    This is my first AP purchase in a very long time.   I jumped at it on Ryan's site as he offered it for well below what the other TD's are selling it for.   I already reviewed the transaction in the TD section.

     

    I was nervous when ordering, as none of the TD's seem able to post up good pictures of this piece.   Every TD site photo makes the piece out to be much lighter in color (dial and strap) than in real life.    After looking at high quality photos of the GEN, I half expected to be disappointed with the REP.    

     

    Well, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an absolute stunner of a rep.   This thing is absolutely gorgeous.    The strap and dial coloring are much more than I had hoped for.   Fit and finish are as nice as any rep I have held in my hand.   

     

    It's been on my wrist for all of an hour, so I can't comment on the movement, but it started up with a couple of swirls right out of the box.   Here's on photo and I'll try to post a bunch more later.   

     

    Now.......  We'll see if I can get over the uneasy feeling of wearing a rep of a $45,000 watch!

    It's quickly becoming clear that this is not the hobby for you.    Everything is unacceptable.   Your expectations of perfection on a $300 rep of a $4000 watch is unrealistic.   Buy the gen and be happy.

     

    Breitlings seem to be the worst reps. Too much going on to replicate. ...maybe a three hand Super Ocean 42. But they are cheap enough to buy new. When REP price start reaching into the $400s I think it's money wasted. It is not like they have guarentees or are water resistant out of the box. I think I can get a great EcoDrive or Seiko for that kind of bread. I paid $160 for a rep Date Sub and liked it enough to buy the real thing without the date. I would not have paid more than $200 for that watch..

     

    I am seeing $700 reps....That is just nuts considering the QC is just not there to my standards.

    $208 for a decent rep today is damned cheap! I have an AP schumi on the way that I laid out $700 for!

    Toro is one of the best. He has a much more select inventory than some of the other TD's, which allows him to focus on the better quality reps. True, he tends to be a man of few words. Communication is not he strength, but I have bought some 10 watches from him and every deal was smooth as silk.

    Buy from him without hesitation.......
