  1. Howdy fellas,

I have several builds on deck and a few tweaks to existing builds as well. could use some insight with some questions I have. I am consulting "the bones" of RWI greatness

    Endlinks

580s-I have a rep set that have the springbar guides to small in diameter for 2mm gen bars. You know the deal. I have managed to mod one set to work on me 1675 but the second set I have are a PIA. Has anyone bought any 580s from say, WSO that fit and looked good?

    Tudor 79260

I bought a killer 93150 from jsnowballs81 that I read is pretty much the same as a 9315 that is on the Tudor Chronotime 79260s. Here is what my notes say,

"The Tudor 79260 could come oyster bracelet (78400 tudor bracelet with 605 endlink) same as Rolex 78360..or78500/380b is identical to 93150"

So, anyone does anyone know where or who to get some 605's or 380b' from? Other than the obvious eBay.

    Tudor 9401
My Tudor Snowflake as a good Cartel 93150 on it but some 555 endlinks ??? Not sure what these are but most likey they were a pair that fit well when jmb build the Flake. So, I'd like to get some 580s for it too....(I think thats the period correct end link for this Snowflake)

    Bracelet

Now, I need another 93150 for a future 16800 build, since I gave up the 93150 I bought from JJ to give to jmb for the Tudor Chono build.
J said he thought, and mitchbaria confirmed it's a 93150 vended from Puretime. Just asking if anyone has bought one recently and the price?

Anyway, thanks for reading and helping

  2. What is your budget? It need to be an OP dial....I got one that is still in a donor cadaver 1675....It's what we called the "Columbian Air Crash" survivor. I had'nt thought about selling it yet, but I might.

  3. Yes sir we are on the same page for sure. I need some finer re-polish but its closer. My friend Rick917 sent me some pics a while back of a 16000 early serial that had some great wear on it as a reference too. Coolness..

Did you use a Dremel ball bit to chamfer your lug hole apex's?

  4. Howdy: fellas,

After much thought I decided to gather some more parts for my 9401 Snowflake. Originally inspired by jmb, then Bonesey built one that set RWI on FIRE for the blue Flake. Finally re-inspired by my friend civic who located a dial maker over at HF and woof*, also my friend and DFW Texas brethren, who hooked me up with the insert vendor. Thanks to Shannon for a BUNCH of gen pics for comparison...Without further ado, My Flake

  5. Softened 93150...

    Products:

    180 grit

A wore out sponge 400 grit block

    Scotch Brite

    000 Synthetic Steel wool

I have softened many a replica Rolex bracelet but this Putetime 93150 is pretty damn good out of the box. This 16800 build needed what I call "fauxtina"..The 29 years of look w/o being what I also call BTF....Beat To F***....I see 2 sides of the vintage coin...gentle aged un restored (my thing) and BTF (not my thing). You know, the tied to a trailer hitch of your pickup truck and dragged down a country gravel road OR found at the bottom of the ocean for 20 years.

So I used these products to soften the case edges, bracelet edges etc. I have lots of gen pics of natural wear locations and after I worked the fauxtina down in various stages I RE added some deep marks over the finished fauxtina...Not done yet, but better and the watch as a whole is as soft as her butt.....:)

Comments, good or flame and suggestions welcome.

  6. The bezel YES from said unknown vendor....the insert has to go. The bezel though, the scallops are insane good and accurate. The bezel fits said 3035 case, with a tension spring, click spring and bezel per gen....quite bad ass imo. Searching for a better insert though.
