  1. Which one do you mean? This one? http://www.ttwristwatch.com/images/IWC002SW02.JPG I like this one, and as you say, it has more presence and looks less "dated" in design
  2. Hello, This is now starting to get out of hand. I've spent the last week spending several hours a day researching and investigating and dithering over my next rep. I thought I'd decided on the Breitling Chono Evolution white face/stick markers/leather strap and almost ordered it. But I've decided it's too big and brash for me so I now have a shortlist of three fairly similar watches. If I don't decide soon, her indoors is going to lose it big time.(Excuse the pun!) Here we go, which do I go for? (All have the Asian 7750 valjoux 28800 bph movement, similar price and from Josh) IWC Spitfire Tag Carrera Montblanc Timewalker
  3. LOL...that's just what I was thinking and was about to post until you did it for me. Having said that, this guy is probably a 55 year old English professor living in Oxford and smoking a pipe.
  4. Hi there, I can't see any difference from the photos so I can't see why one is more expensive than the other. Having said that, If you had them both in your hand, things might be very different. There is no possible right answer to your question. Sorry
  5. The movement is the lemania manual. By flaws, if you mean how does it differ from the genuine article, well here goes: $36,300 vs $228 (plus shipping) Case diameter is 39.5 on the rep & 39 on the gen Case thickness is 10 on the rep & 10.8 on the gen The tops of the subdials should be just about level with the bottom of the 9 & 3 on the face instead of half way down the face. As posted above this is because the movement is unique to A Lange & Sohn and is impossible to copy with a standard rep movement The hands should be a lighter shade of blue I'm sure there are others flaws but these are the main ones. The original is here: It's a lovely watch despite the inaccuracies and no one who sees it know what the original looks like as It's a rare watch
  6. Hi Peeps, Having made the plunge and received my first rep from josh last week : I'm now going for the next; something more informal. I thought I'd decided on the Breitling Chronomat Evo white face/leather strap but now I'm leaning towards this 40mm PAM also from Josh: It has the Asia 7750 Valjoux movement and it's on at $258 plus shipping. Has anyone bought this, have any comments or any photos, particularly a wrist shot. Your help is much appreciated. Alan
  7. Hi Chris, Not a Rolex fan; too bling and obvious for me but If you've got to have one, I'd say keep it simple and save $200 by getting this from Josh: Nice looking watch and a very close rep. Good luck Alan
  8. Hi peeps, Here's my 1st pictures of my 1st rep watch. I've got a lot to learn but I just had to put some up! Thanks for looking Alan
  9. Thanks guys, I think I'm going for the white face with stick markers. That watch does look nice in black tho....
  10. LOL......that's exactly what I was thinking as I scrolled down to your post
  11. I absolutely agree. 99.9% of people in the world who have a "faith" share it with their parents. Doesn't that make you think?
  12. In the words of that great American poet, Smokey Robinson: "I second that emotion"
  13. Thanks for the input peeps. I'm still not sure what to go for. Where can I find Angus' website?
  14. Hello, I'm not really a Rolex fan but I like this very much http://www.cclv.net/kingwatch-large/ROLEX/ROLEX-175.jpg http://www.cclv.net/kingwatch-large/ROLEX/ROLEX-175-3.jpg What do you guys think and have any of you bought one and if so, are you happy? Thanks Alan
  15. Thanks b16a2, that's usefull. How accurate have you found the swiss movement to be?
  16. Thanks deltahoe...I'd looked at your photos earlier today. That really is the most beautiful watch and it looks an incredibly high quality rep. Is it asian or swiss movement and how have you found the accuracy to be? Thanks Alan
  17. Hi Peeps, Right, next rep is going to be a chronomat evolution V2 from Josh and I've decided to go for strap rather than bracelet and I don't want subdials in a different colour to the face. But this still leaves these options and i can't decide. Can you pitch in with your opinions please, especially if you've bought one. Face : white, blue or black? Movement : Asian 7750 28,800 bph or Swiss for the extra $400 Markers : Numerals or stick markers Thanks Alan
