  1. While in the process of gathering parts for a 1016 Explorer build I came across a sea dweller 16600 "kit" on the Yukiwatch site. The price seemed right so I pulled the trigger. Shipping was super fast and am pleased (for the most part) with the set. All I could do was chuckle when I took a close look at the inside of the case back. Check out the spelling error. "Switzerladn"
  2. Its been 8 to 10 years but my last was probably either a Cohiba Robusto or a Romeo y Julieta no.
  3. Belgian trappist ales are my favorite thing to drink. My first was a Chimay dubbel and worked my way through the tripels and quads. The high price and the high alcohol content keep me from drinking too many.
  4. Do you do relumes? I have a Whoopy dial and silver hands. I'm looking to get them relumed to match.
  5. You guessed wrong but maybe I didn't used the correct search terms
  6. I'm a noob and not sure what that means. I did a search for "Vac" and got 0 results.
  7. Anyone doing relume work in US. I'm doing a 1016 build and need dial and hands relumed to match and maybe lightly aged.
  8. Are you still doing relume work? I have a Whoopy dial and a set of silver hands with white lume. I would like to have them relumed to match and maybe lightly aged. If you are doing this, what do you charge and what's the turn around time. If not, can you point me in the right direction?

  9. Looking for hands for my Explorer 1016 build. Im using a an eta 2824 movement so I'm thinking Tudor sub mercedes hands in silver with yellow lume. So far my searches have not turned up any. Any guidance?
  10. I am finally ready to order an explorer dial this weekend when I get paid. I have a jmb case and a set of yuki tudor sub hands in gold with yellow lume. I have an eta 2824-2 I'll be using as well. I'm thinking about a gilt dial (is this the black dial with gold lettering and numbers?) are all of your dials regular explorer I dials or do you do special editions dials like Tiffany or Cartier?

  11. Almost finished collecting parts and have a couple questions. I bought a new ETA 2824-2 movement and plan to use a Whoopy dial. Do I need to remove the date wheel from the movement? My other question is whether the stem on the 2824 needs to be modified in any way. Parts I have acquired so far: JMB case Gen 6mm Crown 2 hand sets - one from Yuki and one from Rics Set of spring bars Choice Cuts leather strap
  12. I understand that with yuki's dials the feet have to be remove for it to work with an ETA movement. How is the dial held in place?
  13. Ordered a hand set from yukiwatch: View Images Price: $14.00 Availability: in stock Here is Rolex Tudor Oyster Submariner Mercedes golden hand set fit for ETA movement project. Aftermarket Tudor Oyster Submariner Mercedes hand set with yellow lume. Can 100% fit for Tudor ETA cal. 2824/ 2784 / 2892 automatic movement. Anyone have feedback on these hands?
  14. Where did you find hands on the explorer photos you posted back in November? I'm collecting parts for a 1016 build (got my jmb case) and hands seem to be the hardest to find at least yellow one to match gilt dial

Sorry. Just saw this. Which photos are you referring to?

  15. Trusty has an Omega Seamaster 300 36.25mm case diameter. He has it as a "ladies" watch. It looks like a close rep of a Seamaster 300 "unisex" ref. 212.30.36.20.01.002. Says its made from a real "dissected" Seamaster. Movement is a Miyota 9105. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this. Anyone have experience with the Trusty Omega reps? Price will be close to $400 with shipping. Is this a $400 watch?
  16. In more prosperous times I had an Omega Seamaster Pro 2252.50 36.25mm. I sold it when it needed an expensive overhaul. I wish I had kept it. Are there parts out there for either a rep or franken seamaster? Where can I find the most accuarate case, dial, movement and bracelet.
  17. Will likely use a Whoopy dial so I'm thinking whatever works with a JMB case Whoopy dial will dictate my choice of movement in the end.
  18. Scored a 2783 on eBay for $20 advertised as complete and running but unserviced. Still unsure whether to have it service or choose something different
  19. Which movements would those be?

    ETA 2783

I'm in the process of planning a vintage Explorer build. Have read several recommendations for the ETA 2783 movement. I've been doing some searching on eBay and I've found some very inexpensive pieces ( compared to the 2824 ) either in the form of the movement alone or watches equipped with a 2783. For example I found a couple of watches in the $50 range. I've also seen just the movement for around $100. Do these prices sound about right?

  22. Any idea how to make contact. I tried sending a PM but pop up message said "Whoopy12 cannot receive messages"
  23. I'm in the process of planning a vintage Explorer build. Have read several recommendations for a Whoopy dial. I'm new to this and have no idea who / what Whoopy is. I take it they are awesome dials though.
  24. This will be my first build. After a lot of thought I've decided to do a vintage style Explorer. My initial thoughts are to use an ETA movement. What am I in for in terms of finding and fitting the appropriate case, movement ring, dial, hands, stem, crown and crystal. I know there are a ton of things I don't know about or haven't thought of and I want to plan the project out completely before I start spending money on parts. Thanks in advance ... Mike
  25. Hello from North Carolina. I am mostly interested in building my own watches at the moment. Watches of interest are Vintage Rolex Explorers, Breitlings and Omega Seamaster. If ANyone has info on where to find parts especially cases, dials and hands I would be obliged. I am also interested in modern Rolex watches eg Submariner and Sea-Dweller
