  1. I think the Chinese rep factories have more integrity and honesty that this lot. At least they don't try to hide the fact they are copying high end watches. Been into some really top boutiques of late only to be underwhelmed by all of the 'designer' watches with exorbitant price tags. Maybe I'm just being grumpy
  2. Wow! Nope you look good to go. Don't forget some clothes and stuff
  3. To be fair NOBODY was born knowing about everything. It's all learning. What I love about this forum in particular is it's friendliness. What good would have come of hanging the OP out to dry except making the flamer look like a douche and losing a new member. Most ALL other forums come with an army of self appointed forum police and over zealous moderators who think they are big-shots because they get a bit of perceived 'power' in anonymous internet land. They stomp around deleting threads and picking on newbies and generally treating members like children. As a result they tend to behave like children in return and the problem perpetuates. Here it's adults treating adults like erm adults. Fair play guys ps not all mods behave like this but the ones that do sure stand out.
  4. Kermit to celebrate my new avatar
  5. BK might have one? His upgraded bracelets are excellent. I'm not sure how they are upgraded though lol
  6. Here you go buddy. TC has a blog and answers emails. BK answers pm. Have a read through TC's blog and FAQ it's good http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/280-tc-submariner/ http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/196-bks-watch-garage/
  7. Automatic watches don't have batteries so they rely on being worn or wound. Try giving it a full wind and check out the power reserve it may just be a short power reserve. When you pick it up it kick starts the movement so that's why it starts again.
  8. I'd go with your gut instinct mate. If you aint comfortable with the transaction don't do it.
  9. The watches are from Toro. They are magnificent. Not resized the LMPO yet so no wriistiy The black on the bezel is my iPad reflection. Shiny huh?
  10. Yes I agree with your last comment. A mate of mine took his gen Tag (wedding gift) into a small watch smith for a battery and the guy managed to put a 10mm gouge in the case back. He wasn't a guy you want to upset too! Lol I've got some nice tools including a set of watch smith drivers but I'm lacking pushers and such. I've had quite a few hobbies over the years that need fine work and steady hands so I won't go in like a bulk in a china shop. We will see when it gets here. If it's utter junk I'll maybe stop a few members making the same mistake :-)
  11. Thanks yeah I don't want to fork out a fortune on tools just enough to get by really. I've got a big jiffy envelope full of bags of links and odds and ends already. Bought some spring bar removers that were huge and no good for any watch. If it conquers the LMPO bracelet then money well spent
  12. Cheers for the tip mate. I'll see what I use and replace as and when it fails I recon. I doubt I'll use much from the kit but as long as I don't have to fork out daft money on easy jobs.
  13. Dammit the LMPO bracelet is my first project haha I think they were sized for giants :-/
  14. I guessed the tools wouldn't be great for the money. I had a pin pusher from china snap on me after one use the other day so hopefully better than that lol.

    My new 4 Some!

Awesome. I need a date just and gmt Pepsi in my life!
  16. I only paid £9.49 for it and I'm confident some tools will be junk but a good start? I only want to resize bracelets and small jobs maybe be brave enough to do some oiling eventually
  17. Worse luck mate, what you having done?
  18. Get in there CD claw hammer and jigsaw! Then reverse over it a few times before setting on fire! People will think you are a badass when you wear it lol :0) It can all be retrieved with a dremel and cape cod but that case was far to shiny and perfect. These watches are all at least a few years old now and some more than ten and wearing a sub as it was intended as a rough and ready watch is super cool ;-)
