  1. Glad to see you are having so much fun with it. We do miss you but thoroughly enjoy the pics.
  2. I was wondering the same thing. I think it is key wound as well and those parts are impossible to get.
  3. Please share a few pics whenever you get a chance and let us know what the target date is. I suspect I can ensure you have enough crystals for the next run.
  4. My current favorite sub rep. That one is definitely getting a Swiss movement.
  5. Don't know if anyone is interested but I came upon a seller on the bay who has a large number of true Swiss 7750 movements. He bought a lot of 200 or so in 2002 and 2003. He serviced them and sealed them up. Be advised that these are the older 17 jewel movements which were made in the late 80's. Current 7750's have 25 jewels and there is always the question of how it will hold up versus the new ones. The subdials are at 6, 9 and 12. I bought one as a test and shipped it to Ziggy. His report is that it looks and functions very well. I just picked up a half a dozen or so but I thought I would pass it on. Here is one being offered but the seller will discount for multiples. I have no idea how many he has left but I thought folks might have interest. http://cgi.ebay.com/Chronograph-Valjoux-Et...tem270098076446 More original movement PAM's or very inexpensive way to upgrade that Asian 7750 whose rotor is driving you nuts in a number of watches. Kruz P.S. And for you cynical folks, no I am not affiliated with this person.
  6. Wow. Huge leap forward. i may have to start saving my pennies for a gen with the new movement.
  7. I understand what you are saying. They look great and the lack of distortion is terrific. As I said previously I will take 10 of them.
  8. Well, a few years into it and I am still in the honeymoon phase. Since I got particular about what reps I buy I have had better luck with my reps than my gens. But I will take luck over skill every day of the week.
  9. Sorry to hear about everyone's bad experiences. I agree with the comment about buying directly from the factory during Chinese New Year. This time of year I try and focus my buying on other reliable forum members. Picked up a 2892 Power Reserve, rare correctly functioning Palped Daytona and an Orange PO with good bezel insert is on the way from another member as well. On Eddie's project, IMHO, patience is a virtue. If a large factory were doing this do you think they would slow down their run of 1,000 pieces because a gasket was a little off? No they would jam it together. I do hope there are more smaller run high end projects. I will happily wait for whatever time it takes for Eddie to get the Pilot Chrono right. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's mine.
  10. Whenever I hear the words "fancy a ____" I harken back to the tee shirt in Notting Hill.
  11. Where is a mod when you need him? Although I do love it when Neil sets his sights on someone.
  12. Didn't you know the rep trade is a front for funding terrorist organizations.
  13. Completely inappropriate. If you can't say it in a civilized manner don't say it. I would think we will see a suspension in the offing.
  14. White trash? Guys, you are using these services to buy illegal items.
  15. I have heard on a number of occasions that it is a 1,000 pieces if you are having a dedicated movement made and substantially less otherwise.
  16. It will be done when it is done. That is the nature of one-off projects. And for anyone wondering about him running off with the money don't forget he has a far more lucrative day job. This is a hobby for him.
  17. Kind of like the homeless person asking for $10,000 for a cup of coffee... It only takes one.
  18. He may well have an issue that is out of his control. He once had a whole batch of watches seized by customs on his end. He, of course, made it right but it did take a week or two. Or he is simply traveling for his day job. He can be on the road for up to a week at a time.
