prefers the gold 2 tone which i don't recommend due to it peeling sooner than later. i like these two a lot tho

    greetings. been just lurking since i join recently. i'm looking for get a rep rolex for my mother and i was wondering which version/model is best? can anyone recommend one? what she considers important is the movement of the second hand that casual lookers consider as the barometer for real vs fake. personally, i'm not into rolexes so i don't know anything about such.... thanks in advance

    yes, i got a ballon bleu from toro and is on it's way home to papa. i went with the ballon bleu because i don't know how to mod anything on the watch outside of changing links/bands. so getting the strap and better corwn was more for santos and i wasn't even sure if i could change out the said crown. anyway, to add to this story a bit, wife is looking for a gen santo but would like an alternative tank rep. so that's why it came down to one of those two choices. currently leaning toward the francaise.

    Hi, so i got my tag link calibre just recently and wife was impressed and she's been wondering if she should get in as well. before this, she would laugh at buying "fakes." we just recently purchased a gen santos but she is considering another mode that is rep, particularly a tank. so my quetion is which model or watch is a great cartier rep for ladies? its seems that most reps are for men. please help.

    I guess i'm stuck with this strap then. i forgot about the way the links are help to the watch. wife would laugh at "fakes." when this one came, she was like "wuh, maybe i should get one." haha.

    so just got this watch and had some trouble resizing but here are the pics. looks pretty good but the logo seems a bit off. the strap is definitely lacking especially compared to my gen. what do you think about this on a leather strap? not sure if leather straps are made for this watch? i really am disappointed in the strap and feel like i'll at least invest in better ones but would rather not spend a ton on link straps. what options do i have?

    well, folks, kinda got it fixed with a pin from another watch. has to forgo the collar and just used the pin but it's not all the way in. at least it's wearable. unless someone wants to see it and tries it on. i'll fess up then. haha. thanks so much for all your help

    with hands, it seems like the pin only fits half way through the collar OH!!!! OK. so i put the collar in the middle of the links, then hammer (yes, small watch hammer) the pin in! but now, i'm missing a pin. haha...... so....where can i get the pin?

    panerai, you might be right. i do have a set of pin removers as well as base for the watch itself among others. that's basically all i know how to do (resize and change batteries). here are the pics. and it looks like there is one pin and one collar. i swear i didn't drop anything but who knows. when i pulled it out, i laid them carefully and saw that both pieces were there throughout.

    thanks, flyr. i think the problem is that the pin is nothing like the one shown in the pics in that post. it's just cheap, straight tube....i'm not sure where to get another 2 of these that'll fit the holes on the clasp. i emailed the TD. no reply yet but we'll see.
