I think the usual use of the rotating bezel on a GMT watch is for using a third time zone... You would rotate the bezel by one increment per hour or time zone. So, if home time is San Francisco (GMT- and third time is New York (GMT-5), rotate it three increments counter clockwise which would be +3.
The path of the sun as a 24 hour hand is kinda cute, though. "By far a better way" though? Nah. A neat twist for sure, though!
Good info, Bill. Thanks again! I will note that I tried a set of watch prince 22mm bars and the tips were too thin to look correct through the case holes as well as the bars themselves being a bit too long to fit my TW Best case.
I like the look of smooth/brushed titanium. My titanium Seawolf Avenger has a smooth finish. The 177h is smooth too. It's a nice change of pace and has nothing to do with weight for me. But, one CAN have too many Ti watches IMO.
Pics of the gen I have seen also had that bead blasted look..... I'm not a fan of it. I saw a guy on Paneristi had his 177H bead blasted and then tried to sell it... He could barely get $3k for it.
I am going to see what I can do about getting partial lot pricing for an early run. The AR guy is very willing to work with us. He has often times large orders end with a split lot final run which could free up some space in the machine for a small run. This would help bring pricing down, but also, it would be a longer turn time because he'd have to hold our crystals until the space freed up on an already-scheduled run for another customer.....
I'd love the Bergeon set, but have found that the combination of the Home Depot Stanley set and the Radio Shack set (link) has met my needs so far - including VCO screws!!
Well, I can certainly ship directly to Rob for you. There was a slight delay about a week ago when I had to slightly modify the specs based on the lens shop's feedback. But after I resubmitted the updated specs they told me that they would expedite the job.
We'll just see. They should arrive in line with your timeframe. Of course, if there is any manufacturing mistake or other issues with the cyclopes when they arrive, then all bets are off. Cross your fingers and just hope for the best!
I've got a few stubborn bezels that I want to remove as well. I've bent a few and don't want to ruin any good ones. So I'm on the verge of ponying up for the $150 bezel remover tool......
Well, I must admit to having used a piece of planed poplar as a die and a bar clamp as a press myself and not having issues. But I've only done this with flat crystals. I wouldn't attempt it with domed crystals....
All - I'm thinking that it might make sense to wait for the AR run until after the 7mm (6.8 to be exact) cyclopes arrive. Anyone who wants a new cyclops and AR would need to install (or have it installed) the cyclops first and then get the whole thing coated. If you coat the crystal, you're not going to be able to upgrade the cyclops without damage to the coating.
Comments?
Admin, my bad.... I thought these were the old Photo Gallery forums and all the posts were gone. But now I see these are brand new discussion forums.
Nevermind.
