  1. @ Deniz21...

the rep color of the rep lume of the pam243 is also not really correct. It has the kind of green color. but the gen which is copied is a T-dial. meaning tritium. rep is more green. gen less green, more green-yellow-white color.

I have since this week a pam243 with mods: dial relumed by The Zigmeister with tritium mix, cg lever fixed (less floppy), better date wheel, cg lever polished and flattened, polished the bezel markers, and will coming weeks try to see if pam252 ultimate crystal will fit in.

So lots of mods to make it perfect. But perfect with the pam243 will never really be, because the bezel markers are too big in diameter and height. But STILL one of my favorite PAMs!

    Cheers!

  2. Sub-dial spacing my friend....

the gen has them much more close than the rep. Check it out and you will be disappointing.

Complete different watch, but a lot more correct with good subdial spacing is the new ultimate P.O. Chronograph. but of course, that one is a lot bigger than the seamaster and speedmaster..

  3. I always believed that the most problems with exploding were the 1950 44mm models, like the 253 and the 212. I had at least 5-7 exploded crystals with pam253 for myself and other people. terrible terrible... Only when they produce the 'old' sapphire crystals again, I will buy one of these. Once I had a fully The Zigmeisterfied 253 (relume, movement serviced, cg modd, Jakub AR), but I refuse to invest in these tricky watches now.

  4. the finish looks quite nice. very well done!

But.. as far as I know, the hands on the pam249 should be C1. Dial is correct with C3.

But... right now it started to look like a sausage dial with the thick lume. should be less thin lume. Because the genuine is almost like a hybrid sandwich dial. For pics of the genuine pls see here:

  5. Awesome buy. very very nice 1938. Also comfortable knowing that until now and probably never a perfect 1:1 rep will be made, because of the dial. Very good picture you made of that dial!

Myself am still busy modding my rep 249. got The Zigmeister lume, got a better OP crown, nice Teddy strap, and later the case engraving. But hell... that dial is killing me. CONGRATS!!

  6. Thank you Zigmeister, again a very well and helpful writeup. It will be a real help finding good movements.

And again again again from your experience it can be concluded that ALL movements greatly benifit from a full service because of over oiling, no oil, dirt, hairs etc etc.

Based on your experience and writeups I let all my movements being serviced. but to do that with all 7750's I own it will be quite expensive, but I am very much aware that it is best for the movement in the long run.

once again, thank you very much!!

  7. Nope. has been discussed before. use search button on this board. for what it is worth, maybe they would just check if the movement runs good on time and not behind of too fast.. that is it. Taking the whole movement apart is something else. I would only trust a good watch smith with that.
