  1. The AR company I've been dealing with (and need to set up a RWG run through soon) has told me the following... Their durable bluish AR coat does NOT require the special eyeglass cloth to clean. Spit and T-shirt cleaning is fine, and won't scratch the coat. It is more durable than what Lenscrafters provides, however nowhere near the durability of sapphire. I.e. it won't pass the "screwdriver" test. Theirs is a mil spec coating and I don't believe its durability can be surpassed by any coating. In all liklihood it's going to be the same coating used on dual coated gen crystals. FWIW
  2. The 7mm versions will be coming shortly.......
  3. They don't. Perhaps the analogies are going a tad overboard now, eh?!
  4. We can only evaluate your ability to post photos at this point.... And so far, not so good.
  5. Zactly! If you don't want to pay to mod or service your watch then don't pay to mod or service your watch. If you don't like what's on TV, then change the channel or turn it off. If you don't like ketchup, then don't eat ketchup. Me? I like my watches with nice bright super luminova. I like them to be properly serviced and keeping good time. I like to watch mixed martial arts on TV. And I like ketchup and Tobasco on my scrambled eggs. To each his own.
  6. Another writeup for the ages, Rob. Fantastic. Thanks for all the time you spend providing these second-to-none educations for us all!!!
  7. Hehe. Yea, I think I might know who performed that job!!! :yucky: Crayons and a spatula is very possible. But my money is on cupcake frosting and LSD.
  8. TT - I say get the pic between the lugs. It'd be educational for everyone.
  9. I guess I should have rephrased.... I haven't quite gotten up the nerve to drop that much on a watch. But here she is:
  10. TT, I've been scouting as well.... But I'm more interested in a gen red dial... And I'm even more picky than you because I'm looking for one manufactured in my birth year. *sigh* I found one, but not at a price I was ready to pay: $6500. What's this one going for?
  11. In a heartbeat.
  12. No doubt about the hands, I agree. So what about case variations from one watch to another?
  13. A little off topic, but have you seen any variation in hands from, say, 1999 to the present? I don't think I have. Now I know, of course, we're talking vintage here....
  14. Huh?! Who is angry?
  15. Oh and BTW, read again.
  16. Alot of rep hands look like the ones you posted, so that one is harder if indeed it is a gen (and I haven't looked at it for more than a glance). But staying on topic, I have yet to see any rep hands that look like the ones on the watch TWO TONE posted!!!
  17. I'm not even sure what your question is... but TwoTone's watch has gen Rolex hands on it.
  18. HAHAHA or Alice Cooper's.
  19. Nope. Tudor hands don't look exactly like Rolex hands.
  20. I'm curious why you say this. His white dial is genuine. A red genuine dial would have looked equally sharp, no? Just personal preference? Or did you mean you like the white rep dial better than the red rep dial?
  21. I'm going with gen even though the CGs don't look quite right. I'm fairly certain the hands are gen (but if they're ETA-compatible hands I MUST find out where to get a set) and therefore so is the movement. Now I suppose someone could have put a gen movement in an MBW case, but..... why? And the dial is definitely gen. So I say gen.
  22. Bump......... Pay up time peeps!!!
  23. Fantastic work. That gen dial makes the watch. Absolutely gorgeous. Don't be afraid to file down those crown guards a bit more, and definitely get in line for a Watchmeister datewheel!!
  24. My other watches are getting alot of rest in the cozy watch box lately...
  25. The variations in detail never cease to amaze me!!
