I agree with you...I believe he priced it accordingly to what he paid for it...
but from time to time on TZ appear some hommage PAMs not worth half of the asking price...and that's what the OP wanted to point out
I even heard that it could be ready in a month!
hopefully it will be good enough to convert it to an Angelus powered one...I have a mvt waiting for that one!
I just got back form my 2 day biz trip and I see this thread is really going on strong...the knowledge of some of you guys is really to appreciate...the pic from R with all the dials w hands is worth every praise...
I like the choice for the Angelus hands...curved, rose gold...hopefully the sec hand will be done as well...
as for the Cortebert hands, since the blue ones are out of competition, my vote goes to nr.15...
you guys are amazing!!
great project indeed!
I would be in for at least one set for the Angie and one for the Cortie...if the price allows it, I'd be in for even more...
as for the Angelus hands...there are the "curved" ones as in your pic and the "flat" ones - that are very similar...
I could maybe take some measures of the hands once I come back home (this weekend...) but I cannot make promises...
I bet VDB will have a lot to tell us on this topic!
***small update with the strap selection for the Angelus beauty***
this are the other 3 straps made for this one...all vintage ones... V strap with sew in GPF replica buckle (best version currently on the market custom made by a RWG member) gunny strap - Caitlin Serie I (VDB will sew in a buckle for me in...thanks my friend!) VDB vintage strap made for the members present at the GTG in Erfurt in 10/2008
there is absolutely no reason for the EoD with sec at 12 not to be done...the last version, both chinese and MBW's were sold like crazy...the ingredients are there, they have to do is a proper dial...that's all!
sooner or later it will be done, especially because I traded my MBW version not so long ago, maybe that is a sign...
S will make it running again...his after sale service is excellent, no worries there...
movements in general are delicate, vintage ones even more...especially the ones where the spare parts are rare...
I wear my Angelus from S for the past couple of months and so far so good...let's hope it will continue this way!
For all the Panerai fans there is a nice model kit of the S.L.C (Siluro Lenta Corsa) - slow moving torpedo...I bet there are a lot of skilfull members who will buy it and build themselves this model...
small review can be found here : http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/axis/i...reviewbg_1.html
there is as well the model from VICTORIA :
There are forums for this hobby as well...looks like an addictive hobby as well!
wow...this one is sooo nice...S is building some amazing pieces with the end of this year! I can only imagine what is he going to build in the next 2009!
enjoy your new beauty!
