Is there supposed to be a gasket or anything betwen the crystal and case? Is the crystal supposed to be glued in? I am trying to waterproof my mbk. My gen tube and crown arrive next week.

Anyone know why the generic 24-7030 tubes come with 3 gaskets instead of 4? What I mean is, some tubes are being sold with 1 internal gasket rather than 2... any idea why?

Can these be waterproofed or are they so as standard?

Anybody ever waterproofed a 1665 or 1680? If so, what needs to be done to waterproof? Does thecrystal need a gasket?

Slartibartfast, the same thing happened to me in search of the same model Aerospace. I bought mine off DHgate.com. What arrived was a complete POS. The dial is a mix of the Aerospace pic you posted and the B-1. If I turn the watch upside-down the bezel falls off. If I twist my wrist the minute hand fly's back 10 minutes and when the watch is laying flat and still the minute hand jerks as the seconds hand moves along. Complete and utter [censored]. I am in a dispute with the seller. I will never buy off DHGate again ever. But I am still after an Aerospace. I may buy a used gen as they are not that expensive and believe the design is one which will stand the test of time.

The way I see it is that if water was to enter the case it would most likely be through the caseback or the thread between the crown tube and case. Thats why I am considering replacing the crown tube by smothering the thread with some type of glue or putty during replacement. I dont think water would enter between the crown and tube if decent gaskets and silicon lub are used. what do you think?

My 2 cents worth. I can only speak for myself. I am awaiting delivery of an SSD. In my case I genuinely believed the movement would be a genuine ETA. I really won't know until I receive it and look inside. If it isn't an ETA I will feel like I have been conned and very stupid as well as ultra upset. Additionally I will feel like a complete fool having chosen my dealer and then the rep. Further, to a certain extent and without a shadow of a doubt we tend to support and promote our dealers openly or subtely, we perhaps do this in the hope they will treat us more favourably than the average Joe, but we forget that the majority of their sales are not from the forums. I could be wrong but I believe there was a comparison between a gen movement and an asian copy on here sometime last year -I can't recall if it was an ETA or 7750 though. If my SSD does not have a gen ETA I will look toward installing one but do not know if the date-wheel will line up ok. Could I just add that a quality rep case with an asian copy of an ETA is a bit like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. Pink P, just another Joe.

Any idea where i can find the correct 'tap' or could you tell me which 'tap' to use to upgrade to a generic tube on an ssd?

Hello everyone. I recently bought a Super Sea Dweller and would like to mod it. Ideally I would like to replace the crown tube with a generic or genuine rolex tube. Could anybody advise me which tube the SSD case will take and whether a genuine rolex crown will fit on the ETA stem?
