  1. I'm also in the EU and was after the DD#8, likewise if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I have a UPS account so could probably get it collected from any kind fellow so it wouldn't even require going to the post office. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Most td's can get most watches. If you want a specific watch, Panerai for example, there are plenty of reviews and opinions to read in the Panerai section, for example ALE's superb thread detailing every model from every factory. Even if it's something more obscure like a Sinn or Corum, use the search facility. Best advice is do your research and make your own decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have one on the way from Sead. I don't know if he is a TD here but he is on the other forums. As far as I know the only u1 sinn replicas are made by BP Factory, you can find plenty of info on them on here and elsewhere. My only fear is the BP fac movements which have never set the world alight - lots of complaints that their Swiss movements are refurbished and very unlikely to be 100% Swiss. Mines going straight for service just in case. BP released the v2 of the u1 and v3 of the U2 and made some minor improvements - don't expect superlume but as previously stated the AR is actually better than the gen. 4. Love it - one of my favourite IWC's. I'd be surprised if we see a rep though unfortunately, certainly any time soon
  5. How are your watches holding up? My TD has recommended against them due to the notoriously iffy QC and reconditioned movements, but I love the look of the U1. Interested to hear any feedback.
  6. Scratch that - I'm getting mixed up with the 2813 Hmm looks like the search for eta IWC hands is on!
  7. Thanks for that krpster, I do have the opportunity to put a 2836 or a 2834 in so maybe I'll do that. The main drawback of selling over replacing the movement is surprisingly cost - it looks like it will still be cheaper even with buying replacement hands than the high beat version of the watch. Factor in the fact that aside from the movement Sora sourced me a very good watch with decent markers which is hit and miss with this model and I'm pretty sure I will either do it or hedge my bets with a DG4813.
  8. Picked up the above from Sora at Shinewatch but hate the jittery Miyota 8215 and fancied putting a high beat in there anyway....plan to chuck in a 2824-2 unless anyone has any better suggestions relating to hand size? Otherwise I'm gonna need hands that fit an ETA movement before resorting to my last resort of modding the existing ones. Anyone got any kicking around that they fancy parting company with? Or can point me in the right direction of a source?
