  1. Congrats mate ! I have seen it for sale, nice build !
  2. The bezel looks god and correct ! Too bad that it doesnt fit a gen insert without shavin it. Does it feel good quality. ? I mean by that it won't pop out any time ?
  3. Lol not sure if you are serious, because a gen insert can go until 900€ for some of original mk3 fat font [emoji21]
  4. Thanks for your answers Dbane and Will ! I think I will go for a complete gen assembly though because I don't want to modify any gen parts.
  5. Ah ok thanks for the info, i have eead in TRF. That that are different once but never verified the veracity of it. So the startime bezel assembly will for directly without any mod my phong case with gen t19 on ? And will accept a gen insert without modding it ? If it is it will be a nice alternative to a complete gen bezel assembly
  6. Unfortunately the gen t39 and gen t19 has different outer diameter, but I am looking forward to see pictures of it
  7. My friend would you mind taking a profile picture of your 5514, I want to see how is the the starting bezel ? What can you tell us about the quality of the bezel and of the retaining ring ? I have a genuine tropic 19 Crystal and I am not sure if it will fit properly, this is why I am saving funds for a complete gen bezel assembly. Thanks mate for your help
  8. Actually If you want a know, I don't have so much money lol I am just a poor little med school student that try to save some pennies for a project like that .. I used to have a lot of cheap "vintage" ROLEX replicas from TD's and I must admit that I can not stand them now, some might be cool to use as a base but if you want a real vintage look and feel, you have no choice than going Franken with some high quality aftermarket parts and gen parts.. That's my point.. Building a watch is a great experience because you learn a lot while the process because of all the research you do to source parts .. You take your time and once it is finished believe me that you will be more happy with it than buying a complete watch. Good luck with your build and keep us updated !
  9. + 1 ! Unfortunately the pre COMEX dials are quiet rare on sale.. But if I find one I will definetely go for it. Actually I am looking atm at an affordable at a gem Matt meter first dial (my favorite) with non serif hour markers. It is true that a phong cases deserve all gen parts !
  10. Nothing personnal.. Relax dude, sorry if I sound rude, i didn't mean to.. The gen is more like 80k€ btw.. And phong is 1000USD only for mid case and caseback If you want to use it as a base then I will suggest you to reshape the case, and escpially to shave the CG's.. And to go for a whoopy dial.. And for 100£ you also have the cartel cases a 5513 cartel case will be more accurate in term of thickness because the cartel 5514 is actually a 1665 case with 5514 engravings so it is too junky.
  11. If you want a 5514 it is not a good base .. Actually it is not a good base for anything .. I suggest you to try to find an HH case in m2m sales or go for a phong 5514 case those are the best options .. Especially the phong 5514 case which is above the other
  12. I also have this dial it is true that it is the best serif rep dial ! I plan to use it with another comex built. do you have pics bro ?
  13. Does this one has an HEV ? Is the dial gen or rep because I can not say with the picture
  14. The other one is an earlier comex with serif dial based on HH case ??
  15. This is another existing font for the mid numbers with the same phong configuration: Do you have the inside of your caseback engraved with the last 3 digits of your serial number ? Between the 5513 stamping and the SS stamping ? It has to be made with a very thin font: I will post a picture of mine if you wish
  16. The first batch came with little numbers, then the second batch has been engraved with mid numbers and basically the latest one have big numbers but with another caseback configuration for the most of them like this one: There is no logical issue number thought, all have been determined by the comex company
  17. Here is the big numbers with our caseback configuration: This is the mid numbers:
  18. Could you please tell me what parts are you using with with your phong case ? I choose the little markers for my comex issue number on the caseback: This one is from Freddy, he used a phong case back as us, I have the exact same font for the little numbers.
  19. Thanks for the tip Whoopy, do you think it is possible to engrave a sterile cartel bracelet 93150 on the final link ? If he can do that that would be great !
  20. It is definitely a hard task to drill a working HEV without proper tools !! Here is a picture of an inside HEV from a gen 5514 comex: Here is a picture of my phong 5514 HEV You see the discontinuity inside the case ? This is why the HEV works, I doubt you will be able to shave a 5513 case inside and obtain the same result without the proper tools and skills..
  21. You did an awesome work ! DW PN dial is excellent and the gen coronet add more caracter to it ! My both DW 6239 PN says hello to yours
  22. Absolutely beautiful and is the DW dial is a stock one of the coroner has been replaced by a gen one ?
  23. Gen 5514 comex caseback: Another gen 5514 comex caseback (on one of my books) Phong 5514 comex caseback :
