Is My Journey Over? Birth Year Grail Piece Finally Acquired
Alfalover replied to droptopman's topic in The Rolex Area
May I ask a question? Do the missing parts on the lume and the stains on the hands not scream ''water has leaked in!''? I am just asking, I am no watch expert. -
Hello guys, I'm going on and I am trying to save for the cause. thanks everyone for the support, haven't had much time to write but I'm keeping it up
-
Thanks, really. I am happy to know that someone out there understands my situation (and the one of other millions). I will keep going, no doubt, thanks again!
-
I am once again speechless... But for once I want to post something happy. It is curious that I didn't tell you my dog's name and that no one asked, I don't know why The dog's name is Alfa which is tied to alfaromeo obviously and Alpha referred to the highest ranking individual, in this case in my house hahaha here are some pictures of a few months ago! And that is my mom

It's part of the rep game. Sometimes our watches are damaged during transport and dealers still stand up for them, like ryan at Intime did with me once, he was great, and if you think about it, besides faulty watches, why should they pay for dhl's (example) mistakes? This for me is enough to trust them and respect them.

I am not the kind of person you are describing. I started off my life in Colombia, in Cartagena precisely, in one of the poorest barrios. Didn't own a pair of shoes and me and my family worked our way out of that kind of [censored]. So it is unfair for me to be described like that. I just started off further down than many others, it doesn't mean one day I will still be in this condition (that is ok for me compared to other people still living in colombia so I still thank god for being so lucky).

I have actual friends in real life but unfortunately at 23 years old, most of us don't have a job and the ones that do, earn more or less what I earn. I have NOT come to this board asking for money, I have come because I love watches and I felt like sharing this, please read or ask before saying such things. I am working my ass off, you shouldn't offend me and say I'm pathetic just because I spoke about a problem. If I have come here to work, it is only because I want to change my position and who knows where I will be in one or two years, this doesn't make the thread stink, I didn't come begging for money, I just told a story, my story, if you don't like it don't write to me, or support me, I really don't know what to do with offences in this moment of my life.

Oh guys, I am really sorry to hear that. I didn't mean to approach the members asking for funds, nor I would like to see this thread locked. In the beginning I opened the topic because I find this place gorgeous and felt I could share even this sort of thing. I though maybe someone would come up with an idea or something I hasn't thought of. I don't want to to break any rules, by any means, so if you want to lock the thread or delete it I will accept your decision with no problems, rules are rules. I am sorry for having caused a problem, this forum is such a nice place, really full of ''fine watches and fine people''. I have received lots of affection in this thread and that is more than I could ask. P.S. I just read the posts above. I'm sad lots of people are so skeptical about what is happening to me, but as others have said I have asked no money. I could lie to you and say I wouldn't accept it but I won't. If you prefer I won't accept money from any users, it is really important for me to be respected here. I'm not a lazy person and I am working hard. Unemployment is terrible in my country but I left my family, all for the sake of working. Anyway thankyou again for all your kind words, you are all very special

Hello guys, I have news. First I would like to thank some users for writing to me in PM and helping me A LOT. These people were fantastic with me. Second, the local vet and I went to the market and raised 4000€, I was astonished. The vet has the money and as soon as I will reach the 8000€ the dog will have his operation. Now I just need to find 4000€ plus another 600€ for the visits. It's way harder than it sounds and I am still quite sure I won't make it or won't make it on time. In case I don't make it the money will go to a fund for helping stray dogs.

