I sent him an E-mail asking whether if I placed a winning bid on this watch I could reserve payment until I had it authenticatd by an authorized Panerai dealer.
-
What does the engraved "Presents for Reader" mean? I assume that this is an expensive rep, Yes?
-
Buy the rubber strap and get the watch for free????
Thats like take my spare tire and I'll throw in the car for ya too.

But there is no scam here. He is selling the strap. Nobody would think that the watch is genuine.

But now this is going Off Topic... back to Blade and RWG1!
But Blade was severely criticized for evading service in the armed forces of Serbia, which is somewhat like condemning a German in 1939 for refusing to serve in the SS. The former president of Serbia has spent the last two years on trial in the Hague for crimes against humanity.
-
I am not a fan of military service and the indoctrination it can entail, an example of say Israel, where the indoctrination will perpetuate the conflict, or the gung ho attitude instilled into far too many Americans, or some of the despicable methods employed to recruit people from dead end parts of the US to send them off as cannon fodder.
Yes, if the Israelies would only stop defending themselves and if the U.S.A. would only disband its armed forces, many problems in the world would be ended.
Words of political wisdom from the replica watch world. Who would guess at such sophistication?
-
I'm not really interested in the personal controversies raging here or in the traffic situation in Leeds, but two questions developed on this thread have really piqued my curiosity. In what country did Blade evade conscription into the army? What did TTK do before he became a replica watch dealer?
-
Since RWG! is already offline again, perhaps this thread should be retitled "The Burial of the Dead" after the section with that title in T. S. Eliot's "The Waste Land."
-
Some of you guys are just plain nasty.
-
Well, Johnnyboy has announced his defection from this site and has returned to RWG1. Anyone else?
-
The old RWG is fully up and running. I kid you not. Blade is back in business!
-
@Warburg
Is that a negative RWG cash amount I see?
Going into hock eh?
We'll have to rectify that!

Hey! That's because I won the last raffle–an oversized Cartier Santos 100! Who says that old folks don't have any fun?
-
I'm 53.... Looks like I have the record on old age.........
Well, not quite. I'm 75. I may very well hold the record here!
-
Belive you me, this is a one of a kind piece. I got two of them from Narikaa a while back and the thing is HUGE! Not sure about the internals as I haven't opened any of them up, but the one I regurarely ware keeps very ggod time The best description I would be able to make would be a super-sized Santos
Thanks. This really sounds like something unusual. I'm looking forward to getting it!
-
I won last week's raffle prize which is described as a "huge Cartier Santos on a rubber strap." Can anyone give me the particulars of this watch? How does it differ from the "normal" Santos? What kind of works does it have?
-
Has anyone here actually asked Joe to return his watch, and did Joe return it?

He posted his new FM a few days ago. Did you PM him? He replied all my PMs within 2 days.
I just received an E-mail from him also. My watch is detained in customs. This is the second one of these Chronoswiss Tourbillons that he's sent me that's been detained. It's getting to be very difficult for him to ship from Taiwan, not to mention expensive. I'm certainly hoping the next one gets through.
-
He's probably gone into a deep hibernation/depression due to lack of strippers and beer because of his last purchase
I'm sure I'd find this much funnier if I hadn't sent him $600!

EL is OK.
Bill
Are you sure? I've been waiting almost three weeks for a watch from him, and he isn't answering my E-mails. This is most unusual for EL from whom I've bought many watches.

Try
then go to My controls-> Edit avatar settings.
There are a number of Avatar sites around.
Just Google them.
Or you can take a favourite photo and set it to the right size.

Thanks very much. For some reason I couldn't upload one of my own jpegs, but I chose one arbitrarily from an avatr site and will try to find something more significant later.

I'm waiting on email from him.
You didnt ask him when you ordered? I want one!!!
No point in my asking questions like that; I don't know one movement from another. You can find the same watch on Aspire Eshop for $599 with a picture of the back which may tell you something about the movement.
-
I don't know; why don't you ask Eddie? I ordered one of these from him a week ago and it's now stuck in Taiwan customs. It seems that Taiwan is the only country in the world that has customs checks on outgoing packages.

For a moment there you sounded like a new dlgates but lets face it this request comes from someone who has got 26 posts and no avatar tell us all about yourself first
BTW I do like you a lot warburg so dont get offended I once a long time ago had the great fortune to attend Port Richmond HS for half a year (do you know where it is located?)
Sure, Port Richmond High School is located on St. Joseph's Avenue in Staten Island, New York.
I had hundreds of posts on RWG I. My credit for them was wiped out and I had to begin as a newbie here. I don't like the avatars available on the site, and I don't know how everyone gets these catchy avatars and how they upload them.

I've used the Location button on my Profile so that readers of my posts can see where I'm posting from. I think this is important, especially for members from non-English speaking countries. I thought that a good number of members on this board were less literate than they should be until I realized that most of these people were not native English speakers, and then I came to admire how well they were able to express myself and regret that I was not as competent in French or Spanish.
