  1. It would be interesting to know which parts are interchangeble with the 616 and 618. for instance, the parts of the 624, 620 or maybe even some parts of the 5xx cortebert series. that would be great to know for many panerai vintage enthusiasts...

    So anyone knows? Tourby?

  2. Wow... just saw this Angelus clock being sold on ebay, don't even 100% know for sure if it is the 190 or the 240 and the state of the movement being clean/dirty etc is also unknown.

but sold for $ 4233. ebay number 160359609409

Seems it is getting harder and harder to get a nice angelus movement when prices like these are skyrocketing.

  3. This week I got another crystal back from Geoff.

I called him on his work phone and he directly picked up. And told me it arrived "yesterday" and that he will send it out soon. whatever. He did, I don't know if he was telling the truth or that it was just because I called him. But the good thing is that I got it back.

Since the rep AR had been removed I cannot use it on my pam252 anymore. I had to buy a whole new case + crystal from my dealer for 110usd to get it with AR again. the pam252 crystal cannot be AR-ed by Chieftang, since it also has a layer of mineral inside and the magnifier is glued in. Will use it for another pam project, maybe a 024A.

  4. what kind of model are you looking for? --> sportive (chrono?), contempory, tough and rough (submersible series), or more vintage style, or chique?

And what is the budget? Out of the box most Panerais are just ok, but modded they become great. DSN has some super lumed models as well, but also does not sell all pam models...

Personally I modd all my watches, once you have seen the superlume, you will NEVER want to go back to rep lume. For sure. But it has a price too. You will probebly also need to buy a better strap then.....

  5. Hi, as far as I know the bezel of the full ceramic Ice Bang is made of either pvd with a coating or made of titanium. It got great looks, but both are very easy to scratch. with the pvd and coating you will see the underneath color below the coating. if that is a different color (which is) than the coating, then it looks ugly. with titanium the color of a scratch will be the same, but ti is scratches easily.

If you buy the watch for many years of pleasure, better look for a model with ceramic bezel imo.

  6. The Seagul ST19 'Lemania' is one of the most reliable movements used in replica watches. From first hand I know that compared to all the 6497, 7750, 2836 & 2824's, the ST19 is the movement with the least amount of problems. Lets say that again, with almost no problems at all.

One of the most respected watch repair guys of this forum I remember has said once 'A watch smith worst nightmare'. Why? because it never breaks, so no money to be made by a watch smith....

  7. Hokky: If there is any sign of a green tinge it either ain't CT AR or the prep work was bad. CT apears to think that the most likely explanation is that it is not his AR at all. Draw your own conclusions. I get realy upset at the (aperant) implications from Rocketeer that any of this is Chief's fault. We know that is untrue.

Chief is a perfectionest of the highest order.

    Col.

NO PREPWORK WAS DONE ON THESE CRYSTALS........

  8. The 2 crystals that I received from Rocketeer were also a bit green hued. Though the AR is quite well. IF this is not a Chieftang AR, than it is a rip off. Because I remember very well that Geoff mentioned on the phone that the UK AR lab is a LOT cheaper than what we pay for Chieftang.

Well, it matters to me that I pay a lot for an not so good UK AR with different quality. We only wanted the Chieftang AR...
