  1. this is actually a tag link. help! that instruction will have to do now i guess. wish there was a video. i found instructions on youtube but maybe different for reps....
  2. so i JUST not got my Tag Calibre 16. looks good and i see why others mod it but i still like to product with some minor imperfections. my problem is that i changed out the links so took pins out to disconnect the clasp. took a couple links off and put it back together but now, the pins are too loose. when the watch is standing on its side, pins (both) will just slip out and in the middle of this chaos, one broke in half. can anyone recommend a remedy for this? not sure what to do here now. Also, i noticed that the back hatch is not clear (see thru) as the pics on the seller page. however, i didn't catch this during the QC pic process. anything i can do about this?
  3. man, i've been eyeing this as someone else posted pics and was VERY happy. but that seems like a lot of work for someone like me who has no idea how to pull apart watches..... most likely will have to reconsider.
  4. hahaha.....got my first leather strap a month ago and i'm tend to sweat a lot. sounds like that'll be me
  5. ken, you're right about that last part. it's a delicate eco system and it takes two to tango. on a lighter note, my first rep cleared customs. any day now!
  6. yes, you are right. i didn't mean to come off as concerned or offended by the term TD or any particular actions from them. i just meant to generally convey that both sides should be able to reasonably expect to reach....for lack of a better term, expectations. sorry if i sounded grumpy but that wasn't the intention. i'm really happy that i found this place which led me to purchasing my first rep. before this, i didn't even know a whole community of those who collect reps even existed.
  7. good point. i'm very new to this so maybe shouldn't have spoken up. but your tone is exactly what i'm referring to, not necessarily the actual "accountability." i meant that as a general term to imply that sellers (of any service) should be accountable for what they sell. counter point might be, as stated in this thread, that we're all just buying reps and to go buy something expensive if we need customer service. but again, OP stated an opinion and i just decided to add my 2 cents as to participate in the forums. but you just confirmed my first sentence above in saying that much emphasis is given on how to be a good buyer. for as long as you have been in the game, i realize that you have seen the changes and how far things have come since you first started. i'm greatful for the sellers who won't cheat you and and forums that assist in this process. still, it's a 2 way street. without the buyers from these forums as well as others, these sellers might be doing something else. they're not AAPL and selling iphones. they're in business due do the demand. so i don't think it's unreasonable to expect some type of customer service whether it's emails or pertaining to what the OP has stated. of course these sellers might get sick of how newbs pick at every little thing as they have been in business for a long time. but to that buyer, especially a newb, that transaction is the only and maybe first/last one he/she makes. i had the same jitters that i was able to put down due to all the help from posts/members from this forum. not everyone is that lucky.
  8. so....which seller is trevor? have mercy, new here still.
  9. nice post. it seems that much weight is given to the so called TDs and instruction given on how to be a good buyer/newb buyer. but accountability must also come from the sellers as well.
  10. hm...interesting. maybe the pricing point wasn't worth the trouble? how long did you have it? (decoded: how long did it run well?)
  11. is this gen or rep? due to the box... if rep, how much and from whom
  12. Update: watch international doesn't have this....
  13. thanks for the tip. i emailed them. since i'm completely new to this, reading through the forums, josh seemed to be reputable (already ordered and waiting for one from him) but pricing is entirely different i'm sure. how are qualities of reps that cheap? i mean versus other reps.
  14. so i've been thinking about this one as i've been looking for a white face with leather strap. http://www.p-cls.com/bm10001-hampton-city-white-asia-auto-p-3420.html the price indicates that it's a lower rep but i'm just curious if anyone knows anything about it. it's automatic so there's that. i'm still a noob so i prefer a simpler movement that could run longer. anyway, anyone know anything about this rep or any information regarding how good of a rep it is?
  15. thanks, icoopernicus. do you have winders for this (and othe reps) or just keep winding?
  16. thanks for the advice, ceejay. and i'll have to remember the 6:30 rule. is there a reason for having to do it this way? i was told not to set the date between 8pm and 3am. this is so hard....haha
  17. you're right. i asked for the watch. any tips on upkeep (oiling and such) would be appreciated. i heard no to set date between 8pm and 3am?
  18. if not for this forum, i would have bought a monaco (with black face not blue). but guess will hold off till i know it's a good rep. thanks for this post. the tag link automatic eta looks delish
  19. i bought a Tag Calibre 16 from Josh and posted the QC pics. then discovered, with some help, that the 6 hr mark is a bit crooked and the rest of the hour markers are uneven with their spacing from the edge (right side markers have more space and the left side markers are right on the edge). so i mentioned this to josh who said he'll correct. he sent 2nd set of QC pics which i told him has the same problem and now the 3rd set of pics....same thing! pics below. so my question is whether i just need to accept the watch or what do i do here? i understand that being too aggressive to TD's is not good and i should be patient but then do i just accept the watch as it is? what is the norm or protocol here for something like this? pics comparisons below. 3 sets of qc pics sorted by angle. please understand i'm not trying to make this difficult but just trying to figure out what the protocol is. i do understand that this is a rep and am not looking for the perfect watch like gens but i thought that the looks should be good. this was a "not-lite" version as the price was $260.
  20. wow, a lot of good info. never owned an automatic....and wont' be wearing this every day. so that being said... 1. how do i know whether the time is between 8pm to 2am (or 3) or 8 AM and 2 PM without actually changing the date? 2. so as not to change the date/time frequently, would a winder be recommended? i guess my quesetion is whether on a rep, does the auto actually last to warrant a winder? i'm a complete newbie here so....i would have basically just got it, wore it, constantly changed the date and then finally broke it and toss it. this is really good to know.
  21. yes, it has the asian 7750. can you tell me how to set the date? good thing you mentioned. i had no idea the procedure was different.
  22. Just pull the trigger on this one and both excited and nervous about my first watch. 260 plus shipping from Josh. below are qc pics of which i requested to have the hour markers readjusted. will post more pics when i get it.
  23. Welcome to the forums xsxces :)
