Where else you can have Panerai History lesson for free than RWG? Good info my friend.. Wish new members could have constant access on this.
You can't even learn this stuff at paneristi.com. I've asked questions there but they seem more interested in slapping each other on the back about their latest PAM purchase. The rep forums are a treasure trove of PAM knowledge.

DSN has been busy making new dials and watches it seems. 005, 202A, 201A, 218A, 203A, new 104 ...
I'd love to see pics of that 005 dial when you get it.

First who has the best 111 dial? I want one with correct A's , the correct spacing of the L Swiss Made L and the correct color lume. I am not a perfectionist or I would buy a gen....I just want those three items correct.
No one has those three items correct.

And where do we find them ?????
One of the dealers on Repgeek in the VIP area had a very limited number of these for sale (2 of them.) I don't know if he has anymore but someone is obviously making them. Other dealers will get them in time I'm sure.

I don't mean to take a crap in here but there are some better 02 reps out there:
-
Well that may be true for the movement, but the dial looks sandwich to me. But I do not know my Radiomir's so well. I thought that the H series was the one that started the sandwich dial.
Except in Radiomirs. They started with G. Don't forget, the 127E is also a sandwich dial too.

EDIT: It seems that we both hit the button at the same time and at least we are saying the same thing.
Yes, but I included a photo so that makes me cooler.

I am pretty sure that the 036 is an L dial...
It is not an L dial, this I know for a fact
The prototype model they show in their catalog was an L but all 200 of the ones that were released are all T SWISS T. There are rumors that there MIGHT be a few L SWISS L 036 dials out there but if so, one has never turned up yet.
The rep makes used the official PAM photos of the 036 dial which is incorrect.
Here is a gen 036 that was for sale on Paneristi. I've collected photos of various gen 036s that have come up for sale. All have been T SWISS T.

No A/R on it for sure :-)
Volker Viegemann from 'risti owned one of these gens and confirmed - not a trace of A/R.
You're safe Baz :-)
Thanks for the update. I can go to sleep now

The Zigmeister is working on my 036 right now. He's changing the L SWISS L to a T SWISS T. He's also removing the AR for me. Mine had really purple AR on it. I can't believe the gen, if it really does have AR (?!), had AR as purple as what I had on mine.

Here's the Panerai site about his model (and, yes!!! it has AR!):

Wear in well!
That's really bizarre. I never saw that before. I thought all pre-C PAMs had no AR. Wierd.

Thanks for the help. What size die so you guys use when pressing in PAM sapphires?
-
No way that's a crazy horse strap.

I'm slowly gathering tools to work on my PAMs like hand removers/setters, etc. I'm looking to swap out the crystals on some DSN cases that aren't supposed to have AR. Being that DSN has non-AR crystals now, this is something I think I can do with the proper tools.
I've been told the crystal can be popped out from the inside with mh thumbs. I'll need a crystal press to install the new ones. Does anyone have any advice on what to get to do this job properly? Thanks.

cheers

Awesome, thanks for that. Saved to my photo archive
That gen is much lighter blue than the rep.

You guys are all way too serious. Lighten up.
-
Well, you tried and you did well with the rest! Now you can send it off to a modder to dissasemble the movt. and take out the broken stem. You might as well have them put in a new stem while they have it.

Hey Baz,
the pull must be very strong mate!

LOL!
babola
It's still impossible to get one. I've gotten one response and he wants to trade it for a fiddy. He told me it was worth $16K. If I could find one, I'd buy it so we could study it. I'd hold onto for a bit and then sell it for some profit down the road.

Before I saw these pictures published by Bazonkers, I thought they made it slighlty off, as the types around the central door, are a bit too close to the edge (as on Lanikai watch).
But the back of Joe's watch (Bazonkers), looks quite right then.
Actually it seams that the whole image engraved on the back of Randall's watch, it's a bit larger than it should.
But this is also the way this watch is depicted on Joshua shop and also on King's one.
Can I ask where you both guys bought this watch from?
I bought mine from Josh.

What is the lug width?
24mm. It takes any standard Panerai strap such as this one:
-
Mine are all tight and the same. Since you already have two other PAMs, you know what they should feel like. If it feels wrong, it probably is.
-
I was going to say, it's too blue, but I'm too diplomatic.
I need people to tell me when a strap combo has failed. Don't be so nice next time
In another photo a member posted, it looked bluer. Hmm, good heads up though.Let me know what you think when you get yours. Under fluorescent light and my brief check under cloudy skies, it looks blue. It only looks purple under household lighting. I'm also curious to see if maybe the second batch has a different color. I doubt it since I'm sure they made more than 5 of these dials. That all said, I still like my 229. It's different from the all the black and white PAMs I have.
-
I've since put this on a black/black GeF leather strap. I think it looks better than the blue.
Regardless of the strap, under incandescent household lighting, this dial looks purple. Be prepared for that.
What movements are Davidsen's new PAMs going to use? The same? I heard he was coming out with a 164 and 104. Didn't know about a 229. If he gets the color more blue, I might have to buy a dial and swap it in. If he used the same exact color as his 082, I still might buy a new dial. I like my 229 as is but I think the dial color is a little off. The rest is spot on for my tastes. On a 100 edition gen, I'm not worried about the date font. It's good as is on this. Far better than the date that was on my 027A rep. I wouldn't even worry about the dial that much since no one really has seen one of these but I just want it more blue for my own personal tastes.
I would guess this 229 has a sandwich dial with a hole for the cyclops, in which case mine would most likely not work. To me, though, the mag looks good on this. The date font is just a little off. This is a sausage dial.

The dial txt on the gen appears to be silver rather than white like on a rep...would you say so? Could be only the lighting, though.
I would say the dial text on the gen looks more tan/beige to me. The rep is more white. At least it isn't C3 green
this is getting serious!

How wide is that watch with CG? That watch looks too crazy for me.
