  1. I think he is just BUSY getting things done. It the aftermath of getting the crystals 2 weeks ago, what would you have him do: installing those crystals, quality control and shipping the crystals + watches (apart from his pending watch repair business), OR answering all the emails people have been sending and answering telephone calls keeping him off the job we want him to do so much right now....

For the record, I received my 2 crystals back yesterday from him. And other members also already received crystals back (i heard through pm's).

    Cheers,

  2. Hooky : it's not only a question of schedule.

It's a question of communication and a question of skills.

Quality check : does that mean Chief has screwed some coatings ? He has not reported that...

If answering all the emails within 48h almost becomes a full time job and if several people email him at least once every one or 2 weeks, I can imagine it will take a watch smith from his working bench.

  3. I spoke to Rocketeer on the phone, I believe last week, after he got the crystals back. In my opinion it is no problem that it will take a bit more after the crystals arrived. the batch also needed quality control. And then putting the crystals back in the watches and then shipping and administration..

for the average watch smith and having to do this in between all the other pending work, 2-4 weeks seems a more practical schedule to me. Apart from the fact that it takes so long.

    just my 2 cents.

  4. do you think the online shops i listed are ok?..

I don't value dealers high who even have in there shop name the word 'Swiss'. To me it is just misleading and is a seller who is going along with the average stream of replica sellers thinking the need to use Swiss everywhere on their page to claim and impress quality. Most movements are not Swiss at all. Even the pam127 is not completely swiss, since those bridges on top of the movement are asian of course.

Even though the seller might be good, just having such name will let me pass.

I would consider Chris from Eurotimez.

    Good luck.

  5. hello hellooo!!! Wow, 2 days and already a supporter! Very well!!

the pam127 does not have trouble with explosions as far as I know. that was more with the luminor 1950 44mm models.

In your budget you should consider a good after market strap. The rep straps kind of suck compared to gen quality and appearance. there are great straps for around 90usd from Gunnystraps for example. matches the 127 perfectly. If you look around you will see some of those 127 gunny combos have been posted around here on this board.

  6. Looks real to me too.

but be aware that these movements need a full overhaul. Most time they are used for many years. And even when it is new, they are 'new old stock' which means they also need a service since all the oil is dried up.

so take into account the cost of service and installation into a watch. not just the ebay deal...

  7. I sent with intern. reg. post as well and it was processed by China Post. They could not deliver the parcel to the dealer, so i had to start an investigation by the local post company who shipped my parcel in the first place. Within a 1,5 week I had my parcel back after 2,5 months. stamps on the parcel showed it was handled by china post.

  8. Looks nice. Makes it look like a real rough tool watch. At it was intended for.... Did you do any mods on for instance the crown guard, it looks really nice.

I had my pam252 relumed and also the indexes of the gmt indices at the outer part of the dial lumed. Standard on the rep there is no lume. Looks great with lume. Can't post pictures yet, since my crystal is on the way from chieftang back to Rocketeer.

    All the best!

  9. crown and tube is on some models 'needed'. I have a model which has a nice crown. also saw models with a very flat crown.

but a gen bracelet? Have you looked around for the price of a used gen smp? They come for around 1000-1200usd. the way you're going with this rep will almost hit the 600-800usd. Then why not add the extra and get a used gen?

for the record, I also have a modded smp. (relumed, AR-ed, movement serviced, better insert) but decided not to take the gen folding clasp for obvious reasons.

  10. 177H - nice Ti case with workhorse 6497 movt. You can pick one up for $200. Spend the rest on AR, Lume and a nice strap.

    or a Fiddy from DSN - $460.

standard 177H does not have Ti crown I believe. So getting one and having it installed will cost more...
