  1. I have a gen, and I'm comparing the the picture of V5 here with my gen, and I have to admit, there's not a single flaw, except for one. The only flaw on it is on the deployany clasp's safety buckle, the part with the Rolex crown logo on it. This rep's Rolex crown doesn't look as refined compared to my gen. The rest looks exactly the same. As for the color, I can't tell, because gen Rolex uses Steelinox, and I've seen some other reps, they seemed a little yellower, but I can't really tell from image. As for the lume, I can't really tell neither, unless it's side by side. I'm tempted to purchase this rep, but I already have a rep, so it defeats the purpose of it. But I'll wait till GMT-Master 2 gets as close a rep as this is. EDIT: After reading another post by Legend, I've paid extra attention to the dial's LOGO and OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE wordings. There are flaws (I don't think it's major, but worth taking note of), the P on PERPETUAL isn't aligned to the O of ROLEX. The ROLEX's font is a bit off. R's bottom right serif on gen is extended a little to the right, whereas the rep v5 only extends to the left. The L on ROLEX's L's serif extends too high, almost to the extent that it's almost as high as the E's middle line. On the gen, it's shorter. Even ROLEX's X's serif is wrong, the gen extends to the right, and just a little to the left (lower right part). Somehow, they've got Rolex's wording fonts wrong. Is it major, you guys decide.
  2. The only thing that's bothering me is the non-hacking movement. I'm an ass for accurate seconds, I always match my seconds to my computer's internet sync'ed time just so that I have the most accurate time ever. This non-hacking movement will be a bit of a pain, but I've read that these Miyotas are super reliable. If the power-reserve low, I could do a back-hacking. I'm seriously considering this one ... but of course I'd prefer to have a non-open-back-case on reps, that's why I love my AP ROO Diver V7 so much. Hehehe ... not afraid to hand it over when someone asks for it ...
  3. Thanks DJT1, that helps a lot. Let's say price is irrelevant, is the Noob version better ? I've read that this Miyota movement has been decorated to be as close to A8500 as possible, I did check Pure-Time's video, it looks impressive.
  4. I tried order a v6.5 HBB, but Ryan said it's out of stock, and has no idea how long it'd take to restock. And since then, I've been trying to search for a good PO. I'm looking at this one : http://intime.co/product.php?id_product=1413 No where in the link states which factory/version the watch is made. Without that info, I can't even find reviews. I've read about Noob, V6F, BP, etc. Is this the best version out there ? Not that I don't want to do a search, but there are so many PO related post, and it's almost impossible for me to identify which factory it's from. Only info I know is it's Miyota movement, and it's no-hacking. I wonder how the seconds are accurately adjusted ? But I know Miyota makes great movements too, but this is a low-beat. Shouldn't be much of a problem if its face itself is as close to gen as possible, wouldn't be taking off the watch from my wrist much. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Who would pay that much for a quartz watch ?
  6. Congratulations to both CC and Frog ...
  7. As promised, here's the pictures ... I'm very happy with it. But I've sold it to my best friend, because he was so surprised at the quality of the watch. I'm going to buy another one. But I'm looking at a Hublot Big Bang right now. Need to do my research on it. Hehehe ...
