    Oh my...Simon, Ross, Marco...stunning in all aspects.

    What a wonderful story and a true testament to the heart and soul of this place. I love stories like this that show that this place is so much more than just a watch forum but a Community in the truest sense.

    Stunning...stunning...stunning! I have been wanting one of these so badly...what a treat to see it here!!

    ...or it could be that you have a damaged clutch or whatever it's called in the crown (i.e. damaged crown) that should just spin when not pushed in...and will turn the stem when pushed in. My busted one only turned the stem when pulled out or down...a bit tricky to turn re-insert/re-install the stem.

    I had a post on this somewhere...I'll look for it later if you PM me if you want...I had to replace the crown on mine...the trick was finding one that fit the existing tube.

    That's where I bought it and it says its got a functional regulator?

    Yeah the rotor isnt the latest model, but it looks nice anyway.

    I don't care about the datewheel, how do you change that by the way?

    I've heard of these newer movements coming with the functional regulator...haven't bought one myself though. I know there are a few factories that make the A7750...so source the right one and get the better features. Cool.

    The watch looks good.

    There are a few datewheel change tutorials around. Shoot me a PM and I'll try and remember to search for the links later when I'm at home.

    i am thinking about getting a daytona 6263.. but that doesn't have the date.

    Changing the time is not the issue...it's using the quickset date change between those times that is the problem. So, you can change the time whenever you need to...just don't do the quickset date change. No date...no problem.

    It's also not an issue of course on the Seagull ST19 6263's (manual wind "Lemania").

    Just to add...it could be as simple as the hand needs to be pressed back on which is a simple task by any watchmaker. The risk is that the rep hands can be cheap and might have "stretched" (not technically accurate but better for understanding)...so in this case, I think it can be glued...not 100% sure on this...but I think that's what's done.

    If you send it back, it will be about $15-20 USD to ship it and about 2 months before you have something back.

    BTW...not sure if you saw this review of the Carrera (same watch...different dial versions):

    I tried to find another...but can't seem to. It's a great watch. The only complaint I have on mine (I have the Carrera Racing with the red hands) is that the bracelet links are not as tight as the gen...and have gaps in them...similar to my vintage gen Rolex bracelet :)

    The datewheel is not great...but after a quick datewheel swap...it's great. The rotor is not as nice as the Carrera Day-Date...and doesn't sport the regulator or the ETA fastening nut...but these can be upgraded if you feel like it...but I don't think it's really worth the effort. The datewheel is questionable...I did it...but not sure if you need to.

    It's a very nice piece...nice size too.

    It's been discussed...there was one and are a few floating around in threads. There used to be one in the Wiki but it was not utilized very much and disappeared with the forum upgrade. I'm going to try and put together another one...stay tuned!!

    I'm assuming you've seen The Zigmeister's write-up...here's one on his breakdown of a serviced 4 year old one:

    Zig's 4 Year Old A7750

    1) is the movement pretty strong like any other watch

    As strong as expensive gen watches...as reliable as well...but needs to be serviced within a year when bought new as movement generally comes dirty and improperly oiled so servicing will get things where they should be to prevent damaging of gears and other parts

    2)can it be used every day and are there any other physical handling characteristics require, like being ultra sensitive with the screw otherwise it will break?

    Aside from the usual caveats about mechanical watches...they can be used everyday as long as they are serviced and maintained properly. If not serviced and maintained...they can still be used everyday...but may run into performance problems prematurely...but you may also get lucky and have it lost without problems for many years.

    Certain rules: Don't manually wind an a7750...just enough to get it running...and rely on the auto-winder; don't set the time between around 9pm and 4am or it can jam some gears (this is the same as the gen); don't drop it or smash it into walls (same as the gen)

    3) By this I mean more so than any watch in general.

    Yes...these watches are more delicate than quartz movements...but no more delicate than other mechanical chronos.

    Not necessarily...as the HBB's usually have a tricompax layout. If it was a standard 6-9-12 configuration...no problems aside from the hand sizing.

    On the HBBs however, transfering the tricompax mod from a modded a7750 to a Swiss 7750 is not something I've seen done too often and I'm not sure that it's a straight plug-and-play mod. As Zig has said, the only true 7750 is the 6-9-12 configuration.

    It can be done and I believe all of two have been done. I did one years ago and ended up having to cannibalize several movements to get all the parts. It is a heck of a lot of work and requires either having access to obscure ETA parts or cannibalizing your existing Asian movement(s) which kind of destroys the purpose.

    Is this because of the tricompax layout modification...or am I way off on this??? You have more experience on this by MILES AND MILES than I do!!
