  1. Where else - Ebay Look both on Ebay generally and Ebay Germany. The other day I saw a couple on the German site. Don't remember where though.
  2. The issues are the following: a.) Rep is modeled after the A series which is the only one that came with no etchings on the bezel (it has raised markers only). On that version there are no metal rings around the hour markers b.) Subsequent versions have bezel with both markers and etching. Some have rings and some don't I do believe the A did come without bezel etching in both polished and unpolished though. What I do appreciate about this particular version is that the hands and how they join on the center pinion is very close to spot on and that (IMHO) is the give away on all these subs. Plenty of watches require repairs and new dials. None get a replacement cheapy movement with capped hands. If you want to get psychotic about it: Polish up whole watch, investigate removing rings from hour markers (I believe they are glued on), relume with creamy lume to emulate tritium, add new cyclops and hope someone makes a datewheel. Between the 7750 - 48, 49, 24, etc, there may be enough demand to warrant someone doing this. Now you are looking pretty good. Then again you have too much money into it and it costs almost twice as much as the original lower cost version.
  3. Great minds... I shipped my Chrono Avenger to Ziggy along with a new Swiss 7750 and OEM dial (paid $10). Don't think I would pay up for that rotor though. That rotor has embossed logo. What is that?
  4. What makes you think Paul will actually get it. He may but he has posted pictures of things he never got before. Take the fourth edition 1950 (i.e. the right one).
  5. Think twice on that. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1246
  6. I don't know the answer, but I would wait for the new crown coming from Palpatine and PAM. It is more accurate and likely to be priced about the same.
  7. How did you get close enought to get those photos?
  8. Is the 16610 case the same size as the vintage subs? Maybe a dumb question but I have never owned a contemporary sub.
  9. The markers fall off. They are simply glued on. I was wondering if the the more expensive PAM 24 with Asian 7750 now being offered by dealers has the same issue.
  10. As long as we are on MBW I was curious on the 16610 and YM. I own a pair of vintages and they are fantastic. I've added all kinds of ben parts and they do become better and better. Is the MBW 16610 Sub head and shoulders above other versions? Does it look as close to the gens? Finally, does it take original parts? thanks in advance.
  11. I got you guys beat - two of my kids have palindromic names. By the way, if you are going to go this route go all the way. Igpae atinlae siae ehtae nlyoae aywae otae ogae. One other thought - if you really like doing things backward you should learn hebrew.
  12. I heard secondhand he is out and about on the Mainland hunting for treasures.
  13. Breitling and 196. Live a little. I would wear the Breitling into the Panerai store though. Have a blast.
  14. Beautiful watch. I wouldn't overdo the vintage effect on the dial or hands though. The gen is only 5-6 years old. I am at work and so I don't have anything in front of me but if the gen was actually T Swiss T that would imply that fabulous nuclear creamy color.
  15. He's back. Ziggy- You are going to regret offering to take on another one of those "fabulous" 7750 Daytonas with running seconds at 6. Someone should tell all these Rolex fanatics (okay, I like Rolex's too) to focus on the pre-2000 Daytonas. There is a reason why Rolex did not move the running seconds until they produced their own in-house movement.
  16. Following the Brokeback Mountain Theme - How about this: Given the underlying sentimental value of your screen name, apologies in advance. But I couldn't resist.
  17. Ziggy- Nice to have you back. There is a rather large package on the way to you.
  18. It certainly is plausible. At some point the wholesalers will gear up to make a large order which some of our dealers should get access to. I do caution folks that Aspire listed the "fourth generation" 1950 and still lists it with no price and no availability. But you never can tell. I would have expected Josh, Sean or Angus to have showed up with it first.
  19. The comment on Rolexes I agree with. Most people who wear them are just wearing them as part of a uniform. It is interesting that when I wear an MBW vintage people who care actually notice. I find that no one is hunting for the Rolex rep. Nobody cares. The one other point I think is that in many circles watches are one of very few forms of male jewelry. It is nice to be able to change the jewelry. So there definitely is a peacock factor. But the getting laid or wanting to be attractive to the other sex still factors in fairly strongly.
  20. I have noticed that an increasing number of folks are modding their better reps. I am an avid modder (with Ziggy's help) so I think it always helps to share information on what mods people are doing as it helps everyone (who cares) improve their watch. If you think this is a waste of time don't bother posting. I will go first: Breitling Chrono Avenger - New movement and dial. Picked up pristeen Swiss 7750 movement from great guy on Ebay Germany for $200 and OEM dial for $10 7753 Daylight - Finepics datewheel and new crowns when available. Superlume as well. Cannibalizing one defunct Asian 7750 in older case to mount Panda innards into it. 2893 GMT - Improved cyclops being offered in general discussion. New crowns when available and hoping Finepics elects to move forward on new datewheels. Lume. 2893 Power Reserve - All the above plus PVD thru Palp from OEM supplier to PAM MBW's (Ziggified Comex and Tribalized Red Sub) - Standard CG's, springbars, case rounding already done. Adding gen crown and tube. Doing a little lume work on the Comex. Modding items I have heard talked about but am waiting to be available: - Improved PAM crowns and crown guards (both chronos and non-chronos) - 2893 Datewheels - I am still begging Finepics - Cyclops for PAM's (those I know are coming) Does anyone else know what is on the horizon or have interesting resources? Cheers to all, and nice to see everyone coming over.
  21. Ubiquitous- Do we all have that strap? I got mine from Veni.
  22. Hey guys, why don't you ask him. The seller is a member. Finepics- What are you doing hanging around iOffer? Are you waking up or going to bed?