  8. Looks pretty good to me, if you don't like it, you can always send it my way.
  9. Received watch today, and man, I'm SHOCKED ... SURPRISED ... at how well a rep could be ... it looks almost just like a gen ... I've found only 3 flaws ... which is very minute, and I can't complain ... 1. The lumes on the numbers aren't spread nicely. There is a bit of smearing, very minimal. But it is not noticable unless looked at closely, within 1 palm's distance. Especially on the 50's '5'. But like I said, it's so minor that I won't be able to notice unless looked really close. 2. The rubber strap on the top is loose, whereas the strap on the bottom is snug/tight. Upon inspection, I've found out that the screws are loose. After I tighten it, it is still loose. There is a gap between the strap and the watch's body. So what I did was unscrew both the top and bottom straps, and took them out, only to realise that the bottom part's metal part from the strap is very tight, I needed to apply pressure to adhere it back to the watch's body. This thing bothered me a little (just a little), because after I tighten it, the top strap has a noticeable gap, whereas the bottom part has no gap at all. I would like to know if other members are having this issue ? Is there a way to fix it ? If not, I could live with it, but I'd prefer to fix it, though. 3. Upon really close inspection, on the 2 crowns, I've found on the corners the plastic mould's joints. Again, not complaining, just minor details that I've found out. The above are just minor details that I've found, I don't own a gen Diver, but I do have a gen Safari, and by comparing both of these, if I don't go looking at the details/crowns/etc. closer than a palm's range, I don't think I could tell if it's gen or rep. But overall, I'm very happy with the build, super happy to be more precise, and I'm shocked at how well a $400 watch could replicate as closely to a close to $18,000 watch. This is my first rep, and probably won't be my last. I'm starting to look at Hublots. And kudos to InTime.co, I'll be purchasing my next rep soon, most probably a Hublot, within the next 1 week. I'm doing myself an intensive research.
  10. But ... but ... but ... he had made me laugh so much with this posts ...
  11. So this guy is gonna get the ban ? Hahaha ...
  12. It's only the 13th day of the year, and I have already read the funniest post/thread of the year. Can't stop laughing ...
  13. I've been as polite as polite could have been. Hehe ... Anyway, I've confirmed with Ryan that the watch is okay to be shipped out, will keep you guys updated and post some pictures when I receive it. Cheers ...
  14. I'm still learning by the day ... hopefully I won't be having as much questions when I decide to purchase another rep after this ...
  15. Not sure if I will be able to find a watchmaker who's willing to work on reps. Is it possible to do it myself ? Hahaha ... I could take it up as a hobby and learn how to service watches ...
  16. 369: Thanks for the help. Just wanted to make sure, the guide says that the amplitude should be below 310, and my watch is at 314. It says anything above should be serviced/replaced. How will that affect my movement ? Also, when you mentioned that the movement will be stabilized after a week on my wrist, what exactly is happening ? Just want to understand better. I've already emailed Jordan telling him that I'm happy with the watch and that he could arrange to have it shipped out ASAP. Again, great help, and thanks. My best buddy told me he'll look at the actual watch, if it looks good, he's going to buy one too. And another picture of the new DW I've received and analyzed, it does seem to look like I'm the lucky one regarding the slanted DW on V7 Divers. It looks pretty straight to me.
  17. Here ... more updated photos from Jordan ... please provide some feedback if it's okay ... Cheers ...
  18. Oh, that timegrapher thing to check for accuracy. Didn't know they do that for reps, but I've just sent him an email asking for a pic with timegrapher. Let's hope it's +-0 sec a day ... hehehe ... Anyway, what's acceptable ? anything within COSC range of -4 +6 sec ?
  19. Another photo that I've used to analyze the DW with all the parallel and perpendicular lines.
  20. I've just received the new QC photos, can you guys help me take a look at it if there's anything wrong ? Thanks.
  21. Franck Muller : Too much money, probably doesn't know much about watches, overpays for a brand that uses ETA. Some do argue that Franck Muller is the Master of Complications, because he outdid Patek with the watch with most parts, but it's still ETA. A heavily modified ETA is still ETA. Just like a KIA with gold paints and 1000HP engine will always be a KIA. I have many friends who works as salesman in jewellers, and they claim that people who buys FM are usually rich people who just go for something expensive that isn't Rolex, because they want to be unique. They don't even know anything about the complications.
  22. I've found this forum really useful in helping me educate myself on rep watches. But my wife's starting to investigate my new found hobby, spending so much time searching and reading through this forum, and she's wondering if there's a place somewhere like this forum that discusses high quality handbag reps ? I've done some searching, haven't seen much. There are so many websites selling all these reps and it's almost impossible to find out which factory it came from, etc. and how's the quality compared to gens. Any recommendations on where to start ? DW and I would like to educate ourselves on these topics. Cheers ...
