  1. a quick phone pic. Loving this watch!! Read some of the negatives that some buyers have had (mostly on RG) - I had a couple of my own, but were an easy/quick/cheap fix Say what you will (and there are many naysayers about Angus), but what he's collaboratively put together with the 'Z-Factory' and some passionate Geeks is a remarkable timepiece for the money. I commend him for this and congratulate him for the revenue he's generated from it Possibly QC wasn't the greatest it could be from the 'factory', but that can be understood (not forgiven however) given the insatiable and relentless demand to get this out before CNY Mine had misaligned hands (easy fix) Mine had play in the bezel (dental floss 'fix') That's it, no other issues Bracelet is superb - finish and fit is exceptional. Will R&R lube it at some point perhaps, but after a short bath in washing-up liquid with some baby oil added, it probably doesn't need it Dial is sublime, lume is way better than average Will at some stage put a Swiss heart in it and get a relume and get the bezel a proper fix, but right now it'll take some [censored] effort to get it off my wrist In short - fence-sitters, get off your splintered arses and get into the Black Bay ASAP!!

  5. I tried the guy in Pitt Street - wasn't that keen to use him after giving my son's $100 quartz TAG to him to change the battery and waterproof. Came back not waterproof and with a loose bezel I'm keen to see if there's anyone found a decent option locally? I have a JLC NSD in need of some love on the movement
  6. I like it, and I'm a card-carrying vintage Rolex fan/owner Yes, it could have been better. These guys make cosmetic changes only - not major structural or mechanical modifications. The changes they've made make for an attractive watch - far better IMHO than any modern Rolex I've seen of late Further cosmetic changes? Matte the dial, and top it with a domed plexi I'll take the plunge and get one made up. Thankfully it won't cost me 15,000GBP
  7. wow - just, wow http://rolexpassionreport.com/13265/the-heritage-submariner-big-crown-fusion-of-modern-and-vintage-for-60th-anniversary-of-the-iconic-steel-rolex-submariner/
  8. the one of the left (still have)... but the one on the right was pretty awesome
  9. thanks Freddy. It's progressed a bit from that diver extension link though
  10. Hey guys So my BK/PBDAD DSSD arrived yesterday. Loving it. However... I want to remove the diver extension, but am [censored] if I can work out how. I've googled, but there's a lack of clear instructions or a tutorial (unless I'm being a total numpty - feel free to chime in here, semaj!) The bezel insert will annoy me soon. What is the current thinking amongst the DSSD aficionados as to the 'closest to genuine' insert/pearl combo? I'll then send the parts to PBDAD so he can match the pearl lume to my dial relume Thanks fellas
  11. second hand is arrow-straight - just perfect A word to the wise though guys - changing straps on AP ROO's is "challenging", to say the least. The bezel screws can be a nightmare to get back in. I tried putting a bracelet on this yesterday - for the life of me couldn't get the screws to engage, so I gave up and put the rubber strap back on. Took me nearly two hours of swearing. Never again!!!
  12. Watch is from Toro. Mods are by Goin. PM me if you'd like more details about the mods and what they cost me
  13. I see what all the fuss is about now. The AP Diver is truly a stunning watch!! Everything about is screams 'quality'. I went for the Swiss movement, and had Toro send direct to Goin Full relume (including inner bezel) Sunken bezel screws Double AR crystal Movement serviced Waterproofed The AR is incredible - well worth the time, in my opinion. Watch sits superbly on the wrist and has great presence Anyone sitting on the fence with this one - don't hesitate!! BUY IT!! Quick phone pic...
  14. I'm good thanks. Winter is approaching, so am having to wear a hoodie with my board shorts now I've been on a bit of a buying spree lately (the AP Panda, plus a PAM243, an AP Diver, JLC Navy Seals and a PBdad/BK DSSD). Could say I'm catching up on lost time! How's life with you my friend?
  15. Monday here - Panda day again
  16. depends if you're after Swiss or Asian movement I bought my Swiss from Toro. Currently in the Goin Workshop getting "the works" treatment
  17. always been a right/right guy my two boys now have watches of their own (they're 9 and 6), and want to wear their watches "like Daddy does" which bugs the [censored] out of my ex-wife
  18. my mythical MBW Double Red Sea Dweller, with Palpatine mods (does anyone remember MBW and Palpatine??) Truly stunning
  19. Hey guys Anyone ever bought clothes from Watcheden? Some of the Hackett Aston Martin jackets look OK, but would appreciate any input Cheers Rich
  20. had my eye on a 332 for ages. Australia Post has denied me one I bought off a fellow member (long story, but the dumb [censored]s have lost it - said it got signed for at my house, by me, when I wasn't there...) Anyway! I've thought long and hard about red stuff on PAM dials, and the PVD PAM's are ideal candidates I reckon Have a crack at this, and let me know thoughts guys. I'me emailed a modder to let me know how feasible/pricey this is. I'm a fan of red on dials, and this is doing it for me right now
  21. found out today that the watchmaker I've used for the last 6 years is moving back to Holland next month. Great for him - for me, not so much! So I'm on the hunt for recommendations for a good watchmaker in Sydney who's rep-friendly All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks guys!!
