Just heard from Josh about possibly getting the datewheel alone for modding other Breits. His answer was no, sorry, not available.
-
Now, if we can also source the datewheel from Josh, let the modding begin! No Breitling is safe!

Pm'ed you, Lello. Enjoy your vacation, we all deserve at least that much. Add me to the list for: Breitling x 2 Thanks!

*UPDATE* Stan (WBK) sent me some watches. Couple old quartz Chronomats and a CTI. Here's a teazer pic. Dial fits the case perfectly. Seems to be enough room for a 7750 in there also, but I'll leave that to rex. Bezel will have to be changed for either a gen or one of the other bezels above, but it's a start, right?

I only bid because the shipping charges were clearly spelled out in the original auction. $8.50 for US Postal Sevice Priority shipping, with insurance included in that $8.50, to 12901. (Been doin' the 'Bay for a while now). And looking at the advertised pictures, (which I saved), it is genuine. We'll see how he responds.

I'm keeping an open mind here, but tell me what you think. Here's what I won: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=380033413418 Seller sent me an invoice: What's my next step? I sent him a polite email calling attention to the discrepancy.

I just won a Breitling deployant from Chronoswissprince. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=380033413418 Auction states US Postal Service Priority Mail with insurance to 12901 at $8.50, but his invoice states $48.80 for US Postal Service Priority Mail, and insurance is another $5.70! I sent him an email asking what's up with it, we'll see how he responds.

Great solution!

I always update my computer clock just before setting my watch by it. And yes, I've noticed a difference of up to 15 seconds delay with Verizon.
-
You go right ahead a browse all those non-rep-forum sites you want. Look at the pics, read the stats, but don't you DARE try ordering. Save the pictures and links, and sent them to your dealer here, see if they can get the same watch. Easy-peasy Lemon-squeezy!

gen breitling parts avail... let me know soon.

.....and me if you can get a datewheel, please. -
Agreed about the Brad Pitt thing. No posters either, but he seems to have that certain old-fashioned movie star quality, like Gable, Brando, Heston, etc.... If you like Brad Pitt movies, see Snatch. He's funny as hell in it. He plays a pikey, which I guess is some type of derigatory term for folks in the UK who live in campers, and never really settle anywhere. He's got this accent in it that everybody has to keep translating for him, 'cause nobody understands him. Whole family liked the movie, (now that the kids are older, of course).

Never show your watch to a bear, they are closet WIS's.

Navi crystals are funny, or rather, the little plastic ring that holds the bezel ring in, is. Look at that small white plastic ring under a powerful loop, you'll see how it's supposed to go. If it's upside down, the crystal won't press.

Giorgio, that might be just what I need. If it's still apart, can you take some measurements for me, please? Would I be able to cram a 7750 into it? Who did you buy from, and were they good about communication? Thanks.

All great info, guys. I appreciate it. You suppose there's any chance of finding one now? Either in a watchbox somewhere, or over there in China? I've written to most of the heavy-hitters. Now I'll write 'em all back, tell them it was a MBW. I can find plenty of Chronomat reps of the right size case, but they're all quartz. What are my chances of squeezing a 7750 into a quartz case? Thanks!
-
Phoband, thanks for the reply! I have written Ruby, I'll send something to the others shortly. I'm pretty sure any case like this will work, as long as it's the smaller Chronomat case, not the newer Evo case. Have you ever seen any 7750 reps of any of the Breitlings with this smaller case? I think the dial diameter is 30mm, the case is around 40mm-41mm. Wouldn't matter what dial was on it, I have my own, but it's just finding the case. There are/were a LOT of Brietlings with this size case.
-
Well, found the rep I need to make this project work. It's called a Chronomat GT. They haven't been around for a while, but it's got a 7750, and looks pretty close. Anybody got one, or know where to get one?
-
Got this sweet gen dial from Skydata a while ago. (Thanks again, Skydata!) Now I'd like to build a replica around it, so it looks like this: I can find plenty of Evo's on the dealers sites, but no older Chronomat reps. Is there a non-branded watch case like this somewhere? Or maybe a similar homage watch I could canibalize? Any suggestions?

I take this thing across the top of NY state nightly. Critters beware!

We've always had a winner with V, haven't we?

I'm not connected to them in any way, except as a recent, one-time, happy customer. Here's a link to their site for a drastically reduced honey-brown deployant. Only $26.95 right now. http://www.thewatchprince.com/s.nl/it.A/id.618/.f Trying to give back. Donny

I've been researching Navitimer deployants recently. I've emailed all the dealers to find a rep calf, (meaning leather, not croc grained), Breitling marked deployant for the new deployant buckle. All that seems to be available are the older ones with the holes. Angus at Puretime just emailed me saying, "I saw the strap you need on the watch maker's desk! Which means we will have the strap soon." Here's hoping! Donny