Hello, thankyou! unfortunately the one on sale is a 1601, a datejust, while mine is a date. Still trying to find out how much it is worth
-
A clib? Where? Alone? Sounds really interesting!
-
Exactly, I will have a shortage of around 4000€. Thankyou very much for your words, you guys are giving me the strength to keep going. I think it is a problem of money most of all, I have no problem in living a humble life and working hard, but knowing that someone else might pay with his life for my shortage of money makes me feel ashamed. The operation costs exactly 4000€ per side of the hip, for a total of 8000€, plus something for visits and medicines but it is the minor part. Guys, I REALLY want to thank you all for feeling for me and being so close. THANKYOU Thankyou mike! I am looking for charities in Italy, thanks for the advice, I hope to find something soon. I know that there are situations, like incurable diseases, that need people to be strong and accept the truth. The thing I can't get over is that he can be cured, but he will die for my fault.
-
Unfortunately the prosthesis has to be bought in advance and no one is willing to lend us the money. I have spent countless hours on the phone. It seems that my dog will have to pay for my inability to gain a decent position in society and being able to pay for his cures. I am trying to understand if anything I possess could be sold, rolex included obviously, but unfortunately I do not own much
-
Hello, thankyou very much for the replies, I am very very sad. This is the dog...he is so sweet, he really doesn't deserve this. As you can see in the picture too, he's always sitting because of his dysplasia. In the picture he is tied to a chain, something I do for a few minutes per day, just the time to try and give him some medicines to stop him suffering so much. He doesn't like them and he tries to run and cries a lot. It is devastating

Hello guys. As I have said in another topic I work in the canary islands now, I have a very low wage but at least I don't feel the weight of my mother having to pay food and other necessities for me. My mother called me crying today, our dog, the dog my father bought before leaving, has hip dysplasia. If we don't do something we will have to suppress him because he will suffer too much. Now the paradox. There is something we can do, 100% sure. He can have a hip prothesis implanted and recover 100%, he is 9 months old and he's all my mother has. In Italy, the operation costs 4500€ for each leg for a total of 9000€ plus the doctor visiting him and xrays. I can't believe a human being would let a dog die just because of money. I am selling my inherited rolex (from my father https://rwg.cc/topic/182037-inherited-rolex?page=1 ) straight away, but it is worth 5000€ at best, and I still have to send it to Domi and it will cost me amother 550€ considering shipping. I am desperate. Absolutely desperate, his hips will dislocate and he'll suffer so much if I don't do anything. I live on 600€ minus rental and expenses and I'm left with around 100€ per month and my contract isn't enough for a bank to lend me anything (went today). What would you guys do? Maybe I just need words of comfort...I know how it will end..I can't believe it is only a matter of money. I consider myself a man but I am crying like a child.

I have always wanted an 116613 but could never afford it. Now that I have this watch I would like to sell it and buy an 116613lb. But the prices of the new models, such as the one I want, are increasing every year. They say vintage models are increasing too, but will my date increase in resale value? Will it keep up with the 116613 or will the gap grow bigger and bigger? This is important to me because it could make the difference between having to buy now or keeping the watch and selling later.
-
Sure! I said engraved just because I'm a technical-word noob hahaha I will surely post pictures as soon as it comes back from service!
-
Hello! I'm sure, on the back of the case there is a clear 18k engraved, where others say 14k. Having found only 14k around I had thought it could be worth a little more, am I wrong? None the less, I'll ask bob'swatches what they offer
-
Mine is 18k not 14k, how much could it be worth?
-
Thanks, I'm going for the crystal change then. Anyone know a rough value of the watch being 18k with gold bracelet? I'd like to trade it for a 16613, 116613 or a 116618 and would like to know how much cash I need to put on top of it.

-
That would be perfect! Is the place in Milan or Pisa? The watch is in the capital now.

Benvenuto dalle Canarie

That car actually is in Italy, I live there 50% of the time! I inherited the car years ago and now I am selling it because I can't afford insurance ect... I have tried with those companies but unfortunately, due to the crisis they are not hiring new people. I am now working in a bar for 700€, 13 hours a day in the Canary Islands. I feel desperate I'm sorry but you don't sound like an alfista! ahahah just joking, anyway it is not an aftermarket flap. It is a genuine alfaromeo flap, available in the official accessories and came from the factory with the spoiler.

Hi guys, got the watch checked. It is a 18K full gold. Looking around, the vast majority are 14k or gold shell/plated. I was asked 450€ and 14 weeks by Domi, and 600€ by a local and respected (on forums) watchsmith. Domi said he will use good quality non OEM rolex crystals as they are not available. Will this reduce its value? I have to ask the local watchsmith what he will use. What could the value of the watch be? Once repaired and serviced? Thanks guys, you've really guided me through, I'm sure I'll be a happy 1503 owner in the end
