1. Thanks bro, will get in touch with him!! Cheers for that.
 2. Will you service my watch Rolexman. We all know your the best, and your my preferred option. Lol I can work with your timescale, so willing to wait! Pm me if ok. Thanks
 3. Yeh I looked at the EU guys, but it looks like they are all pretty busy. I would send it to MD2020 but I can't risk it getting seized on the way in, I got too much money in it to lose.
I may send it to this guy, he certainly has an excellent reputation, and is willing to help me out, which is appreciated. Might as well stick to the movement in it and see what he says and go from there I guess.
 4. Will a ETA 7750 fit straight into a DW case and dial? I didn't think it would?

Do master watchmakers command a premium?
 5. Hi guys,
A master watchmaker has quoted me $359 + any parts needed for a full service of my DW Daytona.
It seems expensive, however I am running out of options here in the UK.
He is a master watchmaker willing to do my rep!

Is it good value?

Cheers
 6. Yeh we get around don't we! Sent from SUNRAY MINOR

 11. Agree, I understand that it does, the seller is very upfront and honest about the movement, I don't mind spending the money, as its a long term watch for me.
IMO it is a reasonable price, what would the full strip down and repair cost look like approximate??

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR

 13. Hi guys,

Team, i need advice and help please on this movement, as I am not technically proficient if this will fit in my DW Spinmaster 6263 and I want to get in right, it will need some work.

Here are the details on the movement I have been offered from a great member here:

V72
Movement Diameter 29.5m
Disc: The V72 needs a detent (the part that holds the stem in the movement), a tap 10 (.9mm) stem so a rolex crown will work, and it has one broken case screw, plus it needs a thorough cleaning/oiling/adjustment of the levers etc. I also have a new mainspring that goes with it.
The movement is held in place by two big head screws that butt against the caseback when it is screwed down. One of these screws is broken off but chances are it will come out easily when the movement is buzzed in an ultrasonic cleaning machine.

What do you guys think, ok to proceed?

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 14. Thanks guys, I am looking at something now, will chime in when I get more indie to ask for your feedback, cheers

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR

 16. Hi guys,
I may look to replace the movement in my DW Spinmaster 6263, is this the correct movement I should get? Looks like a good price?

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 17. Thanks Freddy, will do this morning, will be interesting to see what he says about the watch? Lol Cheers Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 18. Yeh I do like the look, I think it makes it more " Gen original " look considering the real deal is now 43 years old! Will take your advice first, if not, I'll PM you again! Lol Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 19. Yeh your right, geez didn't see that there were hour markers missing, it was sold as a vintaged dial done by Spin. Also all mods were done by spin, however I don't know how long ago. Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 20. Actually you may be right regarding that magnetizing, the seller did say the shipping may do that. I brought the watch as a DW Spinmaster watch, it apparently has a new serviced movement, which I don't doubt, because the seller is a fantastic guy so no reason to distrust there.
I have emailed Rolexman to ask if he may re-service it and give it the fix it needs.

How do you de-magnitize a watch?

Thanks guys, it was a big investment, so want to get it right as it will be my daily watch.
Cheers

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 21. Also it seems to be gaining 5min per hour.
I pulled out to first position, and wound approx 30 times forward. Pulled out to last position and set time.

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 22. Hi guys, well just got my Daytona today and "WOW" what a watch.
First time I have had a chrono, especially a expensive one.

Any tips on the proper way to wind, how many times, do they have a slip mech so you don't overwind?
Any tips/tricks on owning this bad boy would be really great!
Now for a pic....

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 23. At the end of the day, Dutchys been here for 6 odd years and has nearly 1000 posts, I think I know whom I would trust, the other guys just a [censored]. Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
 24. To be honest, every watch I ever brought second hand had a problem of some sort of another when it arrived , hey it's a replica made in china after all with low quality qc checking. This guy needs to man up, if he wants champange service on a beer budget, he's dreaming. Things happen, that's life. Everything can be fixed. IMHO

Sent from SUNRAY MINOR
