  4. Shoulda followed him - maybe the ploy was later to toss it into the collection plate with a flourish saying 'hot damn that sermon moved me'.
  5. Maybe thats the answer........ Detail it with PayPal as a TWO FOOT LONG KING KONG EXPLODING BUTT PLUG and maybe they wont be so keen to raise a PP dispute cos it didnt meet their expectations !!!! .
  6. Never mind, hardly a King's Ransom, & dont forget yours are extra special super dooper Panerai cleaning cloths .
  7. UK distributor is 'Lakeland' (may just have a store near you) Better Deal too http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/SearchRes...spx?kw=cape+cod .
  8. RULE # 1 - There are no rules RULE # 2 - See Rule # 1
  9. Remember tho that Rolex aint producing these because noone's buying them. They are simply an extension of the 'lookie here, I got a Rolex therefore Ive got money' mentality that perversely permeates this brand. Those suffering from this psychological hangup will surely equate one 'pebbledashed' with sparklers as an even bigger 'statement'. Simple marketing strategy.
  10. Similarly how many serious pro divers wont wet their feet without a Rolex Sub on their wrist - cosiderably less .

  12. Nice looking Citizen Their range of flying watches are good tools I used to wear one a lot in the air (the slide rule conversion bezels are super useable) .
  13. Had it not been a trade then a quick print of the PayPal transaction would have done the trick. You now either have to show its 'sale' value (which will require some collusion from the receipient) or Proof of YOUR purchase price (which may be far easier)
  14. In these circumstances the amount of postage paid (shown on the box) qualifies the weight of the item (will bear too much for sending an empty box!). @ thomasng "but I don't know how to tell them it was a fake watch, and I obivously made a false declaration on customs. " You dont say which origionating Postal Authority but the Customs Declaration generally has no bearing on the claim, insurance level and proof of value do. .
  15. Why worry? Hardly anyone out there will have the remotest idea what it is (or its purported worth) unless YOU start telling them. Always remember that umoungst the 'great unwashed' (and also to a very surprising extent umoungst watch 'buffs' too) the perceived pinnacle of horological spendour is a rather mundane $3 / $4K rudimentry dive watch of dated design. Anyway I dont beleive reps to be about hoodwinking the world, more a means to 'wear what you like, like what you wear' (without the astronomical price tag). Ho Hum . .
  16. The Reps........................ .
  17. I inwardly winced when I started to read this thread.......here we go again, long distance armchair officionados of the trade waxing on about conspiracies.... but kudos to you TJGladeRaider more sense than has yet been applied to the subject .
  18. Yes bad...terrible...no Asian movement works at all...believe the mythology...no watch with an Asian movement is any good, beware. How tho has China become the world's largest horological producer with such a massive annual turnover by producing watches that dont work......puzzleing. .
  19. Its just that if you have serious shopping to do the theatricals of this ritual repeated over & over just swallows up your time. .
  20. Ken Looking at that I thought I was back in China for a moment. There there be stuff like this by the truckload. So much so that at first you suspect the hotel secreted Lysergics into your breakfast .
  21. From my experience 'Italian Replicas' came into being many years back when a glut of miss matched all gold Rolexs straffed the european marketplace using non Rolex Italian made gold cases/bracelets .
  22. Looks like a good deal for a working tourbillon eventhough it is china make. Can the expert has some opion on that? Indeed it would be if it were a working Tourbillon - but it isnt. $120 will buy you the rep of your choice with this type of movement Is it a real working toubillon? Absolutely not Is it a good buy for $399 with a free single watch winder Sorry No .
  23. Just by way of an epilogue to this story. I called on one of my distributors last night and from across the room he looked at my watch (this one) and said........ "It doesn't does it?" "what?" says I "TALK TO YOU"
  24. Wrong guy....my headache is a Canuck not UK based .
