It would be interesting to know which parts are interchangeble with the 616 and 618. for instance, the parts of the 624, 620 or maybe even some parts of the 5xx cortebert series. that would be great to know for many panerai vintage enthusiasts...
So anyone knows? Tourby?
-
upgrade man! why else do you think Tourby went through all the trouble making these crowns? They are great, standard rep crown is really showing 'fake'.
-
check repgeek, not panerai area, but vintage watch area.
and you could look around at dsn site. and maybe ask him. more people get cases for these projects from him. I am sure he knows more as well.
-
at this price, the Chinese could rep the Angelus. And let Andrew and Josh etc sell it. 'Made from copying a genuine'.
-
Maybe be not just replica lovers are in the game, but more and more paneristi guys with some big money are also getting into the angelus panerai reps. Probably they don't know that for a real perfect model they need 2-3 movements for the long term enjoyment of this movement. (3x $4000)
-
Wow... just saw this Angelus clock being sold on ebay, don't even 100% know for sure if it is the 190 or the 240 and the state of the movement being clean/dirty etc is also unknown.
but sold for $ 4233. ebay number 160359609409
Seems it is getting harder and harder to get a nice angelus movement when prices like these are skyrocketing.

This week I got another crystal back from Geoff.
I called him on his work phone and he directly picked up. And told me it arrived "yesterday" and that he will send it out soon. whatever. He did, I don't know if he was telling the truth or that it was just because I called him. But the good thing is that I got it back.
Since the rep AR had been removed I cannot use it on my pam252 anymore. I had to buy a whole new case + crystal from my dealer for 110usd to get it with AR again. the pam252 crystal cannot be AR-ed by Chieftang, since it also has a layer of mineral inside and the magnifier is glued in. Will use it for another pam project, maybe a 024A.

what kind of model are you looking for? --> sportive (chrono?), contempory, tough and rough (submersible series), or more vintage style, or chique?
And what is the budget? Out of the box most Panerais are just ok, but modded they become great. DSN has some super lumed models as well, but also does not sell all pam models...
Personally I modd all my watches, once you have seen the superlume, you will NEVER want to go back to rep lume. For sure. But it has a price too. You will probebly also need to buy a better strap then.....

Riccardi,
this is not a problem that can be solved easily by a local watch smith.
The only thing is to send it back to the dealer. Or to have it serviced (cost around 170-250usd) by a local watch smith.
Good luck.

Hi, as far as I know the bezel of the full ceramic Ice Bang is made of either pvd with a coating or made of titanium. It got great looks, but both are very easy to scratch. with the pvd and coating you will see the underneath color below the coating. if that is a different color (which is) than the coating, then it looks ugly. with titanium the color of a scratch will be the same, but ti is scratches easily.
If you buy the watch for many years of pleasure, better look for a model with ceramic bezel imo.

The Seagul ST19 'Lemania' is one of the most reliable movements used in replica watches. From first hand I know that compared to all the 6497, 7750, 2836 & 2824's, the ST19 is the movement with the least amount of problems. Lets say that again, with almost no problems at all.
One of the most respected watch repair guys of this forum I remember has said once 'A watch smith worst nightmare'. Why? because it never breaks, so no money to be made by a watch smith....

That Lyman Turbo Twin Tumbler would otherwise also the perfect machine to have leather straps aged. perfect for Panerai / vintage straps for example.

Nice, where did you get the brown AP band? Gunnystraps or somewhere else?
I guess you made it yourself, after looking around at your previous post... Fantastic results on the B&R as well!!!

I am still waiting to get a crystal for a pam252 back from Geoff. I think the AR has been removed already. i sent him 3-4 emails with the request to send it back to me uncoated. So far no replies.

Hi guys,
I bought this automatic watch test winder from the Brand 'Rotor'. It is missing the brackets on which the watches should be mounted.
Does anyone know where to source these kind of brackets? Looking forward to any help or tips, etc.
Thanks for looking..
Ps. Also bought the TYMC timegrapher. Works great!

I guess the singe ar is more correct. Currently there was no single AR run with chieftang afaik, so I went for double. And I also like double more with my BR01 model.
-
I particularly like the 2007 LE silverish/grey face.
I love mine.
Luxlover0911
Isn't that the wrong version with the incorrect lume marker @ three and thus wrong position of date and cyclops?

I have a similar watch that Zig made relumed for me. It is still parts, since the crystal is on its way from Chief to me. Can't wait to feel and see it on the wrist... Excellent TOP NOTCH WORK AS ALWAYS FROM ZIG.

these Santos mid size models with rubber straps are a lot better in terms of finish compared to the standard Santos 100 with leather strap.
-
Wow, great post for the 1st one.
It already looks a lot better, but still not perfect. The pin should be a bit more flush with the CG itself. only way to get that done is to get the pin out.

4) quit calling me a liar
As I saw before, also in PM"s, Ash uses his words quite fast, thinking sometimes it is funny. Not all people are & think alike. IMO, not ok, better to stay polite.

So you think it is a very cool story about your trip to the AD???
Nobody is interested hearing or reading about it...

Hokky: If there is any sign of a green tinge it either ain't CT AR or the prep work was bad. CT apears to think that the most likely explanation is that it is not his AR at all. Draw your own conclusions. I get realy upset at the (aperant) implications from Rocketeer that any of this is Chief's fault. We know that is untrue.
Chief is a perfectionest of the highest order.
Col.
NO PREPWORK WAS DONE ON THESE CRYSTALS........

The 2 crystals that I received from Rocketeer were also a bit green hued. Though the AR is quite well. IF this is not a Chieftang AR, than it is a rip off. Because I remember very well that Geoff mentioned on the phone that the UK AR lab is a LOT cheaper than what we pay for Chieftang.
Well, it matters to me that I pay a lot for an not so good UK AR with different quality. We only wanted the Chieftang AR...
Pretty Angelus movement split second
in The Panerai Area
Posted
why would you want to have THIS movement in a Panerai rep case? Just because it is of the brand Angelus?
It has nothing to do with Panerai or vintage Panerai...
