I've got a Bell & Ross BR01-94 rep. Orange markers (no lume), quartz, but at least it's PVD. Case and rubber strap is very well made. But what is this Blue film on my crystal? I assume it's supposed to mimic AR (doesn't prevent any reflections). Anyone else see it on any other reps? If so, how the heck do I get it out? Many thanks in advance.
-
it looks good to me, but i see no engravings or "stamps" of serials. additionally, it looks like there is no AR?

"see the picture! not fake!" yes, it's not a fake picture, but the watch sure is. the rotoa is a definite tell.

Breguet Type XX Ref 3800. Aeronale Flyback Chronograph
anton replied to dluddy's topic in Other Brands Area
The only movement I see possible in this is the 2894. Maybe they could use that modified A7750 seconds @ 3 movement, but the subdial spacing would be off. -
TomRiddle, Fellow Brooklynite I see? I'm from Bay Ridge. Did you hear about the tornado? Since I wasn't in town, I wanted to know about the damage.

Ever since I found this forum I haven't purchased a single watch on ebay when I could be easily scammed. Thanks to the eagle-eyes of our watch cynics, I've learned from the best how to spot the crap de la crap. These scammers; could they be dumber than a door[censored] or what? If you're selling what looks to be valuable, wouldn't YOU at least attempt to do the research if you thought it was valuable? I've seen these reasons when I find auctions like these: -My father passed it onto me as part of his estate; I know nothing about watches but I brought it to a jeweler who confirms that it is an original... [word left out: replica] -Sorry, no box or papers; I lost it in my last move (most watches come in an easily identifiable box, especially Panerai) -I don't know the value of it, yet I bought it used (or second hand) [last one was a sarcastic remark].

Looks to be PVD'ed or just black!

Ahh, the PO. Have always been my next purchase, but for me being paranoid that someone, somewhere, out there is going to call me out, I am waiting for a good deal to come up on our GEN alter ego forum. The HBB's never disappoint me, although now I've got the chrono reset problem. I've havent taken this one out of the watch box, so it's this for the gruntwork: And this dainty for dinner (the wife loves it) [gen] I know the dates are off; these are my archive photos!

link didn't work, so go to ebay.com and find item no. 330154924189 Well, I know the box, warranty card, and guarantee information is fake, but don't know much about the daylight (252)to deem it fake. It could just be me, but looks like the "branding" font is off.

I'd blame it on the media for generalizing NYC being dangerous as a WHOLE. Being a "smalltown farmboy from PA" (another generalization), I believed the same way. Three years later, I understood that it always depends on where you go and whether or not you are fitting the crowd that is the makeup of the general area. I've been very fortunate not to have been the victim as of yet. Some people are just foolish and flashy that they are ASKING for trouble. With that being said, I think there are three prerequisites to wearing a watch in most of NYC: 1) don't wear something where the entire watch is polished SS / YG 2) don't wear something with diamonds or a MOP dial 3) no watches 45mm and above.

moderately simplistic...and very plebian! but then again, i'm in NYC and this is my ONLY means of transportation!

Been waiting FOREVER for an anonimo rep... but my question is now... Will there be a TB Buti rep or a Dino Zei rep?
-
Genuine. Tells are date font, dial printing [eg: branding], rotor center and outer base engraving.

http://anonym.to/http://cgi.ebay.com/MONTB...1QQcmdZViewItem Perusing through ebay to find reference Timewalker pictures. Found this one. Maybe it doesn't disclose whether or not it's a rep, but the caseback shows the "PJ121221" which is shown on all the reps.
-
i cant believe it sold. it has the markings of what should be the angelus movement inside. and those sold for over $100K us at a recent auction. additionally, the typeface on the dial is NOT "pre-vendome". The "R" is "PANERAI" is off.

hey, i'm getting it now! wanna see my big dates?
-
hey i laughed! but i thought at first it was a broken glazed doughnut!!!

The BCE's "bezel action" is very simple. I've seen some of the reps in person and it's just not quite smooth between clicks. But I bet it's easily "fixable" with some superglue. It could be that there are deeper ridges on the bezel of the rep.
-
what is the symbolism in that? Anyway, @CY0811: the crystal doesn't turn on the gen. It's a gear system similar the B-1 where the turn of the outer bezel turns the inner bezel. @all: i saw one guy in canal st. selling one and ironically, he was next to a legitimate grey market (oxymoron) jeweler who has the gen in his display window. the rep looks good, save for below: REALLY LIGHT AR. You see a blue/purple tint, but it doesn't too much in the way of making the dial stand out. Dial printing could be a bit sharper and the date placement is slightly off on the rep. Looks a little sunken, if you ask me. The color is blood red, which is wrong. It should be a black on some models (at least the black and white ones) and brown/maroon on the brown-dialled one. But, it does come a LONG way from the rep right next to it, the Bentley open heartbeat green distorted glass, made of tin etc...

Colin, NICE, REAL NICE!!! I've got the same one... The big wings to me gave it away as a gen... And judging from your shots, you've got the newer 2007 model (A13370/B6) With the Pro II bracelet. I love wearing this thing outdoors...it just has this air of crispness that none of my "perfect" clones (no pun intended) could achieve. And BTW, don't you think that they could do a better job on the lume? Mine goes away after twenty-thirty minutes!
-
It looks like it was pulled from a pocketwatch and put into a wristwatch case.

Deltatahoe, you and I are on the same boat! (no pun intended) Tried this on @ Wempe today. If no one has it in the Diamond District, I'm buying this by the end of the week. It looks very clean and simple and fools everyone who doesn't think that it's a chrono. A simple push at 12:00 starts/stops, and 6:00 resets. I "fell in love" when I saw it. My wife was jealous. She said I didn't even give her that look when I saw her!

Well, after playing with this and borrowing one gen (with a hefty deposit BTW) from my regular jeweler, the flaws become much more prominent. Bear in mind that this is probably only noticed by members here and hard-core Breitling fans (the standard ones, to my surprise, know nothing in terms of the history/manufacturing). Here goes, and I hope it doesn't stop you all from purchasing one as it is beautiful! 1: Recessed datewheel. On some models the numerals are black and on others it is a darker shade of red (maroon). 2: Crystal is affixed to bezel rather than the case and turn of the outer bezel rotates the inner bezel, not the bezel AND crystal. 3: AR. It's there, but a very light and cheap flavor. You can still see reflections at most angles. Crystal is supposed to "disappear". 4: It could be the dial paint or an attribute of the AR, but in the gen the dial appears to be black in some angles, a charcoal grey/light black in others. 5: Reversed subdials. Hand positioning; on the other hand, is correct. 6: Hands do not have a high-poilished finish like on the gen. 7: Chrono runs for thirty minutes and twelve hours, not fifteen and six like on the gen. Other than that, you sure get ALOT for only $300. The big tell between the gen and rep is just the overall finish.
-
I remember someone mentioning that a big flaw with the rep is the recessed datewheel... But I tried on a gen at Wempe today and it ALSO has a recessed datewheel. (BTW, I went to inquire about the Bracelet as an accessory because the rubber is a tad uncomfortable...but it costs more than the watch [rep i mean]!)

Cartier Roadster Chronograph with Asian 7750 28,800

If they've produced the Bentley 6.75 rep, then this would be feasible... I'd assume this will be shown in the coming months...
