  1. That was probably me that mentioned it earlier...the cheezy movement in my Explorer II. The rotor was barely working and the movement stopped at the 20 second mark...in my attempt to greeze the rotor bearing and I killed the movement. I would suggest not monkying with it if your not experianced. If the rep is one you want to keep, seek out a member that can service that movement, it prolly just needs to be lubed and adjusted properlly, or you may end up killing it as I did.

    Good Luck,

    Rob

  2. Any good ideas on how to best distract oneself while waiting for a watch to arrive? I ordered a black c-sub from BK and it is now with Pbdad for re-lume and a few other minor touches, it has only been about a month, and already can't stand the wait. There should be tranquilizers available for use after ordering a watch, that way a person would not have to be awake during the wait...

    Quietly jonesing over here...

    Hey fellow Texan,

Good things come to those who wait...my suggestion...have TWO subs...one low end spare one full monty LOL or take some Diazepam..LOL. Tom Petty says, "The waiting is.....the hardest part" or Shout Box....clean the garage?

P.S. I am waiting on my new 16750 Explorer II and a Datejust franken thats being built...I feel ya man.

  3. I changed my whole viewpoint on life.. that day.

Prayers to all that suffered and those that still suffer with loss

Thank you vly for starting this thread

Me too Randy...I heard Beemer's wife say this morning, "Thank you for your courage, LETS ROLL" I got seriously emotional.

  4. Hi, I joined this forum last week, read a ton of very helpful information and also made my first purchase.

My main interests are in Rolex, IWC, Panerai, and Hublot.

I currently own 4 reps: My first purchase was a Rolex Yachtmaster which was probably a mistake, having not done enough research.

My second purchase was a Tag Heuer Grand Carerra and I am truly in love with it.

Next I got a Rolex DSSD and that is my current fav-I wear it almost all the time.

My fourth purchase was a Panerai 111? (Luminor Marina)?- I also really like it alot, looks and feels like the gen.

I will post pics soon, I promise.

After reading a lot of reviews about trusted dealers, I chose to go with Andrew. ordered three and they are on the way:

They are the Rolex GMT2,Hublot Diver 4000, and the newest Porsche Design Worldtimer Titanium.

I will definitely let you know how they are when I get them and post pics!

It is very nice to meet everyone and I hope that I can be a positive contributor to this forum,

    Jeff

    Hey Jeff,

I too have a Panerai 111 M Luminor from Josh at Perfect Clones...out of 2 dozen reps I have bought...this is by FAR the best represented rep I have ever owned...perion I wear mine 4 times a week at least..lume is great and the feel is great however the strap was scrapped for a big ole beefy black w/white stiched strap.

    Peace,

  5. I LOVE the older one but this one is ok. only thing that kills me for this watch is the GMT hand and all of the orange! :( but hey great watch though!! I have 2 explorer IIs on the way both 40mm both may be for sale soon one is new rehaut engravings other is lug holes no rehaut engraving.

Please PM me when you get ready to sell...I'd like a crack at the "to sell too" list.

    Peace,

    Rob

  6. Read that the gen has just started trickling in to dealers in Europe. Perfect timing! I'm on the list (no deposit) at my local dealer. Never have bought a Rolex new and probably won't this one, but I'd like to try on the gen and maybe get a rep for the time being. Love the white face/orange hand.

    Hey Matt,

I just window shopped Rolex's this past weekend and was SHOCKED....just SHOCKED....retail on ExpII was $8000...retail on Submariner $8000 retail on AirKing...$4500....NO FRIGGING WAY...I might suggest wating on the pre-owned market,,,even if your stupid rich..WHY drop $8000 on a Rolex?

    I bought my Z series 16610 in 2006 for $4175....now $8000...NOOOO WAYYYYYYYY

    Hi ya Eric....waz up?

I like the Invictas cause I can beat em around and get em wet for cheap....the vintage Timex is the next one I get fixed...I have a mid 60's electric SOMEWHERE that I cant find a watchsmith who can get parts to fix it...Hamilton Electrics yes....Timex no.

  9. I am not really into vintage stuff ..well thats not correct...I prefer late model Subs, Explorers, PAMs...but I SOOO prefer 60'70's vintage Datejust's...but I have these vintage pieces
