Just got home from a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Great to meet you guys and have a look at and talk watches all evening. Looking at that picture above, it's amazing that there were only five of us!

Hmm, I may well not have the Panerai on my wrist. Something turned up in the post today which I was expecting to have to have work done on but it's actually growing on me as it is. It'll be interesting to see what people think.

I'm hoping to make it to this, if I do, expect me in black combats, and a dark t-shirt of some kind. I'm not a small guy, and I'll have a 005 on either Tan Baseball Glove or Shell Cordovan Oxblood.

Taking a strap off my Big Pilot and the spring bar tool slipped and gouged a big chunk out of the pad of my left thumb

You're missing the point. I have to have a Union Flag over there <--- because there's no English flag. Scotland and Wales are listed but not England.
BTW, it's only a Union Jack if it's flown from the bow of a ship

I was about to get all hoity toity and argue the toss but I bit my lip and went away to do some research.

We could say exactly the same about the crowns. But people are desperate to get replacement crowns for their Panerai reps.
People have different priorities, each to their own.
